Long, long ago—perhaps around the time the universe came to be—a single Pokémon created life. One governed time, another space, and the final one antimatter. Together, the four deities created everything that exists today, if the myth is to be believed. Unfortunately, the beginning of everything was not full of peace and harmony. The baby, Giratina, desired and caused discord and destruction. However, its violent actions did not go unpunished. Its "siblings" eventually banished it to a realm that served as an alternate dimension to the world in which they resided.[break][break]
Naturally, Giratina resented them and their creator, who didn't save it from its fate.[break][break]
The governer of antimatter lost count of how many megaanni it spent in its prison. During that time, it learned to create a portal to the other world, which it occasionally used to send forlorn travelers into the Distortion World. Giratina toyed with them, conveying the immense difference in strength between them. Then, when it grew bored, it'd send the being back—provided it hadn't died by that point. Despite its ability to manifest gateways at will, it refused to exit out of belief that it'd be forced back in.[break][break]
Though it entered into the universe a deity, Giratina was not immune to the natural order. Death inevitably came for its life, and it ceased to physically exist. Yet that wasn't the end of its story. Under the control of a mere human, Arceus resurrected it and its "siblings". Quickly realizing how favorable the circumstances were, the governor of antimatter sought revenge on Dialga and Palkia and prepared to strike. But the humans had other plans for them. They were forced out of the ruins in which they were revived and were separated. There, Giratina fought against some ill man, using his illness to its advantage. It was stopped before it could slaughter the human; rather than continue to retaliate, it chose to escape to the Distortion World.[break][break]
Giratina returned to a mundane life—or so it believed. Somehow, two men managed to enter its realm without its doing. Not that it mattered much, as it chose to chase them like its other victims. They were tossed aside once the being was presented with another beneficial opportunity: To drag Dialga and Palkia, who fought atop Spear Pillar, into its world. To its fortune, it succeeded, bringing both governors of time and space—along with some other guy—to the prison it resided in. The two deities were imprisoned, while the human became its new but brief plaything.[break][break]
With Dialga and Palkia out of the way, Giratina returned to the other world, immediately wreaking havoc just as it had so long ago. But the passage of time brought about great change. The governor of antimatter found itself at a disadvantage—and to delicate humans and their Pokémon at that. Realizing its chances of victory had grown slim, it once more retreated to the Distortion World, where it believed it'd hold the advantage.[break][break]
It was gravely mistaken.[break][break]
A great battled ensued in its realm. To Giratina's great misfortune, its "siblings" were freed from their prison. It was those Pokémon, along with the ones that aided them, who brought about its defeat. Once more, it tried to escape its terrible fate, but in its weakened state was subdued by insignificant Pokémon. Unable to fight any longer, it once more returned to the Distortion World and closed the portal.[break][break]
Suffering an immense blow to its confidence, Giratina chose to meditate on the incident, searching for reasons why it lost. During its introspection, it found a recurring thought: Its hubris and recklessness brought about its demise. The deity constantly shoved the thought away, believing that couldn't be the reason. Yet the more it repeated in its mind, the more open it became to accepting the revelation. Eventually, it yielded.[break][break]
The next step was to figure out how to remedy its enfeebling traits. Giratina found the answer much simpler: Enter the other world and possess a human. Using the shadows as camouflage, the governor of antimatter explored the realm until it came across what it thought to be a suitable vessel—a shrine maiden who devoted herself to a shrine dedicated to Arceus. The irony was not lost on it; it was the very reason it chose this woman to support it.[break][break]
Though the intention was to fully take over the body, the deity was met with an unexpected obstacle: The woman's own willpower. Somehow, she was aware that she'd been possessed and fought back. However, Giratina was unrelenting. After a few days of strife, the two clashing personalities amalgamated. The governor of antimatter gained full agency over the vessel as it desired, but at a great cost. Though its plan succeeded, it quickly discovered its mind was essentially the woman's. Memories of its life remained, as did a sliver of its character, but everything else—memories, interests, personality—belonged to the vessel.[break][break]
Knowing full well it couldn't remain at the shrine, Giratina abandoned the woman's home and ventured out into the world. Over time, it learned how to control Pokémon of its own—it was amazed by what technologies the humans managed to create—and act as if it were truly human. Begrudgingly, it had the vessel to partly thank for that.[break][break]
Its journey across the world eventually brought it to Lyeant sometime after the war. Giratina took great interest in the ever-growing conflict, once more yearning for chaos to break out. Despite this desire, the deity chose to align itself with the "neutral" party, choosing to serve as an observer. Yet it hadn't resigned itself to the Association. If it were able to possess a vessel, then so could the "siblings" and "parent" it so resented. Thus, it was prepared to change allegiance in order to prevent allying with them.

there is nothing left to take, but i still try to reach. try to swallow it all down, yet i can't seem to breathe. just a single pill of mine, nothing else would suffice - i take it in, now i'm alive. my phone is set on lock, and i don't really care. there's a tangle and a knot that i cannot repair. i'm a tragedy, i'm ugly, i'm trying to hide. i say "hello", then wave "goodbye". see me fall down - let me die here slowly. nothing goes right, not a trace of honestly. i'm to blame, so i'll remain. black, white; day, night; it's all the same. see it run down - cut away, no worries. say no more. i can surely say that i've had enough. i still refuse to believe.

PLOT IDEA #1
every day would be the same. nothing more, little change. if i cared, it would mean nothing: it's all such a pain. friendly bonds are so unneeded, i don't give a dang. a busy life is what i am. could it be that family was a way of escape? didn't know if it was right, so i threw them away. couldn't take it anymore, i had taken enough, so then i hide my need for love.[break][break]
PLOT IDEA #2
lay me right down, let me sleep, i'm restless. cover my eyes. when i'm up, i'll finally fade away, here, today. give me a reason: then i'll stay. if i could fly, if for only a moment, there wouldn't be such a need for casualty. i'm alone, and that is how it'll be.
