The town in which they grew up in was filled with liars, killers and thieves and to survive you had to play their game which was difficult for Cid especially. Luckily his mind was as sharp as any blade and he used that to advantage to always be one step ahead. It was this brilliant mind of his that lead him to discover his love for knowledge and learning more about the world around him. That along with his love for Pokémon was enough to keep him going outside of his sister. Cid eventually devised a plan to escape and flee the town, leaving it behind forever. But in the attempt there was an accident which resulted in the destruction of the town, the sight of it burning forever etched into Cid’s mind along with the sounds people screaming. They finally had their freedom and with it they were able to live their dreams to the fullest. It was hard to believe at the time as the siblings weren’t used to not having to worry about dealing with the terrors but it was something they were happy to adjust to. [break][break]
Things only got better as they were given a chance at aiming for their dreams, both enrolling in school due to their abilities and intelligence along with being taken in by a loving well off couple. Both did well in their schooling, Cid aiming to become a researcher and doctor while his sister aimed to be more field research orientated. Battling was also a fun pastime for the two, both often making bets to see who could go the longest without losing. Now adults the two went their separate ways for the first time as their studies and careers took them elsewhere. [break][break]
Cid furthered his education, working under the tutelage of a respected scientist while his sister was already out in the world doing her field research and making strides. Cid's teacher was an eccentric scientist that not many took seriously or wanted to be associated with but after reading one of his research papers Cid had to. It was from this strange man that Cid learned many of the secrets of the world and his mind was filled with theories, legends, myths and more. His thirst for knowledge and the unknown grew more as well as an interest perspective on the world.[break][break]
From time to time the two would work together on some sort of project or another or his sister took him out to the field. It is from his sister that Cid learned to be quite in tune with Pokémon and able to handle them with a sincere and warm touch. Cid, not wanting anything to do with this anymore, left his parents to their hole in the ground despite his sister’s protest. The whole experience brought back too many terrible memories for him, too many to stick around.[break][break]
It had also ignited a hatred that he thought he buried a long time ago. Hatred for the people in that town and for those like them, a burning hatred from all the cruelty and destruction caused all throughout the world. He needed some distance and as such he got as far away from his parents as possible. Cid was a fool for thinking this was the right decision to make as he got a disturbing call from his parents. His sister had gotten caught up in their games and found herself in trouble and having no one else to turn to Cid’s parents turned to him. [break][break]
Cid was too late however, his sister having fallen prey to some small local criminal organization that his parents owed money to. He tried his best to save his sister but he was too late, however in her dying breathe she shared some last words with her brother before passing. Cid snapped, taking his anger out on all those who he believed responsible. First, the scum physically responsible for her death faced his wrath and received no mercy. Next were his parents who he was the angriest with outside of himself and they were only sparred due to the words his sister gave him stopping him from carrying out his vengeance. [break][break]
Emotionally drained and tired of his life Cid retreated, hiding from the world for some time to deal with the dark place he was in. After some time he came back into the world, completely reinventing him and living his life the way he and his sister used to speak about when they were young. Using his connections and talents Cid started a small organization which focused on research, care, discover and advancement, its main goal being to make the world a better place for all of its inhabitants and bringing the world to newer and better heights. They also focused on the study of gijinkas seeing how their existence was still quite a mystery and of course they only took volunteers. [break][break]
The organization only got bigger and bigger to the point where it rivaled some of the bigger worldwide corporations in term of size and resources. Not only do they act as a place to care for Pokémon and do research but they also fund expeditions, teach people how to handle and care for Pokémon, battling and proper trainer etiquette and advancements in technology and acting as a shelter for those in need just to name a few. Cid now sits as its founder and head director, still being quite involved in the inner workings of the organization and keeps a friendly and personal relationship with much of the members in the organization, having a quite warm and welcoming work environment where everyone is treated with respect and care. All of this hides the broken man that Cid is on the inside the optimistic, hopefully, kind soul gone and replaced with one that constantly feels hollow. But he has big plans for this world and he won't let anything stop him.

lay me right down, let me sleep, i'm restless. cover my eyes. when i'm up, i'll finally fade away, here, today. give me a reason: then i'll stay. if i could fly, if for only a moment, there wouldn't be such a need for casualty. i'm alone, and that is how it'll be.
