You’ve always been the sort of person to revel in the spotlight. Been the kind of girl who could look in a mirror and see your own talents. Body image has never worried you, nor has fears of not being good enough. Often you forget that other people don’t have the same breezy nature you do, you forget that you should sometimes hold your tongue about less savoury topics because talking comes so naturally to you.
[break][break]
Perhaps that’s why you’re so good at talking yourself out of any situation. You can twist words around any kind of story and you can make them pretty while doing it. You can tug on heartstrings with your playful tones and you can leave them snapped with your fast-and-loose decision-making. You don’t get tied down, you’re unpredictable as a summer wind. Your family always knew you were going to make a name for yourself. From the day you could walk you were producing runways for the family pet pokemon, and when you could talk it was singing and acting and public speaking. You had your felines trained to walk in a row, tails held high as you walked in front of them. By the time you were six, your parents knew that Lumiose wasn’t going to be enough and despite enjoying the city as home, you wanted more. You watched the contests in Hoenn and Sinnoh and knew you desperately wanted to go, knew that your talents would not be wasted there.
[break][break]
You were lucky, you know you were lucky, because it didn’t take much to convince your parents to let you stay with your aunt and uncle in Sinnoh and you trained so hard with your team of cats, your loyal models, and you took on a gym or two but it didn’t speak to you. You weren’t a battler. At least, not in the traditional sense.
[break][break]
So you, at ten, started going back to the contests that had drawn your attention. You showed off your skills until someone decided to take you under their wing and gave you a pass for entry, helped you learn the basics of how to win, how to appeal to a wide audience.
[break][break]
And you started to win.
Sixteen came along and you were a shining star in the contest world, you made yourself known in the Master ranks and your cats were celebrities of their own, being featured in magazines for Pokemon food and other events. Your stage name, Kitty, became the name you signed with when people approached you and nothing could be better.
[break][break]
Home was Kalos and you had to go back. You were pleased by the fact that little girls and boys recognised you on the street from being seen on television and you fell in love with a pretty boy who talked sweet words about the way you looked when you performed. He was charming and dashing and when he took you by the waist and kissed you on the mouth you knew he was the one.
[break][break]
Until he stole away one of your precious cats, planning to ransom her back to you. And then you unleashed all you’d learned, lashing him with claws and angry words.
[break][break]
When he was thrown into prison, you were eighteen. Your views on the world a little more jaded and your fame definitely dwindling as interest in contests began to fade a little, as people became drawn to other competitions that didn’t involve the flashy showmanship.
The war then hit, and means of entertainment were lost to means of mere survival. You couldn’t blame them, not really, but people needed joy and you spoke to the Association about it, you spoke about your passion for contests and how they were a simple form of entertainment.
[break][break]
After two years, the Pokemon Association called and asked you to join them in Lyeant. You knew you had to go because if anything could bring people joy, it was your craft. And since then, you’ve been working with the Association trying to find a way to bring people together to back the source of power you believe is going to do the best by all.
