It has been awhile hasn't it. [break][break]I'm not sure exactly what I should say to you or if you're paying attention at all. [break][break]But thank you for taking the time to get to know me. Sometimes, I wonder if other people know me better than I know myself. I've been through so much over the past few years that it's hard to get it all down. So read carefully and if you see me in person, try not to let it slip that you know. [break][break]

I WAS AN IDIOT BACK THEN

I didn't know it was her then. I was just trying to impress her with my skills. The day of my father's assessment, we were attacked by a wild Salamance. I wouldn't let it hurt her and I fought it off with Nana and Coco by my side. It hurt me but that wasn't what stung the worst.[break][break] I made her cry. It was my earliest memory and the one that I hated the most. Seeing someone so afraid of me changed everything and if I knew that I was the one who caused my father to be sent on this wild goose chase, it could've been worse.[break][break]
Dad left. Mom didn't try to talk him out of it. I didn't understand, I thought that he abandoned us. That he abandoned me. I wanted to become stronger, learn things from him, but he turned his back on me. I lost her and him in the same time frame. I couldn't fathom it. It hurt so much that her face became a shadowy image in my mind. One that I would chase in my dreams and reach out to in my waking moments. I wanted to apologize to her.[break][break]
Isn't it funny that when we saw each other again, I was yelling at her instead.[break][break]
She was so much different than back then. Louder, bolder, and completely irritating. We bickered and fought no matter what venue we were in. Challenging each other to an eighty-day challenge. What kind of reunion is that?[break][break]
But I'm glad. Sapphire sparked something inside of me that died six years ago. I was afraid of my own strength. Showing it meant having the possibility to hurt people. The me at that time wasn't able to do it. I ran from everything. [break][break]
My dad being the target of my aversion in most cases. Heck, I even ran away from him when I was trying to help Wally with finding a Pokemon.[break][break]
Oh. I forgot to mention it, though you'd find out eventually. I'm the son of Norman, a Pokemon Gym Leader. He's kind of famous though I don't want to talk about my father right now.[break][break]
Wally is one of my good friends. He was very ill when we first met yet he didn't tell me. Having to drag his unconscious body back to his home was frightening. I left Ruru with him so he could catch a Pokemon himself and I didn't expect her to be gone so long. The darnedest thing happened when an earthquake occurred causing me to fall into the ocean. A guy found me and brought me to Dewford Island. [break][break]
That's when things started to get weirder.

SHE WAS ONLY TRYING TO HELP

I met Sapphire again. We bickered as per usual. Though, I couldn't help but notice that she already received one of her gym badges. Ugh, I was going to fall behind so quickly that it was mind boggling. I went to Granite Cave to find the Water Pokemon of my dreams, Milotic, and was attacked by a horde of Mawile. This guy came to my rescue and I didn't know at the time but he was apart of the Elite Four. His name was Steven Stone. And get this, Sapphire was looking for him as well at some point. [break][break]
Guess we really are connected.[break][break]
Nana and Coco evolved during the fight against the Mawile and Sapphire actually came looking for me just as I left the cave. We traveled to the Abandoned Ship on Route 109, coming across some people who were apart of a group called Team Magma. They were really bad people but had an effective strategy while fighting. We used two Pokemon that we came across called Plusle and Minun. Yet, they left us after the battle.[break][break]
I parted ways with Sapphire at Slateport City and out of nowhere, Mumu evolved. Ah. I'm sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself again. Mumu was a Mudkip that I received from Professor Birch who is Sapphire's father. Are you all caught up? Good.[break][break]
Anyway, it caught the eye of this Chairman from a Pokemon Fanclub. He took me to a Contest Hall where I was denied access because I didn't have a Hoenn Pass. Another reason why we should've stayed in Johto. Anyhow, we ended up getting kidnapped by Team Magma who were targeting Captain Stern. One thing let to another and I was fighting a guy in a submarine! I ended up drifting away and was labeled as a "captive" of Team Magma. How embarrassing.[break][break]
Anyway, I found a Feebas on Route 118 and met a Swimmer who was a pretty cool guy. [break][break]But then, dad found me.[break]

AND SOMEWHERE ALONG THE LINE, I GOT HURT INSTEAD

I knew that I'd have to fight him one day. It was the only way to gain the independence that I wanted. But I never expected it to hurt as much as it did. My dad knew what to say to press my buttons. He knew my deepest fears and my insecurities. Even the ones that I didn't want to admit or I didn't acknowledge. I found myself almost tumbling to my death but he grabbed hold of me. Despite all of the things that he did, all of the things that I did. Arceus be damned, I didn't even call my mom. [break][break]
Dad saved me. And even in my unconscious state, he showed me that he was always the bigger man. [break][break]
He gave me permission to participate in Contests and I never felt so relieved.[break][break]
After that, I went on to win all the Normal Rank Contests in Verdanturf Town. I even met Wally's cousin, Wanda.[break][break]
There was a disturbance caused after that by Team Magma again. Honestly, why were those guys so irritating. I fought them off again and headed on to the next town.[break][break]
I won the Tough, Cool, Cute, and Smart categories for the Super Rank. Heh. No big deal.[break][break]
But I was too late to enter the Beauty category and I met him. Wallace. He was the epitome of Beauty and I wanted him to teach me. Yet, he refused. Well. Until he witnessed my battling skills and then I was on board. It was the greatest thing ever. I went with him to meet the other gym leaders and I saw Sapphire again.[break][break]
We battled against a group of Grumpig.[break][break]
My real power showed but I didn't want anything to do with it.[break][break]
I made Sapphire hate me. I scared away Mimi by calling her ugly.[break][break]
But it was me. I was the one who ugly for turning away the only friends that I had and selfishly turning my back on the situation at hand.[break][break]

BUT THINGS ARE GETTING BETTER

I came back. I helped Sapphire the best way that I could but only managed to get her involved in it as well. We trained on Mirage Island after subduing Maxie and Archie who tried to control the legendaries Groudon and Kyogre. But the power of the orbs which they used were transferred to Sapphire and I. We bonded over our time on Mirage Island. Sapphire even told me --.

Weird, I can't really remember that part.[break][break]
It's like a huge blur in my head. [break][break]
I know that Groudon and Kyogre were defeated. My dad is alright and I went home after my mom called for me. Sapphire wanted to tell me something but she didn't. I wonder what she wanted to say and what happened at that time.

Time went on and we (Sapphire and I) met this kid named Emerald who really wasn't friendly at first. Latios and Latias made up for his awful social skills though which made it easier to save the world. We managed to find Jirachi and use our wish to free the older Pokedex holders.[break][break]They were petrified for awhile, can you believe that?! But we managed to free them and together, we made sure to stop what was to come.[break][break]
Anyway, we were called in to fight at a later date. A meteorite was going to destroy the world, talk about never getting a break. We even met Rayquaza who helped us destroy the meteorite. We mastered Mega Evolution before that and got to wear some really cool outfits. Sapphire was amazing then. But, I feel as though she wanted me to say something. Maybe it had to do with that blur. I don't know.[break][break]
I thought it was better just not to ask.

HOPEFULLY BEFORE THEY GET WORSE

It's been five years since then. I haven't seen Sapphire in awhile though we talked from time to time when the moment would come. I've been chasing something that I can't say. But now I'm back and in a new region called Lyeant. I've joined the Republic for my own reasons and maybe I'll meet Sapphire and the others again. Only time will tell.
