TWO YEARS AGO, A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION GOING BY THE NAME TEAM IMUM WRECKED CHAOS ACROSS THE LAND, DAMAGING CITIES AND KILLING THOUSANDS OF CITIZENS. While Imum itself has long since been disbanded, however, the region remains broken: entire towns have been laid to waste and the Association struggles to find homes for those who were lucky enough to survive the attempted genocide. Reconstruction trudges on as usual... but with three factions - the Association, the corporations, and the people - each wishing to take the rebuilding of an entire region down opposite paths, how long will it be before Lyeant's last leg gives out permanently?

Care to hear about our lord and savior Operation: Mindcrime? In all seriousness: Hello, hello! I'm Pharaoh Leap – or just Leap – local head admin and rock opera enthusiast. On the rare chance you catch me in a time when I'm not bawling about characters entirely written into song, you may see me actually doing work around the site, like skinning, making too many characters, and encouraging others to also make too many characters. I only know how to write angst, and in no fewer than six trillion words an app or post, so if you like dying while reading like I like dying while writing, I'm the girl for you. ;o
Howdy guys! The names Astro and I am your resident Brit & Red muse (you'll honestly see me more on him than any of my other characters). I'm a moderator and my main job is to make sure everything is running smoothly so the Admins can focus on other things, you'll often see me within the apps and shops, etc when I'm not on Red. What can I say about myself? Apart from being a Red fanboy I like music and games and yaoi huehue, I honestly never now what to put into these sort of things but ohwell, I'm more of a "ask me and I'll tell" sorta guy. Anyway, from my personally I hope that you enjoy the site and what we produce here but also if you're new, please look around and if you like what you see please consider joining for rad plots that everyone gives! :D
Hey there~ Nano over here! I uh.. Wait, I'm doing this right, right? Bleh. So I'm a moderator over here - fun, fun - who kind of just.. Keeps an eye on everyone. You know, the whole app thing and what not. Uh.. Lets see.. When I'm not doing school work (because I may or may not be trying to be a good student) I'm probably storming up new ideas like events and etc. Or plots. Plots are always good, too. As you can see, I uh.. Have the horrible habit of making way too many characters. I swear, I was tempted with plots, ships and angst. It's like, the holy trinity. Uh.. What else is there about me? Oh, right! Please excuse my obnoxiousness. I'm just really loud in general so don't be surprised if I start screaming as loudly as I can caps. So yeah. Nice meeting you!
tbe: take two! is inspired by, but not associated with nintendo's pokemon franchise. the current skin was created by pharaoh leap using font icons primarily from ion icons and fonts from google fonts. banner art by vav of pixiv. characters, with the exception of canons from the manga, belong to the members who write them, and all posts and templates on site are credited to their respective authors and artists. we claim nothing that is not ours.

Even he had to admit, the destruction here was something to admire. A group of people so hellbent on ending everything that there were no bars, nothing held back. Even under the pale light of the full moon, Nikolai could see the desolate expanse before him - and he could feel it. Despair, fear, hatred, death - it clung to his surroundings and saturated the air. If he listened hard enough, perhaps the terrified screams and wails could still be heard - but that would be for another day.
No, he felt something else here - a power so familiar that, in a sense, felt comforting. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew it felt much like his own - yet he couldn't place it. However it was more than a feeling, he felt compelled - summoned. Something here was calling to him, and he couldn't help but to answer, to follow the sweet feeling that seemed to envelop his mind. Nikolai remained wary, even the sweetest of things had their bitter bites - whatever he was here for could be dangerous, and that was a thought ever present within his mind.
By his side, Naamah, a young Liepard kept his pace, her ears twitching and resting against her head as she listened to their surroundings. She was always so keen, so alert. There had been a couple times where she was able to catch things that had gone under Nikolai's radar - and for that, he was grateful. Yet here, even though the air held unease, she remained steadfast, her courage evident in her stride and the way she carried herself - she'd always been proud to serve at Nikolai's side.
