Destiny always knew she was bound for greatness. She had a good head on her shoulders and the imagination to go places with it. Like her mother in nature - desperate to break free of her binds - she was always going to do exactly what she chose to do. She was the most beautiful woman, my mother. I remember her eyes more vividly than I remember my own reflection. They were passionate and strong and fantastic and every moment I spent with her I'd look into her eyes and see the honesty in them. She could never be held down, and I think sometimes that must have broken my father's heart, knowing that she would have to find her space before she returned again, but she was so filled with life and beauty that I don't think he could have truly found sadness in it. And she always came back to us. Arceus, she always came back to him. She first left when she fell pregnant with me, not certain of how she'd raise a child. She carried me on her way and then she returned to him near the end of her pregnancy and everyone says he was happiest when she was in his house, holding her baby and staring at him with those loving, intense eyes.

When she gave birth to me, she stayed. For longer than I think she ever stayed anywhere else, and she loved him. Sometimes I think he questions it, but I look at the photos and I remember the way they kissed before I knew what passion was. And that told me that they were in love, both of them. They wanted nothing more than to be themselves and despite their differences, there was true emotion behind it.

With her gone, everything felt wrong. Father and I weren't the same and I could see him lose the life behind his eyes. It was all business, all calculation and focus. And so I decided to do something with the gifts I was given. He never denied me anything but he stopped seeing me when she was gone and I needed to prove to him that I was still there, I was still going to give him a purpose. I studied, Arceus, did I study. I knew I could do whatever I needed to and my only limit was my imagination.

I found my place in Silph Co. I used my father's name to gain entrance to the company and they were surprised I would work for them rather than for Animatrix. But I needed to prove to him I wasn't a shell and that he could still have something to live for and to be proud of. I also found myself good at what I did. I was a force to be reckoned with in sales, I knew how to work a campaign and to listen to those around me. I knew how to be honest when I could see something wasn't going to work. I was noticed.

I was elected to the Vice-President of Sales young, but the CEO himself was young so it made sense. We needed fresh eyes in the company, we needed a vision. We needed to make it great for Parallax and the company needed to flourish. I still need my father to see how far his daughter has come. I still want him to gain the light back in his eyes, the light that's been gone since she has.
