There was a time when she was human. She was born to a pair of humans, or so her grandparents told her. Far as she knew, they never spewed falsities worse than the typical white lies told to children, so she was confident they were truthful about her heritage.[break][break]
Ecruteak was, in her opinion, an "old person's city". Given its traditional atmosphere and historical edifices, it was no wonder the city attracted elderly people of all sorts. Her grandparents were no exception, selecting the location for their retirement. Children her age were few and far between; they certainly had to exist in the city, but its size made tracking them down difficult.[break][break]
Fortunately, there was someone out there for her. Not only were they her age, they took an instant liking to her, and vice versa. As they quickly discovered, they were quite far apart in personality, her friend much more lively and optimistic than she was. They were night and day, ice and fire, hell and heaven, and so forth. Yet their differences steeled their bond, as they knew they could rely on one another to supply their own perspective on a situation.[break][break]
Together, they began their own stereotypical Pokémon journey. Their guardians allowed them passage to Kanto, but restricted they go any further than both regions' boundaries. During their travels, they never left one another's side for longer than a few days (even they needed a break from one another from time to time). They got along for the most part; bickering amongst them wasn't nonexistent, but it was more uncommon than any person observing them might imagine.[break][break]
Once they'd tired of their travels, the two returned to Ecruteak and carried about with their lives for a short period of time. Of course, at that point they each had their own Pokémon and were more than eager to train them or battle other Trainers. They sparred against one another on multiple occasions, their wins and losses practically equal.[break][break]
The two friends were in their midteens when her grandparents announced they'd won four tickets to the faraway land of Lyeant. They (the grandparents) were intentionally conspicuous at hinting that their granddaughter invite her friend. She did so without hesitation; after a brief meeting between her grandparents and her friend's parents, it was decided that they'd be able to come with. The two were excited—this was their first time traveling overseas.[break][break]
Their trip marked the beginning of tragedy.[break][break]
Her grandparents allowed them to stray from them so long as they maintained a reasonable distance, i.e., didn't travel too far away. They followed this condition to a tee, staying close to the city they'd taken up temporary residence in. Their routine wasn't unlike that of their earlier journey's: They'd train their Pokémon and seek out others to capture, maybe battle the occasional Trainer or two. Not once did they feel unsafe; after all, they had each other.[break][break]
They never expected to be kidnapped by Team Imum.[break][break]
She tried to forget the excessive pain she experienced, the tortured shrieks that erupted from both her and her friend, the noxious fetor of chemicals and Arceus knew what else, the compact cell space she had to stay in before she was dumped at some random location. But she couldn't, as the pair of large, black wings—Honchkrow wings—she now toted served as a constant reminder. It wasn't the only change: Her luck increased drastically in the sense that she would frequently find herself in fortuitous situations. Finding money on the ground everywhere she went, stumbling across a stranger who was willing to guide her back to where she was staying despite her freakish appearance, being unbothered by wild Pokémon as she walked the untouched lands.[break][break]
Unfortunately, her Super Luck failed to help her reunite with both her grandparents and her friend. According to the innkeeper (whose fearful gaze told her he believed he'd be harmed if he kept mum), her guardians abruptly left to search for the two and hadn't been back since. Though she yearned to see them again, she was afraid they'd treat her the same as the majority: like a monster.[break][break]
❝Well, then, if I'm to be treated as a monster, I might as well play the part!❞[break][break]
She camped out in forested areas, attacking unsuspecting travelers as they passed nearby. She never targeted people erratically; she specifically went for those who set off a bad vibe. When Imum attacked Lyeant, she shifted all her attention to those terrible excuses for human beings, not only pilfering whatever they carried on them but also inflicting great damage—just enough to keep them suffer.[break][break]
After everything quieted down, she hid herself for a good while, using the time to practice flying. She captured a few Flying types to observe their flights and attempted to emulate them. Thanks to her newfound Ability, she was able to quickly develop the skill and become a pro. It was the only time she didn't resent her fortune.[break][break]
It wasn't long after she'd mastered flying that she returned to a forested area near one of the main paths travelers took, prepared to continue her routine. During that time, she overheard talk of the different factions that had formed as a result of the aftermath. One quip in particular caught her interest: "The Republic allows any person in, even if they're the scum of the earth." Believing those words applied to her, she chose to ally with the faction. She quickly became a devout follower of its principles, carrying out her own sense of retribution on the wicked.[break][break]
She gained notoriety amongst a fraction of opposing faction members—especially those in Parallax—who knew people who'd fallen victim to her. Not that she minded; on the contrary, she basked in her infamy. Thanks to many successful ambushes (she probably had her Ability to thank for some of those), she never went a day without eating and even managed to purchase a rustic adobe house (from a frightened realtor) just outside Aria Village. This was her life, and she was completely satisfied with the way it was. ...No, almost completely satisfied:[break][break]
She missed her friend dearly.

there is nothing left to take, but i still try to reach. try to swallow it all down, yet i can't seem to breathe. just a single pill of mine, nothing else would suffice - i take it in, now i'm alive. my phone is set on lock, and i don't really care. there's a tangle and a knot that i cannot repair. i'm a tragedy, i'm ugly, i'm trying to hide. i say "hello", then wave "goodbye". see me fall down - let me die here slowly. nothing goes right, not a trace of honestly. i'm to blame, so i'll remain. black, white; day, night; it's all the same. see it run down - cut away, no worries. say no more. i can surely say that i've had enough. i still refuse to believe.

PLOT IDEA #1
every day would be the same. nothing more, little change. if i cared, it would mean nothing: it's all such a pain. friendly bonds are so unneeded, i don't give a dang. a busy life is what i am. could it be that family was a way of escape? didn't know if it was right, so i threw them away. couldn't take it anymore, i had taken enough, so then i hide my need for love.[break][break]
PLOT IDEA #2
lay me right down, let me sleep, i'm restless. cover my eyes. when i'm up, i'll finally fade away, here, today. give me a reason: then i'll stay. if i could fly, if for only a moment, there wouldn't be such a need for casualty. i'm alone, and that is how it'll be.
