Cheerful, friendly, and personable, Kailyn is the stereotypical people person. She’s sweet, empathetic, and tends to get along with most people. However, she can be a bit too passive at times, sometimes going along with things that she’s not happy or comfortable with just to keep people around her happy. Kailyn tends to judge people based on how they act around and treat her, rather than judging by rumor or reputation. She’s found those to be wrong far more often than she’s comfortable with. In general, she’s that friendly girl who always has a smile and is always willing to make friends wherever she goes.
[break][break]
Except when she’s in battle mode. When in, around, or immediately after a battle, Kailyn is much more focused, driven, and stubborn. It’s the only time she’s really ever aggressive. She’ll still be smiling, but she is much more likely to really make the point of what SHE wants, though never to the point of being mean or rude. And usually, what she wants is a victory. From normal Kailyn to battle Kailyn is a sudden sharp focus and change, but the reverse tends to be more of a gradual shift back to sweet smiles.
[break][break]
On radio, the people hear her much of her normal persona, though she'll try to stay cheerful even when she's having a bad day. She can get a little...overeager when talking battles or interviewing trainers, but for the most part is just a very friendly host.

The first place you remember living is Nimbasa City, in Unova. You were born there at 324am, in a room that overlooked the bright lights of the city. Your parents always said you took after those lights, bright and cheerful, shining strong in the darkness. Ohm, your first Pokemon, was adopted byyou the family before you left, and he was a constant comfort to you.[break]
[break]
When you were four, your mother got a job in Lavaridge, in Hoenn, and your family packed up to move there. It’s your true hometown in your mind, and you lived there for thirteen years, longer than anywhere else. It was in Lavaridge that you met your oldest friends. Evelyn and [Suzaku Face], they were there on your first day of school, and from then on, you three were inseparable. You remember learning how to battle with them (and winning). You remember when your parents brought all three of you Castelia Cones and you got to show your friends your favorite treat from Unova. You remember adding Dyer and Bendix to your party, as your friends found partners of their own. You remember trying to comfort Evelyn after her parents’ deaths. You remember watching them leave, one after the other. [break]
[break]
Evelyn was first, and you don’t blame her. You missed her when she was gone, since she was one of your best friends. [Suzaku face] stuck around a bit longer, and you stayed for him (there was a horrible crush on your part), but even he left soon after. You couldn’t be there alone. Your parents understood, they encouraged you to set out on your own then, even giving you a Pikachu your father brought back from a trip to Kanto. So at seventeen, you left too, leaving Lavaridge behind you.[break]
[break]
Your first stop was Sinnoh, and it was there that you started to build a reputation for your battling skills. Your team was five strong at that point, as Watt joined you not long after arrival. Between the six of you, gyms started to fall. It took you time, training, and meeting new people, but you collected all eight gym badges in the region. Before you could take on any of the other challenges Sinnoh had to offer, you caught sight of pink hair on a television broadcast and immediately left for Alola. [break]
[break]
You thought it was Evie, your closest friend that you hadn’t seen in so long. You were wrong. [break]
[break]
Alola was nice. It was warm, and it reminded you of Hoenn a lot more than Sinnoh did. You took on a handful of island trials but didn’t find them as fulfilling as the gym battles. You wanted the badges to prove yourself, wanted the chance to show everyone that you were a better battler than most. You wanted to be Champion one day, and that was the first time you really admitted it to yourself. You wanted the title, you wanted the praise, you wanted everything the job brought with it.[break]
[break]
You didn’t stay in Alola long. Long enough for those few trials and to make your team total seven. Diode was your first caught, and it was an accident. You would have sworn it was an electric rodent like the rest of your team, but it wasn’t. Still, you’d grown fond of it, and you couldn’t just let it go back into the wild. You had no idea it would be your strongest battler. You caught a Togedemaru as well, but that one tends to stay at home with your parents. You like to think it gives them something to take care of now that you’re gone. [break]
[break]
Three years ago, you made your way to Lyeant. You were there through Imum's fall, managed to get a job helping host Skywave (mostly trainer and battle related, your specialties), and you started the gym challenge to earn a new set of badges. But as the region rebuilds, you're not quite sure who's got the right idea. For now though, you're just aiming to finally make Champion.
