She genuinely looked up to her. Himeka Yukino was her older sister as well as role model. But Noel Yukino always seemed to be seen as second best, even by her parents. Of course she didn't notice because she was young and only interested in interacting with her older sister, spending as much time together as possible. Noel was always seen as something of a duckling to her older sister since she would follow Himeka everywhere in their hometown of Fuschia City without questions because she knew that her big sister would protect her no matter what happened. No matter how dangerous the situation was, Himeka wouldn't let her get hurt.[break][break]

But one day something changed. Her big sister kept as far away as possible and refused to get anywhere near Noel. This scared her terribly, but she had to know why. The Himeka she knew would never do something like this, no matter how bad the situation. So Noel approached her big sister and bluntly asked what was going on, only to get an answer that shook her to the core. It left her with legs that wouldn't move and she was rooted to the spot in shock.[break][break]

Noel was ruining her sister's image.[break][break]

After recovering, she tried once again to speak to her sister. To find out the REAL reason why she wasn't being around her but the answer was exactly the same. Himeka kept saying that she was so weak that she couldn't been seen in public by her side without getting humiliated. Especially someone with her potential. So Noel finally decided to just let it be and step down from her sister's side, just letting herself fade away into the background.[break][break]

Years passed by in a blink and soon enough Noel was eight years old, watching her sister leave on a Pokemon journey. She looked so happy surrounded by the adult and her 'friends' that Noel didn't bother wishing her well or seeing her off. Instead she sat in her room and drew pictures. Pictures of her as a Pokemon Trainer - a powerful one whom no one could stand up to - with her big sister beside her saying how great she was. It was a selfish wish but that was what Noel wanted most in the world.[break][break]

The judgements became even more harsh as Himeka's journey continued. Everyone got updates from her big sister saying that she had beating so many Gyms or so many trainers... everyone except her. But every time Noel left the house she would be asked why she wasn't like her sister. Why she didn't have that talent or skill. Why she wasn't strong at all. Soon it became too painful to hear all of those things so she shut herself away in her room and only came out for meals. [break][break]

Noel's situation became worse when her parents began giving her the same ridicule. It seemed like there was no end to the torture since her parent's began asking every mealtime why she didn't have the natural talent to become a Pokemon trainer. Or at her age Himeka was already preparing to start her journey. So Noel even stopped interacting with them. She just shut herself away in her room and made her parents bring food to her.[break][break]

News came that Himeka had become a powerful Fire Type Pokemon Specialist and everyone was happy. Proud that a trainer from Fuschia had done so well for themselves. Noel's parents came up and once again tried to convince her to come downstairs to see the news. She refused and simply kept drawing as well as staring out the window. [break][break]

But unknown to anyone was that she had begun planning her own adventure from the very day that Himeka had left. Every route and every Pokemon she wanted to catch. So one day when she had turned ten, Noel came downstairs dressed and ready to begin much to her parent's surprise. They asked her what she was doing and she explained that she was going to travel to another region to start her journey there because Himeka had already made such an impressions there.[break][break]

So without saying anything more, she left and began to travel. Her first destination was the Alola region and since she didn't have any Pokemon, Noel went to the place known as Iki Town first. The goal of that was to receive her first Pokemon... however on the way she saw an injured Vulpix with a coat she had never seen before. Nevertheless, Noel took tried to take it to a Pokemon Center but failed as it continued to struggle and eventually wriggled out of her grip. The Vulpix ran away and in order to make sure it was safe Noel followed it to a grove with only a Ninetales with the same coat pattern. The Vulpix challenged it to a battle, eventually losing, but Noel saw something that she didn't expect. [break][break]

After the battle concluded and the Ninetales walked away, Noel approached the Vulpix and offered for it to travel with her as her partner because they were the same. They both wanted to overcome someone who everyone else thought was better so they became a pair and traveled the Pokemon World.[break][break]

After traveling the Pokemon World, Noel decided to create a team of Ice type Pokemon to rival Himeka's Fire types. To become completely different from her all together. The Vulpix - now a Ninetales she named Etai - remained her closest partner and friend. But her entire team eventually found themselves on the soil of Lyeant which seemed to be a region in turmoil and in need of an Elite Four. Now that she was Fourteen years old, Noel saw an opportunity for her to really rise about her sister as an Elite Four member so she set it as her goal.[break][break]

Eventually she underwent the test and passed, making her way into the Elite Four. Noel didn't tell her parents and simply continued to train so that she wouldn't fall behind her sister. Ever. She's faithful to the Pokemon Association and would never betray them since they were the ones who gave her this position, the only person she's more loyal to is the Champion purely because of his strength in battle.
