TWO YEARS AGO, A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION GOING BY THE NAME TEAM IMUM WRECKED CHAOS ACROSS THE LAND, DAMAGING CITIES AND KILLING THOUSANDS OF CITIZENS. While Imum itself has long since been disbanded, however, the region remains broken: entire towns have been laid to waste and the Association struggles to find homes for those who were lucky enough to survive the attempted genocide. Reconstruction trudges on as usual... but with three factions - the Association, the corporations, and the people - each wishing to take the rebuilding of an entire region down opposite paths, how long will it be before Lyeant's last leg gives out permanently?

we're officially re-opened! come check out our event, the pokeathlon forever to enjoy some fresh restart activities. let leap know if there are any skin bugs, and they'll be sorted out accordingly!
Care to hear about our lord and savior Operation: Mindcrime? In all seriousness: Hello, hello! I'm Pharaoh Leap – or just Leap – local head admin and rock opera enthusiast. On the rare chance you catch me in a time when I'm not bawling about characters entirely written into song, you may see me actually doing work around the site, like skinning, making too many characters, and encouraging others to also make too many characters. I only know how to write angst, and in no fewer than six trillion words an app or post, so if you like dying while reading like I like dying while writing, I'm the girl for you. ;o
Howdy guys! The names Astro and I am your resident Brit & Red muse (you'll honestly see me more on him than any of my other characters). I'm a moderator and my main job is to make sure everything is running smoothly so the Admins can focus on other things, you'll often see me within the apps and shops, etc when I'm not on Red. What can I say about myself? Apart from being a Red fanboy I like music and games and yaoi huehue, I honestly never now what to put into these sort of things but ohwell, I'm more of a "ask me and I'll tell" sorta guy. Anyway, from my personally I hope that you enjoy the site and what we produce here but also if you're new, please look around and if you like what you see please consider joining for rad plots that everyone gives! :D
Hey there~ Nano over here! I uh.. Wait, I'm doing this right, right? Bleh. So I'm a moderator over here - fun, fun - who kind of just.. Keeps an eye on everyone. You know, the whole app thing and what not. Uh.. Lets see.. When I'm not doing school work (because I may or may not be trying to be a good student) I'm probably storming up new ideas like events and etc. Or plots. Plots are always good, too. As you can see, I uh.. Have the horrible habit of making way too many characters. I swear, I was tempted with plots, ships and angst. It's like, the holy trinity. Uh.. What else is there about me? Oh, right! Please excuse my obnoxiousness. I'm just really loud in general so don't be surprised if I start screaming as loudly as I can caps. So yeah. Nice meeting you!
tbe: take two! is inspired by, but not associated with nintendo's pokemon franchise. the current skin was created by pharaoh leap using font icons primarily from ion icons and fonts from google fonts. banner art by vav of pixiv. characters, with the exception of canons from the manga, belong to the members who write them, and all posts and templates on site are credited to their respective authors and artists. we claim nothing that is not ours.

I'm just trying to offer some conversation to make your job a bit more fun~."[break] "All that you are offering me as of now is a distraction from my productivity."[break] "Tsk~... Geez... As much of a downer as ever, I see~..."[break]
A chuckle escaped the lips of a certain, ashen haired man as he sat upon one of several stools furnished along the outer portions of one of a few bar counters within a particular establishment; the sound then prompted a heavy sigh and murmur of exasperation to sound from the lips of the younger looking man who seemed to be serving him at the time. While he may have seemed like he had been annoying one of the store's employees - which was honestly and wholeheartedly a true fact and thing that he was doing on purpose - one would have easily seen the fact that the two of them knew one another, so for the most part, the annoyance was truly fine in the grand scheme of things- even if the bartender conversing with him seemed somewhat annoyed and done with his companion's comments and antics throughout the time that they were together. Every so often, the man with the white hair and crimson eyes would swirl his drink before nudging the other, darker haired man who stood across from him and behind the other side of the counter; giving him a familiar, signature smirk of his as he gently pushed and prodded him for answers and questions alike for sake of moving the conversation that he had unwillingly dragged him into. Every so often, the worker would have breathed the occasional, equally as exasperated sigh as their talks continued on- yet every so often, he seemed to give him a thoughtful glare in silence for a few moments before cracking the tiniest smirk and saying something that made the older man click his tongue and blow a raspberry at him, which - again - was a clear sign that they knew one another from beyond this specific bar.[break][break]
As the idle chit chat progressed on, the one sitting down - a man known specifically by the name of Bai Hu - would have finished his drinks and nudged his seemingly personal bartender for another one; something that the younger one responded to with a subtly snarky and monotoned comment before complying with the request altogether. At a certain point, there had been a small line of glasses lined up towards the portion of countertop further from him; aligned within an oddly neat fashion for sake of clearly relaying the number of glasses that he finished rather easily to the eye. One, two, three--[break][break]
"This is the ninth glass, now, Bai. Perhaps you should stop for the evening."[break] "Pfft... I'll be fine~. You know I can hold the fort when it comes to booze~."[break] "...I am not driving you home if you find yourself drunk off of your wits."[break] "You say that, but you'd never do that~."[break] "I would, I have, and I will most certainly do it once more to prove a point."[break] "Love you, too, Tao~."[break]
With those words, Bai Hu flashed his cousin a swift grin before reaching out and ruffling his hair; something that Tao himself responded to within a rather disgruntled manner by batting his hand away and fixing his hair into its common style once more. Upon seeing such a sight, the Gengar gijinka merely broadened his smirk while setting his glass down, only to pick the next one prepared for him up. Crimson voids peered down upon the auburn drink mixed before him; his wrist gently moving within slow and soft circles to swirl the concoction before he lifted it to his lips and took a reasonable sip from it. All the while, he turned faintly within his seat; giving his kin a brief relief of his purposeful annoyance in order to give the room around him a quick look over.