Their journey had brought them to the edge of the crater, Nikolai stopping before Naamah, who padded to the edge to peer over, looking down with narrowed eyes. Her head fell, shoulders rolling - tail twitching as she scanned the deathly hole - nothing meeting her sights that could bring her trainer harm. With a contented snort, she returned to Nikolai's side, her tail wrapping around him as she circled his legs - a purr buzzing from her that brought them both a sense of peace.
Nikolai, though, seemed focused on something else - that feeling was getting stronger, the call. It sent a shiver down his spine, and his grip fell from the blade at his side. No, there was no fear here, no fear for the presence that came ever closer. Instead, he waited - gaze rising to the sky, locking with the moon. Within, the pokemon buzzed - Naganadel knew something more than he - yet the feeling he got brought him a rush.
So, he waited.

The level of life in this current area was null. [break][break]
That is, for now. From what she could garner, the level of life would soon be off the charts, surpassing that of which she initially suspected or predicted. Something that would go against all her tests, all of the years that she had wasted in trying to research that said species. The very species that she found herself being so fascinated by. Something that would have made her jump in ecstasy, something that could make her jump onto experiments, countless hypothesis. Something that could not be proven, something that could be only seen as a breakthrough in science. All for science, all for the sake of science and the advancement of humans. [break][break]
But the fact is it was merely for her selfish, sick and twisted desires. [break][break]
Lonely, they thought to themselves. Quiet, they pondered. It was unsatisfactory, it was vexing. They couldn't put their finger on it, but they yearned for contact. There were so many people, so many pokemon. There were so many pokemon that were also people. There was laughter, there were smiles. That is, in Eirenhyre from meets the eye. While many others would see peace and prosperity, all their cyanide eyes could see was pain, confusion and destruction. They could only see disintegration, the destruction of humanity for this very region was dawning upon them. Destruction was a term foreign to them, purely because they wished for nothing more than energy. They were to be brought into this world, seeking for energy. They craved it, they searched for it. For as far as the Deep Sea went, they could never find the energy to sustain themselves. They just wanted energy, they just wanted to sate this never ending craving. But though their host had yet to fully die, the dormant state they had forced said host into was possibly even more cruel than death itself. It would have been mercy to kill them, to let them leave their body. But, for as far as this parasite were concerned, allowing the soul to leave would no longer give them something to generate energy from. The energy that they still craved, even after stealing. Stealing the life away from a person. [break][break]
Granted, they wouldn't be surprised if this host were to die shortly after. Give it a year, two years or longer. This was only a temporary host, they were something that they only needed for a short time. It was foolish for a human to think that a pokemon needed them, it was foolish for them to offer themselves up and revere to the beast like some godly being. It was stupid, it was blind. They weren't complaining, however, because it offers them a way to steal. To harvest more energy, and that's the only thing that mattered for as far as they were concerned. But again, they were beginning to suffer from the lack of energy. They needed someone to harvest energy for them, do something so that they could collect the energy without looking suspicious. This host's intelligence was beneficial, specifically due to her vast knowledge on biology with both humans and pokemon. They found it useful. [break][break]
But someone was needed. They're help was needed. If not, it wouldn't be difficult to make a death look like a suicide. The body that was once Sierra Holmes glances over to find another figure approaching the Crater, and at that, the life levels sky rocketed. A small smile stretched across their lips, casually walking their way down from the circumference of the crater to approach him. Pasty white skin, paired with bright, cyan eyes that nearly glowed under the exaggerated hat that clung to her head. A hat that looked more like a parasite if anything, latching onto the top of her head. It clung and the white appendages twitched and moved around, movements similar to a crag or a bug's limbs. A man with royal purple skin, paired with golden eyes. No, not in terms of the iris nor the pupil; the man had gold in the place of white. Even then, they seemed to stay silent for the majority of the exchanges of stares. If he were to look in her eyes, he would see emptiness. Nothing but a mirror - a husk of the woman she used to be. [break][break]
"... Naganadel?" They utter the name, a childish, yet soft voice emitting from their lips. In response to this, the appendages of their "hat" begin to adjust themselves in fluid movements, shortly before they seem to smile a slightly bit wider. "... Naganadel~... You really came~"

Through the years that Naganadel had become one with this human's vessel, twisting it in ways no human would ever understand, save for one - it always knew there was something more. Nikolai had been good to it, and it to Nikolai - the two supporting each other more than Naganadel could have ever thought a human would be willing. Most of their time was spent as one, two consciousnesses like one, flowing with perfect sync and communication - however, there were times where one seemed more like two, communication split and bouncing between two entities. Even with Naganadel's ideals and wishes, Nikolai didn't condemn it - instead, he worked to better them both. Naganadel found it beneficial.
