Akemi is an odd duck, by any stretch of the imagination. They tend to be blunt, stating exactly what they think and feel in any situation, for one, and they have a pretty poor understanding of human body language. This can make them look like an emotionless child on some occasions, and can easily freak out people who don't know what they're getting into. They have a relatively constant blank, somewhat curious expression on their face.[break][break]
They also have a very bad habit of not knowing what time they're currently in. By this, I don't mean "time of day", I mean the literal point in time. While, as it currently stands, their time travel abilities have been lowered a bit and it's quite exhausting, they still tend to fluctuate points in time a little bit, and as a result, will often say things they aren't supposed to know, or otherwise, not say things that most other people would be pretty sure they're supposed to know. Orchid can attest to this: Akemi tends to have conversations in the wrong order all the time. It tends to add to their level of strangeness in the eyes of others, for certain.[break][break]
It also doesn't help that Akemi has basically the worst memory sometimes. They remember things that are important to them, sure, but other details have been known to just kind of vanish somewhere in the ether of having lived more millenia than even most legendaries due to an excessive amount of time travel. Names are often just kind of lost and replaces with things like 'that person with the pretty gold eyes' or 'weird dead person'. Since, in the current situation, they're a little more restricted to one era, they're getting better about it, but they really aren't perfect at that kind of thing.[break][break]
Overall, at first glance, they come off as a little mysterious and a lot flighty to people who don't know them.[break][break]
However, that's not all that there is to them. Akemi is also the kind of person who tries to help other people constantly, to the point of self-sacrifice. They hate seeing other people or Pokemon hurt, even as they are terrible at understanding them. They will heal even the worst of people if that person comes to them for healing. At one point, they healed Giovanni of all people, for example. It doesn't matter if that person is in the right or the wrong- it's right to help people, even if Akemi shakes and hurts themselves in the process.[break][break]
They are also a little bit more screwed up than they let on at first glance, tending towards self-loathing at odd moments. They don't recognize the feelings as such, but they casually refer to themselves as a "side effect" or hurt themselves for others a lot. They're also constantly in a small amount of pain right now, due to their resticted amount of time travel. So yay?

You are only stopped from traveling backwards again by Dialga's suddenly present form. They sit there with you for a while, staring over the remnants of a region as you tremble, your hands shaking as you force yourself through. You can bring one more back. You can bring one more back. You can bring one more back.[break][break]
"Celebi," they say. "Please stop."[break][break]
It took until now for them to realize that you aren't in any way their subordinate and ask kindly and you can bring one more back just give it a chance you can bring one more back-[break][break]
"It's over, Celebi," they say. "This is a gear you can't take away. Please stop."[break][break]
You stop, readjust, then begin again.
A common misconception:[break][break]
You travel through time. You are like Dialga. You represent time. You represent forests. You are understandable, you are linear, you are bound to one shrine.[break][break]
This is incorrect. You are not time, and you certainly don't just travel through it. You are the absence of it.[break][break]
This, you have found, is much harder for people to understand, though, so they tend to pretend you actually exist properly. That's okay.
A Bayleaf sits next to you. "Akemi. You're doing the human thing again, I see," she says, and she yawns. You blink.[break][break]
"I guess I've met you?" you say, baffled.[break][break]
"Of course," mutters the Bayleaf, before she promptly headbutts your human form behind a bush and makes a whistling noise. "Of course this is when you first meet me. I shouldn't have expected otherwise, given that I've known you for years now. Why should I have expected anything else from you?"[break][break]
"Oh," you say. "That makes sense," and then a brigade of smaller grass-types surrounds you just as a group of people carrying some kind of weapon you don't recognize comes into the clearing, mumbling something about the Traveler and changing the past.[break][break]
"Just so you know," Orchid says, "I hate you." She nuzzles you fondly as she says this.[break][break]
"Okay?" you respond, not really certain what else to say- you never know quite what to say when you start having conversations in the wrong order again. Whatever's going on, though, Orchid seems to have it half under control. So that's good? That's probably good.
The person who dives in your time gates after you has the prettiest gold eyes. They're kind of distracting, actually, although there's so much yelling going on that the eyes aren't the only thing that are distracting. Also, is this what a Pokeball feels like? It's weird. It's really, really weird, did you know that? Man, and Ho-oh and Lugia were going to be all "why'd you let him go and make a Pokeball with our feathers, huh?", and it was going to be a pain...[break][break]
But. Anyway. The point- the strange masked man had used a really, really weird Pokeball to capture you, and now they were using you to travel through time, and you vaguely suspected they didn't know the consequences. There are Time Gears, and they are the things you cannot remove with your powers. You know this. You're worried, though, that he does not.[break][break]
Or, for that matter, that the boy with the pretty gold eyes doesn't.[break][break]
You hope they both end up okay.
Oh, you should probably apologize. This isn't very linear. You have a bad habit of doing that- after all, neither are you.
