Ability

Despite his non-gijinka origin, Azazel has a unique "Pokemon Empathy" ability that allows him to sense and understand the feelings and emotions of another Pokemon, almost to the point of being able to understand what the Pokemon is trying to say. However, he doesn't actually hear their Pokespeach, and just has an acute awareness regarding their feelings, and as a result a heightened guess as to what they're attempting to say. This is more prevalent with Pokemon he's been around for a long time; i.e. his Party, and will often end up accidentally "talking" to them as a result, even if he looks crazy doing it. As a result, he has a better attachment to them than humans, especially with what his Pokemon have gone through. He has a harder time sensing the Pokemon's feelings if they're in their pokeballs, or in some form of confined space.

Summarized History

Born the twin of Garret, unlike him, he never quite backed away from his home until much later down the line in his life. Azazel spent most of his time being the backbone of his family's finance as they began to plummit, going out to get as many high-paying jobs as he could, whether they necessarily be legal or not- in fact, in the beginning, he had resorted to stealing in order to get stuff for the family. During that time period was when he met his Porygon, the second Pokemon he had come in possession of. His first being his Blitzle, which he often referred to as his "sister".

The Porygon was his mentor.She taught him how to hack into things and breach security; and with Azazel being a fast learner, it wasn't long before he had a laptop all set up to do things for that very purpose. Unfortunately, it lead to more... less than legal activities, which eventually found their way to his mother- in which she became concerned for him. Especially after the Dedenne he had taken from a lady visiting the region, who he swore up and down abused the Pokemon regardless of how believed he was for that.

In fact, a court case ended up having to be filed over that. Which he only managed to win due to the information he'd gathered on the lady, and his ability to talk with Pokemon; creating a network through his Laptop for the Dedenne's electromagnetic frequencies from his whiskers to provide information and allow the Pokemon to speak essentially speak through; as he'd have the program translate Dedenee's signals into words, as any electric Pokemon normally would.

There was a similar case involving his Aegislash, having broken into a weapon's facility that the Pokemon had haunted as a Honedge. He ended up taking just the Pokemon back with him, instead of his intended item of choice. She's exactly what made him interested in swordplay, taking up the practice and using the Pokemon as his sword. He balanced her moveset based on sword swings and movements, and eventually wound up with her evolving through training with him.

His Lycanroc, he picked up as a Rockruff, while he wasn't a theft; he was taken in as a "son" to him. The Rockruff lost his family, having lived with a pack of Houndoom and Houndour for a majority of his life, his family had been beaten and caught by trainers. He was left to die, being smaller than a normal Rockruff and deemed unfit to be caught and trained by the trainers who took his family. It required years of nursing, and still, Azazel has to keep him from snapping at random strangers.

Eventually, with the constant pushing by his parents, he had left their town to stay in Irisia instead. He joined parallax, working as a "game developer" and using his games in order to help support his family back in Anville Town. Yet, he didn't quite give up that other job; becoming a Mercenary and quitting stealing to help other's with security, tracking, information gathering. He didn't really care much for the politics, even with his disgust towards Imum, and so his motivation for joining the organization was solely for the amount of money they had, and their influences over the region.