A human appearance, no matter how twisted, made reaching goals much easier.
The presence grew stronger, the call louder - and Naganadel felt Nikolai retreat, allowing the pokemon complete control. Respect, that was another key to a successful partnership - and Naganadel felt itself smirk at this. At his legs, the Liepard stiffened, her eyes focused on an approaching figure as she fell deathly silent. His own eyes followed her gaze, falling upon the being who approached them. Familiar, ever so familiar - calming - one and the same. He calculated, examined, waited - could this be what he thought it was? Or was it some sick, cruel trick played by the scientists back from the lab - a test to see if they could find a way to fully control him or not. He hated them, every single one of them - wanted nothing more than to see their blood spill and paint their surroundings. The thought, for a moment, spiked his heart rate, sending a shiver of excitement through him.
It was then that he realized.
This was no trick. No human, scientist or not, could make this possible.
The corners of his lips turned upward in a smile that could be considered warm - and for Naganadel, it certainly was. A cold being showing compassion and warmth, something so rare, so reserved - only a few knew it was capable of such things. This being before him was one of those few. His voice, soft and foreign to his lips, "Of course I would... I couldn't ignore you..." Slowly, he made his way closer to her, eyes not once falling from the other ultra beast's. How like it, the eyes so empty and soulless - portraying a sense of beauty that only Nihilego was able to capture. "It has been far too long, old friend..."
Cross me once and you'll see It's like a match and gasoline
Respect was a term they weren't familiar with. [break][break]
In fact, there were many emotions that they failed to comprehend. "Emotions", to them, was simply a value. A value of some sort, yet not at the same time. It was a variable that coule be measured both numerically and qualitatively, categorical. However it was also something without any set numbers, no direct numbers were set, it was something that people had issues trying to pin down. The chemistry in one's brain and the biochemistry; that's what it all boiled down to. The DNA, the coding in ones cells is what gave them the ability to express emotions. It gave them the ability to form whatever, however each and every person was different. Their chemicals reacted differently. Each person reacted differently and - perhaps it was the human whose body they have stolen's curiosity - they found themselves drawn, curious. A feeling that they hadn't known about since recently possessing the young woman. Feelings, emotions, something that they can feel, now, yet at the same time grow frustrated and vexed about. [break][break]
Frustrated was yet another emotion they had yet to comprehend. While for the past bit, they were capable of smiling and expressing joy. Sleet, cyan eyes seemed to gaze down towards the pokemon at the man's legs and - though they appeared as nothing more than a young woman - attempted to intimidate the pokemon with the swarming appendages that rested at their sides. For, as far as they were concerned, no pokemon nor human had the power to stand up to them the moment they were capable of infecting a living organism. There was neither a cure for anything regarding themselves - or, so the lack of research in the field has so far said. Nevertheless, they seemed content with how they could see that smiling face, even though it was through the medium of yet another human. Admittedly, Nihilego found themselves intrigued and curious about how this turn of events came to be, but only due to their hosts' natural curiosity. [break][break]