[attr="class","maind"][attr="class","umad"]As per the usual, the stormclouds that hung over the lass known as Ishini Mazuka refused to go away, and as she wandered down the street she couldn't help but think about how nice alcohol sounded at that moment. The last thing she particularly cared for at that moment was her thoughts- and much less her damn memories. And so it was that she picked the nearest bar she could and walked in, heavy boots marking her arrival into the establishment before she made her way over to the bar proper, sitting at one end and keeping the black beanie she wore atop her head so as to avoid any undue attention. That was the problem with being a Gijinka, depending on what you were the traits you showed would change, and it just so happened that she ended up with the damn lupine ears of her species. She rested her arms on the bartop and leaned forward onto them, emotions swirling within her amber eyes as she stared at the solid surface, mentally drawing patterns within the material before sitting up as the bartender walked over to her, apparently taking advantage of a brief respite from conversing with another customer. She couldn't be bothered to look over at the customer, nor take much notice of him in general. Faces had a tendency to blur together after a time. There was also the matter of where she was, though she really couldn't care less who owned this city. It was all going downhill anyway at this point.
She made her order and laid her head back down on the bartop, tail curled closely to her form so as to hide it from easy view. She'd made enough enemies showing her ears off alone, she didn't care to think what sort of spite her tail would bring forth. As she waited, she tapped out a beat to herself, vaguely remembering a time when she'd been invited to join the band Corvou had tried forming in their younger years. She'd picked up the drums for it, and as a result couldn't quite keep herself from occasionally tapping out some sort of beat when she was bored. Granted, all it really served to do was drive her guilt up through the roof and back down again, but she'd dealt with it enough as it was that she couldn't bring herself to care for her mental state anymore, much less physical, which was evidenced by the speed at which she downed her first round of drinks. It became painfully apparent rather quickly that Ishi was there to stop thinking, which meant she'd pay as much as she fucking had to in order to accomplish that goal. What's the worst that would happen?

