With a rarely seen sliver of softness in his icy gaze and gentle expressions of sympathy to those in need, there was no doubt a time long ago when Wulfram Fritzerike walked a wholesome life—one wherein he lived up to his man-given title as the jubilee pokemon. One wherein he was surrounded by friends and family in the bustling Hearthome City, spread laughter and luck with the brightest of smiles, chased after dreams and a fervent love of music. How long ago such a spell was or when that moment changed forevermore is a recollection that presents itself only in pieces from the countless series of unfortunate events to haunt him since then and now.

[break][break]Despite being a gijinka, the secret was easy enough to keep from the ears of dangerous individuals that his life was no less a sheltered one than an ordinary human's, though it was only natural he was raised to be cautious around people. Even so, discovery was inevitable with time, or perhaps in an ironic twist of fate, misfortune had a greater attraction to him than he imagined. What began as a slow, innocent foot set upon the road to fame in the entertainment industry became a misplaced trust in the people he worked alongside, in tandem with the vicious enemies spawned from unwanted rivalries. Before he knew it, he was kidnapped without a trace, and sold off in the underground.

[break][break]Like the many regions he was forced to traverse in his captivity, young Wulfram was passed through the hands of a small few, none any more gracious in their treatment towards him than the last, but each claiming ownership for different purposes: to exploit his abilities (or attempt, at least), to parade as a trophy, or even keep as some kind of pet. Yet of these, the worst came last, when he landed in the clutches of a Team Imum member, crazed with an obsession for gijinka research and the biology of. Thus, also being carted off to Lyeant, he was subjected to experiments aplenty, serving as project material for endless years until recently.

[break][break]When Team Imum seemingly vanished from existence, an abandoned Wulfram was left on his death throes amidst the remnants. Though a quiet retreat into solitude, away from the strife he so detested, was an earnest want with newfound freedom, his health was worn and worse for wear from years of guinea pigging, forcing a search for succor. Succor which, unfortunately, could only come from those most-versed in the world's technological advancements. Constantly wracked by illness and nigh dependent on medications to keep himself from physically falling apart, Parallax appeared to be his only viable option.

[break][break]Of course, there was no way the recently liberated gijinka could afford to appease the money-hungry organizations who could aid him, and once again he found himself bound by metaphorical collar and leash to the compromise he received: serve for the greater good of Parallax, promote their influence and growing power in the rebuilding region, and they would provide the help he needed. Though his heart is pained to choose a side and support a cause he may not necessarily agree with, what choice does he have in a matter of life or death?

[break][break]In the year following Team Imum's fall, Wulfram spent his time recovering enough to function properly on a normal basis. Once he could, so started another lifetime of servitude to maintain his health, in the only two ways he was willing and able to provide: helping others out as a nurse when he could, and re-pursuing a spot under the limelight. Though his conditions demand being a poster boy for Parallax, being able to return to his former passions has been a step up from his previous circumstances, making most of his complaints, if any, but a hushed whisper... for now, at least.

the jubilee pokemon

One of the primary reasons Wulfram would be sought after is an innate ability to bless others, although what this blessing actually entails is a bit vague. The general populace presumes it relates to fortune and good luck, or making people feel joy, but whether this is actually within his power or a mere placebo effect is a matter of perspective in his opinion (especially since it certainly has not worked out for himself), but the invisible statistics do seem to support the idea of his presence bringing serendipity.

[break][break]Speculations aside, he does have a few practical abilities at his disposal, though he is unable to employ them as effectively as he could have in the past due to his current state of health. Some semblance of ESP and psychic prowess is a minor one, namely centered around telekinesis but also includes generating protective barriers or shields. His most desired skill of previous and prospective owners, however, is his restorative power, capable of mending injuries to a degree depending on severity and his own stamina, or temporarily easing afflictions and sickness.

[break][break]Physically speaking, Wulfram looks not so different from an ordinary human that he can easily maintain a facade (especially being disabled and weak in comparison to the ordinarily sturdy gijinka). The only notable features he carries if unhidden are his wings and capacity for flight (which is moreso a form of levitation). Tangentially is a minor proficiency in wind manipulation, in order to perform offensive maneuvers.

AGE 0-15・A child musician/singer and actor raised in Hearthome, Sinnoh, with dreams of bringing happiness through music and entertainment. His status as a gijinka was unknown to many except a select few, though in present day he makes no real efforts to hide or advertise it.[break]
AGE 16-20・Someone (presumably whom he trusted, or a rival in the industry found out) leaked this information, and he was kidnapped as a teenager, promptly auctioned off in the black market. His ownership has passed through the hands of several, until he was taken by a researcher of Imum, who eventually traveled to Lyeant.[break]
AGE 21-25・From then until the fall of Imum, he was studied and experimented on to the point where he is now constantly crippled by illness and weakness. He, unfortunately, could not live without Imum, and had no choice but to hastily seek medical help from Parallax when they disappeared and abandoned him.[break]
AGE 26+・For roughly a year now, he has since returned to the spotlight, only begrudgingly as a poster boy for Parallax in order to repay his debts and sustain his deteriorating health. After additionally having learned some proficiency in medical arts (for both man and pokemon) from his time as a test subject, he may also play nurse in times of emergency.

Whilst his exterior is a bit thorny and rough around the edges, Wulfram is inherently a gentle sweetheart, especially considering he's a togekiss. He is benevolent in everything he does, except is forced to keep a cautious outlook towards people for all that has been done to him in his history. His distant nature and obstinate (read: sassy) defense mechanisms notwithstanding, he is fairy laid-back and easy to befriend with the right amount of patience and reasonable allotment of personal space. Regardless of the person or what they have done, he tends to give his all for others, even at the cost of his own well-being.

For Wulfram to hate someone is a rare occurrence, as he is inclined to forgive people more than forget, though he does and has been made aware that some people are flat-out irredeemable, and responds to such as necessary. When his buttons get pushed, or his anxieties flare, he may brandish an unflattering attitude that earns him more dislike and misunderstanding than intended. Thus, he definitely cannot be lauded as someone who is always in everyone's good graces, but he would never actively go out of his way to earn/spread contempt or bring harm to others.

Honestly, anything from the above could turn into a romance (if there's a will, there's a way?), so this is open to whatever. I do prefer to see how things play out in-character (considering the things I plan go in a completely opposite direction more than half the time), but feel free to give a heads up or throw plot bunnies just for me to keep in mind.
