Your earliest memories are coloured bright, filled with golden sunbeams and azure skies. You remember fields of flowers, of sweet scents and pastel colours, of loving embraces and carefree days, of puzzle pieces and musical plays. You remember when your second sibling was born, (a girl), when the third and the fourth, (a boy and a girl) followed. You aren’t the oldest though - an elder brother is there to take care of you, to play with you when your parents can’t. He is the one you look up to, as your younger siblings do to the both of you.[break][break]
You remember your early days to be blessed - whatever you want, you got. Monetary issues never plague your family; well off enough to let you troublesome five (teasingly, of course, adults always teased) chase your dreams, no matter how wild they were. You remember your first friends (pokemon, you never got along with other kids outside your family), remembered the ups and downs you got yourselves into (it wasn’t your fault - the vase had pretty flowers and you just want to eat them, blame whoever put it there in plain sight!) and how they always had your back.[break][break]
You remember, just barely, your first school - kindergarten, where you were babysat by a young woman who seemed to know no better. She treats you as well as she can but it is always so obvious that she has no idea what she is doing - when the kids fight, she is busy with one thing or the other, leaving the lot of you to solve the issues by yourselves. Still, you remember the times, fondly, when you (with some help from your friends!) beat up a bully - and got away with it. You like to think it was because you planned the ‘ambush’ perfectly, that you had the perfect alibi, but really you know it’s because no one liked that boy and even kids your age knew how to stick up for each other against a threat.[break][break]
You’re older now, older enough to know better - it’s primary school, where students are coddled until recess, then left to their own devices. At first, you remember how lonesome it was- your only friend there was your brother, but he had a different schedule from you; you rarely bumped into each other at school and even when you do, he had his own friends to attend to. But you make it work - you make friends even though it is hard, even though you know that after you graduate you would likely never hear from them again (your bonds with others were never that strong). The bonds you built with others were just for convenience, to make school life just slightly ever more interesting.[break][break]
You survive - through the bullying, teasing and pressure you maintain your grades, topping the class over and over. You prosper - unlike others who struggle with their academics, unlike those who lag behind, you are bounding forwards, studying material not for your age. This, you remember, is where your joy in these years came from, as you moved further and further away from the social world. Books, thick books which pages numbered into the hundreds, are your daily companion aside from your friends - your pokemon. It sets you apart, but you never minded - you know you are different and you find solace in that.[break][break]
After all, your siblings are the same and even if they can connect to others better you know they will always have your back, as you will have theirs. You go through the motions together - it’s not long before your three other siblings join you at school, not long before the five of you pick up musical instruments as a quintet, not long before the five of you are gardening together, helping out and learning how to do household chores. They are your only true friends outside of your pokemon, the only ones who carelessly worry for you, sincerely and whole-heartedly. They are the only ones who understand you - elder family members aside.[break][break]
It’s no secret among your family that your mother is different - she’s no normal human, a gijinka instead. While the family never hates her for it (never hate, always love) she hides it from prying eyes - you barely understand why but you and your siblings know to keep the truth in the family, even when to all of you being different from the norm seems like a blessing. [break][break]
You never thought you could be like her, especially when you don’t share any obvious physical traits with a pokemon. It’s only after two incidents occur - when you’re almost kidnapped and when the bullying in secondary school takes a turn for the worse - that you start to suspect, confiding in your mother who thankfully treats your worries seriously. It’s not that you no longer wish to be like her - it’s that you have no idea what’s going on and that scares you. [break][break]
You find out that you’re a Zorua gijinka, with the ability to create illusions - still, like the fox pokemon, you can only alter how your appearance looks like to others, nothing more. It’s nothing grand like the way your mother spews out flames, but it still means you’re like her and you take pride in that - and that’s when your siblings, older and younger alike, start all kinds of trouble in order to push themselves and see if they too hold any powers within. Only two do not possess any kind of ability, but they’re okay with that - they congratulate you and the others and nothing’s changed except for your schedules, with your mother training you and your gijinka siblings to control your powers. [break][break]
You make it through the rest of your academic life (quickly, since you skipped grades) and to the international bureau, joining as one of their younger officers. At first, you remember thinking your relationships with your coworkers will be as distant as with your schoolmates, but you’re proven wrong. Even if you’re new on the job, they care for you - that much is evident and it’s with them that you find a second family, one that manages to teach you social skills (Somewhat. At least you’re less awkward around others.).[break][break]