The world is ending. Again. Honestly, why are Kyogre and Groudon like this? It's taken you almost fifteen tries to get this one right, thanks to them, and you only got it right after holding yourself together long enough to stick into a Pokeball and dive into a boy with pretty red eye's bag. [break][break]
You are, incidentally, awfully tired of the world ending. You are, incidentally, awfully tired of trying to fix it. You will, incidentally, always do so anyway.[break][break]
So you shatter the orbs that were making Kyogre and Groudon all weird again and you put yourself to work, erasing pieces of time and one more, one more, you can bring back one more, one more time, one more time, one more time-
"Who are you," asks a Chikorita, "and can I come with you?"[break][break]
"You probably don't want to," you say. "I'm not normally human?"[break][break]
"Obviously," the Chikorita points out.[break][break]
"I have on good authority that it's really quite confusing," you warn, "I have a bad habit of leaving your Pokeball places, or just leaving you places, and then coming back in the wrong order." You pause. "It's... You told me to tell you that I've already met you at this point."[break][break]
"Well, you're Celebi, aren't you?" the Chikorita says. "Honestly, I should probably expect pure ridiculous time travel."[break][break]
"Oh," you say, and then, before you can warn her more, she noses the Pokeball. You suppose this was probably predestined at this point- you've met her in her Pokeball at times- but you spend so much time mucking around with destiny that it hurts your head.[break][break]
Instead, you just smile- you've picked up your one closest friend.
You arrive to late- you arrive to early- you arrive in the middle- you arrive at the end- you arrive too wrong-[break][break]
You arrive in Lyeant and can't fix it, no matter how you try.
"Why did Arceus make you," mutters Dialga as they twist their diamond chest around, weaving together branches of time. "Why, why, why did the creator make such a ridiculous creature?"[break][break]
"Did he?" you ask.[break][break]
"What?" Dialga responds, turning around to look at you.[break][break]
"If he did, I certainly don't remember it," you point out. "I don't think I was ever made, really- if I go backwards or forwards far enough, I just run into myself again." You shrug. "I think I'm just the side-effect?"[break][break]
Dialga stares for a long minute. "How," Dialga mutters again, rolling their eyes to the sky, "do you manage to still be confusing to a time god?"[break][break]
You shrug. Orchid lifts her head and laughs at both of you.
You are often called the Traveler, when you are in a human body, because humans are bad at recognizing that you are both Celebi and Akemi Ocasio. You gained this nickname after your name showed up in approximately seven different centuries.[break][break]
Dialga had a fit.[break][break]
You first gain your human body immediately before you first meet Orchid, running into Reshiram, who also has a fit when she has to teach you how to do it. You only think to learn to do this because you stumbled too far backwards and accidentally ran into yourself again, except you were in a weird dead person. Reshiram informs you that she just saw you doing it last Tuesday and expresses her displeasure at your tendency to time travel, but shows you how to do it anyway before Dialga can bite both of your heads off about paradoxes.[break][break]
You promptly claim your weird dead person and meet a Bayleaf for the first time, except not actually for the first time, except it's probably good that Orchid is about the only other living creature on earth that is used to doing everything in the wrong order. (She informs you later that she can mostly do this because she gave up trying to keep an internal timeline a long time ago, because doing so would just lead to her screaming into a pillow for hours.)
A common misconception:[break][break]
All legendaries believe in the creator, and are absolutely certain they were created by Them.[break][break]
This is not true, if only because you aren't entirely certain Arceus exists quite the way everyone says they do, not really. You know they almost destroyed a region, once, and you know that you had to release Pryce from a crack in time in order to stop that, but you've never really met Arceus in person and rather doubt that they could have created you if they tried. They certainly couldn't have meant to make you this way, as you told Dialga once, long ago. They couldn't have meant to make you so unstuck in time that Pokeballs (with the exception of one) were physically painful for you, couldn't have meant to make you want to help but still be scattered across time, they couldn't have meant-[break][break]
Pryce- you're pretty sure you'll meet him at some point or something- sighs. "You're feeling broken again," he says, matter-of-factly. He looks off into the distance- into the cracks of time- into whatever.[break][break]
Humans are weird.
You come across the remnants of a bomb. You don't even know why you weren't here before- you were here before- Orchid looks at you and she's just a Chikorita, she shouldn't be seeing this. You go back and you go back and you go back and you go back and-[break][break]
"You're the Traveler," someone says. "You can help heal us, can't you?"[break][break]
Your hands shake and you try but here's the thing: you can't exist in one time, you can't keep traveling forever. You can't fix one place forever. You are using up all of your miracles. Dialga's stopped looking at you like an annoyance, now, and Price, when he is there, is getting that odd look.[break][break]
"I'll do my best," you agree, and you go back and you go back and you go back-
You didn't get to see Orchid evolve but once, when she finally evolves into Meganium. You watch with wide eyes- you knew she would, you spend your (time is relative but you suppose you can call it years) seeing her in all three evolutionary states, but pride echoes across you anyway.[break][break]
It is a good day.
The masked man is Pryce and the golden-eyed boy turns out fine and a Lapras finally gets to see his parents again and you think: this is why I heal people.[break][break]
And you think: maybe I'm okay, after all.
You're weirdly trapped now, in Lyeant, because you said you would heal it and you know you can't completely undo it so you have to go slowly, slowly, it takes a long time, and if you've promised to heal here you can only jump around in the aftermath.[break][break]
At one point, someone asks you who you affiliate with, and you shrug, because you don't really understand humans. You will help anyone- technically you guess the Association, since they're on the fence, but you'll help anyone.[break][break]
That's mostly okay, at least- you need to spend the next (time is relative and it's hard to tell) healing Lyeant, because you couldn't before it even broke.
You wave hello to a shop owner and call them by name and they frown at you. "Did I ever tell it to you?"[break][break]
In the background, Orchid shakes her head- she's a Meganium today, she's been a Meganium for a while now, there's something odd going on with your weird dead person. That's okay.[break][break]
It'll be okay.[break][break]
It has to be.