The curiosity that killed her. [break][break]
Beady eyes and perked ears register both his words and movements, shortly before giving him another small smile. Small and while appearing genuine and childish, was as hollow as the eyes they wore. "Mhm.. I'm relieved to see that you're alright~" So they chime. Once again; happy tune, gleeful tone with slightly more genuine words. There were few who were capable of receiving a near emotionless husk's attention and affections, however the other Ultra Beasts were more than capable of turning the young beast into a gleeful ball of curiosity. "I felt the presence of another Ultra Beast here.. So I was curious. I'm glad to see that there's another one, here~" They chime again, but this time they slowly bring their gloved hands together. They worse a white jumpsuit that nearly clung to their skin, paired with a black lab coat that was draped over their shoulders in a near lazy manner. Once again, the woman smiles as she slowly approaches the significantly more familiar figure herself. The pokemon at his legs seemed to continue to glare at her, and yet the beast paid no mind to a trivial matter. [break][break]
They raise their gaze up to the man, tilting their head slightly to the side in a near curiosity. "Before I get to.. What I wanted to ask.." One of the appendages on their "hat" begins to move, its behaviour similar to that of a crab. "Why.. Are you in Lyeant? I thought you hated humans..?"

Don't get in my face, Don't invade my space I'll put you in your place
A hand to the Liepard's head was enough to calm the pokemon, the feline emitting a contented purr at the motion before sitting, waiting patiently. Even though the being before them was strange, to say the least - in both appearance and scent - there was no danger here, her trainer's actions confirmed this. She'd conent herself with watching... waiting...
Hearing that the other had felt Naganadel's presence brought the smallest of smiles to its lips, a thoughtful hum following it. "You always were the best of us when it came to sensing the others. I didn't know you were here until you called for me." The compliment was quaint, yet Naganadel found itself thankful - having another ultra beast here gave it hope, yet at the same time... it scared it. Did the humans find another way into their dimension? Their filth seeping into places it didn't belong once more?
The smile fell, turning to an irritated scowl instead - a displeased sound rumbled from deep within its chest. It was a good question, he wouldn't deny - but not a memory he was keen on bringing back up. Arms crossed, his stance changed to something more on the defensive side - and not from his partner who stood before him, "That certainly is a question, isn't it." The Ultra Beast began, voice gaining an edge before he paused - unlike Nihilego's eyes, Naganadel's showed the emotions that played in his mind - flashing with rage, clicking his tongue, "I was ripped from our world, those filthy humans had figured out how open a portal. I managed to destroy their tech - but at what cost."
Eyes closed, the beast took a couple deep breaths to steady himself before anger claimed his heart once more - that could be dangerous in this time. If nothing else, anger and rage often drove Naganadel, feeding his motives. "They then brought forth the human whose body I share and bound us together." His smile then found its way back, joined with a dark chuckle - deranged as the beast within, "But it's no matter. We kill humans in this world - It's something I can live with. For now."
With the subject, he found himself curious, eyes wandering the frame of the other Ultra Beast's current form with a slow, swift movement before meeting their gaze once more, "How about you...? How'd you find yourself tied to a human?"