For a while you tail a senior, learning the ropes from them and working with them on their cases. Then, after you’ve proven yourself, after you’re older enough to work alone, the two of you split and you’re allowed more freedom in what you do. While you don’t always get your man (it sucks, it really does, but it’s never you that screws up.) you still find enjoyment in your job even through all the headaches and heartbreaks it causes. [break][break]
You’re promoted - now you have to look after those under your rank with your fellows and it’s a job you pride yourself in; even if you won’t admit it, you care for your coworkers as much as they do for you. Which is why, when you’re assigned a more dangerous case, one of your teammates insists on following. His reasoning is sound - he’s backup, just in case something goes wrong and help is immediately needed, so you let him follow, thinking that all will be fine. But it doesn’t turn out that way - he loses his life in the region of Hoenn and you lie bleeding, shot, beside him. [break][break]
My name is Jirachi, the wish-maker. For as long as I can remember, people from all over the world have been looking for me. It’s pretty obvious why - they want me to grant them their wishes. But there’s a problem with that - I can only properly grant three wishes every thousand years, after which I go to sleep until my wish tags clear up. [break][break]
See, whenever someone makes a wish on me - on my third eye - one of the wish tags that dangle from my body gets filled up and it’s only then that I can really do what can be considered ‘wonders’. These wish tags only ‘reset’ themselves after a long period of time - I never kept track, but they’re definitely gone by the time I wake up. [break][break]
Still, even if I can’t create objects out of thin air or reverse really bad things, I can still…sort of grant wishes? Um...I can teleport a lot of things - like I can teleport a group of people! Or pokemon! Or things! So like if I’m still awake and out of wish tags and someone says….wishes for ice cream, I can still technically grant that wish by teleporting some random ice cream from somewhere into their hands! I...don’t really know where I get the item from, though I can pinpoint my teleportations with a degree of accuracy if the wisher has an idea of where I should take the item they want from.[break][break]
Even if my intentions are pure - all I really want is to see people be happy, all I want is to help them - sometime the people who look for me don’t share my sentiments. It’s sad, but there are bad people out there who want to use me like a tool! And it scares me, especially since I know that they can use me to hurt a lot of good people, and I don’t want that. It’s why everytime I go to sleep I try to hide myself and it helps that I can form a crystalline shell around me while I rest and that I can sleep-fight! [break][break]
It still doesn’t change anything if they do manage to get their hands on me though, since if they know what to do they can still get me to bring to reality their wishes. ...It sometimes doesn’t really help that I also can’t always tell that they’re bad…? But, anyway! What I mean to say is that this is why I’m always so happy that there are good people out there to counter the bad ones! So that they can save me! [break][break]
Like...those kids - the Dex Holders! Recently, during the seven days in which I would have naturally been awake, I woke up near this Battle Frontier place and was being chased around by these two humans who wanted to catch me! At first, I managed to escape them, but then the mean one got me and I had to make a big bad monster as a result.[break][break]
I guess it’s good that immediately after he thought that I wouldn’t be of any more use and tossed me aside? Because then this boy came over and tried to get me to make his wish come true - of course, I wouldn’t listen at first, but I did afterwards - which was a wish to free five other humans from stone. [break][break]
Of course this good deed got me back on the bad man’s radar and he got me - again. I’m still upset with that! But anyway, he made me use Doom Desire on the humans, but luckily, they managed to stop him in the end. My last wish was used up by a man who asked for a lot of visitors to the Frontier and I was more than happy to grant it. Of course, with the last wish made and my time awake coming to an end, I had to leave - and as my protective shell started to form, the boy, Emerald, said his thanks and goodbyes to me.[break][break]
Honestly, I’d love to see him again, to see how he and his friends are doing! But, well, when you go to sleep for as long as I do...that’s kind of impossible - humans just don’t live that long. It’s not like I haven’t felt sad before though - I’ve met my fair share of people who I like - so I was confident that I’d get over it by my next awakening.[break][break]
At first, I thought this sleep would be like any other - you know, only waking up after a thousand years had passed? But as it turns out...it really wasn’t. Not that it’s bad, since...well...let me backtrack. See, I fell asleep in Hoenn - as I always do - and when I’m asleep I’m not completely oblivious to my surroundings. I am able to pick up on the outside world, even if it’s only in my immediate surroundings and only just barely. But it was still enough to hear this man...[break][break]
Everything happened so quickly and so near to my hiding place that I’ll admit that at first I was scared that they’d find me. Because, as I’ve said, I don’t really like to be disturbed, especially since there are bad people out there. Thankfully, they never got any closer to me than where they were - I could feel from my surroundings that two were unmoving while the rest fled so that kind of piqued my interest, since I really thought they were after me and had broken out into a fight over what they’d do with me.[break][break]
