It started on a weekend in May.[break]I was looking for attention, needed intervention. |

For as long as he can remember, Kyogre has always had a feud with Groudon. Every millennium the two would wake up and fight, only to be put back to sleep by Rayquaza. Only, this time his awakening was thanks to Team Aqua and their plans of increasing the size of the ocean. Of course, this was fine with Kyogre; more sea equaled more space for him to roam and more room for the water Pokémon who dwelled in the sea. It seemed that the PA didn’t like that though, for some of the Gym Leaders had been sent out to deal with him. Like the Legendary he was, he was too mighty for them; after all, not even Groudon could take him down! He might’ve had some help from Team Aqua, but no one had to know that. And thus he continued on his way.
[break][break]
His plans for more sea were halted when Groudon showed up; it was time to continue their battle. And of course though he really hadn’t mean to, the way they battle is enough to cause some bad energy to start enveloping the area. The damage wouldn’t get far though; because although the leaders couldn’t beat him, they were able to contain it thanks to some help from the titans. No matter what anyone said, Kyogre believed that he would’ve won had it not been for Rayquaza, and those cursed orbs, showing up and putting a stop to his water parade. Kind of miffed, he decided to give up for the time being and head back to the cavern so that he could go back to sleep until the next battle.
[break][break]
Which…happened nearly four years later. While a much shorter slumber than what he was used to, it was once again thanks to someone getting a hold of those stupid orbs. Oh how he dreaded that. Just let him be in control and he’d get the job done! Sheesh, people. This time it seemed that the people knew how to use the orbs correctly since Kyogre was given much more power. He was able to even blast people out of the sky! And while he had assumed that he was being woken up to make the oceans bigger, instead he was being woken up to save the world? Yeah, he’s pretty awesome. Who else got woken up just to do that??Yes, he’s aware that Groudon got woken up too. But he can pretend that Groudon was never there!
[break][break]
It was during this time that he was also taken to a village in order to learn a new move, in only a day mind you. This was the move that would allow him, with the help of a few others, to destroy the chunk of meteoroid. If a piece of that destroyed meteor falling onto him was what made him normal again and knocked him out…well…no one had to know about that. Because yes, that did happen. He ended up staying in there for a while until he was able to wake up and make his way back to the ocean.
[break][break]
During that time is when things finally started to change. He had kind of gotten tired of leading the life he had been leading. All it was was a continuation of waking up and fighting the same old battle, with the same Groudon and Rayquaza, and suffering the same sleeping fate. He wanted a change! He wanted to actually see what was so great about the land that people wouldn’t let him flood! And he’d get his chance in the form of a cop that went sailing. The cop had seemed good enough at it, but fate would make his boat capsize and the cop would end up drowning. This was when Kyogre entered the scene. As he felt the cops soul start to leave the body, he made his move and took over. The man had thrown up a slight fit over it, but what could he do? He was dying and Kyogre’s soul was too strong for him to fight. He ended up giving control to the water beast.
[break][break]
When Kyogre made it back to town, now in control of the body, he knew he couldn’t stay there. This guy had a life that Kyogre didn’t particularly care for. So, he packed up the Pokémon “Landon” had and moved to a new part of Hoenn, one further away than from where Landon had been. He kept to himself for a while as he tried to figure out just what he could do and where he could go. It didn’t take long to realize that if he were to go anywhere, he’d need money. After looking around for a while, a position opened up at a bar. Though he had never served alcohol before, he was quick to pick up the different drinks and how to make them. He’d come to realize just how glad he was to pick up that job in time.
[break][break]
Not long after he got the job, a stranger arrived in town, one from a completely different region. Kyogre and Lunala got along really well after talking; so well in fact, that Lunala actually went home with him. They went through the phases of friendship fairly quickly and soon became nearly inseparable. This was new territory for Kyogre. He had always been alone in his sleep and now he had someone to call his best friend. The only thing bad? He had started to develop feelings for the other. It was fairly easy to see that Lunala was in the same boat. And after a long talk, that involved confessions on both sides, he was content. He had someone that could deal with his quirks. And if Lunala became a bit of a distraction from what Kyogre really wanted, well, he was fine with that.
[break][break]
A few years had come and gone and in that time Kyogre had been able to save up enough money to be able to travel quite comfortably. So he started to look into the different regions. Upon coming across Lyeant, it was easy to see the bad state that the region was in. Since he’d fought for things before, he knew that they could potentially use his help. It didn’t take much to get Lunala to come with him, and there was a part of him that said he wouldn’t go if he hadn’t been able to talk him into it, so the two ventured over to the Lyeant Region.
[break][break]
Although they fit together and had similar views, they went into two different groups. It wasn’t like Kyogre to mind all that much; he wasn’t controlling after all. Of course he wanted Pokémon to be freer than how the other groups wanted them, so Republic was the way to go. It didn’t help that he was willing to flood some areas for more room as well.
[break][break]
And thus, Kyogre began bartending at night while simultaneously working for the Republic whenever they needed him. Though he wanted more space for the wild Pokémon, there was also a part that wanted the least amount of causalities possible. This wasn’t his fight at the beginning, but he was sure that he’d be there until the end. And depending on who the victor was, that would help him choose where to go next. He just hoped that Groudon and Rayquaza hadn’t taken up other vessels as well.