Cross me once and you'll see It's like a match and gasoline
There was no danger here, as of now. Although they know that their presence is enough to send a mass into panic; they know the destruction they are capable of causing. It was only unfortunate and inefficient that they were stuck in a human woman's body, never mind that the limbs and such were already hindering their movements. They were accustomed to floating around and doing as they pleased, without worrying about whatever obstacles may get into their way. However no matter how irritating and inconvenient the body may be, it was the most effective thing they have in their arsenal. To be capable of blending in with the society around them and such, simply by removing the "hat" that gently sucked the consciousness from a man's head. Gently, but it would perhaps be the closest thing to heaven a human will ever experience without even noticing. There was no need for useless and fragile illusions; there was no need for something so dirty and dishonest. Something that brought out the true colours of a person', something that brought out the worst in everyone without the need of deceit; indeed, that enough was amuse them. Perhaps, one of the few things that could bring a smile to their face. Enough for them to label the slightly brightened emotion of "joy".. As humans liked to call it, that is. Nevertheless, this world was foreign to them. They felt like an animal throw into the wild, after being held captive for nearly their entire, pitiful life. [break][break]
It was new and it was fascinating. Though they had learned through reading the books offered by their host and all the secrets that were stashed in the twisted woman's room, they found that there was still so, so much they had yet to explore. One of those things, being the human mind. But of course, familiarity was always welcome in a land filled with strangers. It made one feel less lonely, even though their species was a relatively independant race. However this by no means points towards that no help is needed; especially not when they're trying to blend in with a society that is built on the very foundation of communication. Regardless, the beast smiled with the same empty eyes. Though their tone and the smile on their face was genuine, they seemed less than interested in whatever else may have been happening. All they were aware of, was getting some sort of food. Something to feed on, because they were getting hungry. While Nihilego could go on for long periods of time without any sorts of conscious food and such, that never stops the irrational craving. Thankfully however, the beast is still able to maintain their composure with logical thought; with courtesy of this human brain. [break][break] "I didn't know you were here until I sensed you~.. Although it's pretty hard to miss a person who's completely purple." Granted, it wasn't hard to spot a woman with deathly white skin and a hat that could be mistaken as an umbrella. Thankfully, most people around them took it as a decoration or an odd little hat. An odd hat that, other people who were less than kind decided to put onto their heads. Though it was irritating for them to take it off, they could never hide the devious smile that inevitably stretched across their lips when their prey for the day had fallen victim to the teeth jabbing themselves into the man or woman's temples, sucking out whatever consciousness they had. Yes, they both deserved it, and it was worth the abuse and wait. Let the humans come, let them corrupt. It only meant that there could be more food for them; it only meant that they could consume more, and more from the foolish humans. Humans who thought that they were beautiful and powerless. [break][break]
Just as their current appearance suggested. [break][break]
But they could tell that the man before them thought otherwise. Why was that? Was there a possibility that they were aware of the worries that burdened on the poison dragon's mind? It was clear that he held some sort of distaste, anger and otherwise towards the humans. Frankly, they found it ironic and subtly amusing to watch him scowl over his dislike towards them. They hummed at his response, legs casually shifting the weight over to lean against their back foot. "From what I could gather, they have countless of the same technology you probably destroyed." Nihilego narrows their eyes a slight bit, yet they maintain the near expressionless deadpan on their face. But for the time being, they let the beast finish up with his explanation. Though.. They didn't find it all too surprising. From what they could gather, human was going to be greedy for power and information. After all, they couldn't accept the fact that there were some things that they just didn't know, and they were compelled to research and to learn. As admirable it was, their methods were less than necessary. Hence what brought them to this point, today. [break][break]
Nihilego casually hums to themselves, arms slowly moving up to twine their fingers against one of the thinner tendrils of their "hat". "Like you, I was captured by a human." They started. Unlike the beast before them, they maintained a relatively stoic and flat tone - void of rage or emotion in general - while carelessly fiddling around with the tendril fallen in front of them. "They began to experiment with me, and one particular scientist got too close. I was surprised to see how fragile they were." Psychologically, that is. It was fascinating, but it was also because of this that they were able to gain the intelligence of a woman of her caliber. "... Her name was Sierra Holmes. I got some of her memories and the majority of her knowledge, so I learned about some things that the scientists are planning on doing." And with that, they raise their gaze back up to meet his with that innocent gleam. "I felt the presence of other Ultra Beasts in Lyeant, too. I've been trying to feed on people in Hope's Path.. But ti's difficult because most people notice the huge hat." And it was inconvenient.