But the runners made it clear that wasn’t the case. So I focused my attention, my powers, and listened. Someone was apologising, crying, softly singing as his voice got weaker and weaker - and at the same time he was wishing so hard that I just… I can’t explain it, but well...I decided to do something I hadn’t done in a long time - to wake up, bond with this person and see if there was anything I could do to help. [break][break]
He was my...third, I think, host - one of the rare people who I decided to share a body with. I’ll admit I do feel kind of bad for forcing my own consciousness into his body but he was so weak that I didn’t dare waste any more time. If I wanted to save him, then I had to act fast - so I took over control and through the pain and tiredness managed to heal his body enough so that he wouldn’t perish. Then, I let the both of us take a rest - his body fell to sleep and we communicated in our dreams.[break][break]
To be honest, he wasn’t exactly happy with what I did, which just made me all the more curious about him. Because I’m very sure he was wishing for a second chance and I gave it to him, didn’t I? So why wasn’t he happy? I decided to stick around just for that and upon our shared body awakening, teleported us and the body back to his police place thing.[break][break]
The incident occurred a little more than a year ago and ever since Lucian and Jirachi have been together, even though they are completely different individuals, with the former slowly warming up to the pokemon. Of course, they’ve had their fair share of fights - just as all friends do - but it’s only served to make their bond stronger. Through thick and thin they’ve stuck together and Jirachi has since come to be Lucian’s confident, for there are even things he can no longer tell his family about. Even though Jirachi's lengthy hibernation means that he may not always be the best person to turn to for advice, Lucian still values his friend's words, for there are just some things where a child's input is needed.[break][break]
Despite returning to work as soon as he was able, Lucian was not allowed to resume his normal duties - as he was now bonded with a legendary pokemon, he needed to train with Jirachi. For one, this was because the legendary had a nasty habit of taking control in the worst possible moments and his superiors wanted to avoid Jirachi coming out, for example, during an interrogation and trying to befriend a suspect through hugs. [break][break]
For another, with Jirachi now co-inhabiting his body, Lucian found that he grew tired much more easily - several aspects of the pokemon were bleeding over into his own body and he needed to get used to the changes. For last, he could use a degree of Jirachi's powers, meaning that he now had new abilities he had to train with - the first day back on the job he had unconsciously wished for a whiny newbie to shut up and accidentally caused duct tape to appear over the man's mouth. His superiors, quite rightly, wished to avoid any further incidents and so made training with Jirachi a must.[break][break]
Before he could resume his normal duties, he had a probationary period where he was stuck with his old senior in order to make sure Jirachi didn't make a mess of things. Once it was clear that Lucian and Jirachi were working as a perfect team and Jirachi only came out when the pokemon knew it would be safe to do so, he was allowed to take on his old work. However, he was soon assigned to a new post - to the Lyeant region, to New Veherna where he was to aid the officers there. Of course, he was still part of the bureau and the bureau's own work came first, so if he ever received a case from the bureau during his time in Lyeant, he still had to take it and tackle it first. Not that he minded, of course, it just meant more work for him but he was used to that.[break][break]
So together, Jirachi and Lucian moved to the Lyeant region, carefully balancing out Lucian's work and their needs, with Jirachi taking a more active role in Lucian's social life. After all, the pokemon figured that the man himself would never socialise without the proper motivation and he just couldn't stand for them not having any friends in the new region - it'd just get boring!

It’s not like I haven’t felt sad before though - I’ve met my fair share of people who I like - so I was confident that I’d get over it by my next awakening.[break][break]
have this wish i wish tonight
I decided to stick around just for that and upon our shared body awakening, teleported us and the body back to his police place thing.[break][break]
when two worlds collide
After all, the pokemon figured that the man himself would never socialise without the proper motivation and he just couldn't stand for them not having any friends in the new region - it'd just get boring!

times were changing, eighteen years and fading. ain't a lot of time left to be a star. on an island, all alone and dying - walk upon the water, but you won't get far. dreams and visions tied into decisions. saw you on a postcard from the other side. hope and glitter, never feeling bitter. walk upon the water just to be your bride. don't tell me now that there is nothing more. there is a how, just like there is a door. and if there's not to be another way, you tell me why, why, why.
[break][break]
stay and follow if the words are hollow. gotta go along 'cause it's all you got. each day, earn them. turn around and burn them. think you're fitting in, but you hope you're not. neatly drowning. every drink, you're downing. if you drink enough, you'll forget the game. each illusion wrapped in absolution. live your life in weekends, but it's not the same. don't tell me now that there is nothing more. there is a how, just like there is a door. and if there's not to be another way, you tell me why, why, why, why.