[attr="class","mouths1"]For several moments within the beginning, the ghost type's eyes continuously roamed throughout the room; looming upon the various faces within the bar as they came, went, and lingered on from anywhere between their first minute or so within the establishment to what could have easily been their second or third hour within the area as they each drank and conversed among the friends that they had gathered with that day. In order to attain a better glimpse of the room in general, the man had spun faintly and carefully upon his stool; resting the bottom portions of his shoulder blades against the edge of the counter top once it was behind him, and leaning the bend of his elbow upon it, as well, within a more or less comfortable manner. As the western extremity remained relaxed as it draped over the edge, the remaining kept a steady and constant hold upon the drink that he ordered- and as one would have expected, he occasionally lifted it up to his lips and took a swift swig before returning to his idle search and observations throughout the bar that evening.[break][break]
By the time that he had downed approximately half the glass - which, in itself, truthfully took little time as it was - he peered behind him and over his shoulder and towards his cousin upon feeling him move across his side of the counter and towards a newcomer. His gaze shifted between the two of them for a short while; admittedly lingering upon the woman afar from the corner of his eye as he eyed her quietly. Huh... Feel like I've seen her somewhere before... he wondered to himself idly; shrugging faintly as he turned his head to briefly and momentarily gaze upon the other faces nearby once more. Yet again, he shifted his attention towards his glass before breathing a low sigh, as well as a foreign tongued murmur, before lifting up and downing the rest of his drink within the span of a few seconds. Eh... Probably just seen her around town or something...[break][break]
Here, you had him thinking about such simplistic solutions such as that.[break] On the other hand, his cousin took one look at the newcomer and seemed to stare at her for a brief moment before recognizing her.[break] Nevertheless, he simply nodded and got to work on preparing the drink she had requested.[break][break]
Within that same, general span of time, Bai Hu shifted within his seat and turned around for sake of setting his glass down before turning his head in order to peer over at his cousin; almost on the verge of requesting another drink at his expense, though finding himself cut off abruptly as his attention drifted over to the woman that he had just served. Much like Tao himself, Bai found himself blinking and staring at her as she downed the entirety of her drink within several seconds flat; something that caught him off guard, but at the same time, also amused and impressed him to some degree.[break][break]
He exchanged glances with Tao before smirking in a continuous degree of impression; nodding over towards the other's way and tilting his head with a chuckle. "Goddamn~... Did you go to frat parties in college or something~?" he chuckled, raising a brow. "I mean... That drink specifically ain't anything special, but you wrecked it without a flying shit to give, there~."

[attr="class","maind"][attr="class","umad"]She cursed under her breath at the almost irritating sound of a male voice hitting on her. How many skulls did she have to crack before people fucking took the hint? She growled, mostly to herself, before answering, aiming a sidelong gaze as a dull jade flashed in her eyes with the words she spoke. "Too many late nights with-" she paused, catching herself before she could continue. With my ex. The words rang dull and painful in her skull, and she sighed before finishing her statement. "With an old friend," she finished, opting to use the neutral term so as to not give away what was really going on inside her head. She didn't get a good view of the male, nor did she care to.
She was more concerned with getting plastered, picking a fight, and hoping to god someone knocked her sorry ass out before she could go back on her own promises to herself and just fucking end it all. Morbid, dark thought surely, but ones that weren't exactly a surprise for her to find drifting about in her head. She took another drink when it was offered and downed it in much the same way, a soft buzz slowly beginning to pick up, though at this point it was negligible at best. She glanced over at the male and gave him a once-over as she set the cup down, and in that instant she recognized him. A curse rang out in her mind as her expression changed slightly, turning into one of the more 'are you shitting me' variety before she turned and set her head down.
Just my fucking luck. Hello darkness, my old friend. Come to kick the puppies have you? she lamented in her mind, now furiously attempting to hide herself in the dark of the corner as much as possible. She didn't want to deal with this, didn't want to deal with the stress nor the guilt she'd end up drowning in. Hell, she couldn't even rely on herself to not just fucking ask Bai to beat her unconscious as free payback for the shit she did to Corvou.
Truth be told, a part of her actually hoped the Gengar would end up killing her if that happened.

[attr="class","mouths1"]Initially, Bai Hu simply kept quiet while eyeing her all throughout her own responses; a faint aura and expression of both interest and amusement clear upon his expression despite the rather hostile tone and mannerisms that she flashed his way- and all accompanied by what appeared to be a somewhat exasperated glare, nonetheless. Within most occasions, any other person likely would have taken that as a hint to take a moment to think carefully to themselves before gradually backing off and away from the scenario- if not completely extract themselves from it altogether within a singular blink of an eye right off the bat. However… This man in particular wasn’t quite like the others. While he did know the meaning boundaries - and while he did follow them within more dire scenarios - he often liked to push his limits to see how far he could go. After all, he was more than capable of taking care of himself - even if he got himself into a couple of fights and conflicts here and there - so he wasn’t exactly intimidated at the moment.[break][break]
That being said, he began to turn his form; taking a swig from his own drink to polish it off in order to gain a better view of the very same person that he had taken care to address, as well as the same one who - much to his truthful surprise - bothered to bestow a response of her own towards him. His mouth opened once more, and the beginning sounds of a retort were about to escape from his lips.[break][break]
”...Bai Hu. Hold on.”[break][break]
The call was one that he recognized- and in foreign tongues, nonetheless. Mandarin, specifically.[break] He responded in the same language out of instinct, which prompted his cousin to follow suit once more.[break][break]
”Eh…? What is it?””[break] ”Look at her for a moment or so. Closely.”[break] ”...This your way of telling me to actually hit on her, or--”[break] ”...No, Bai Hu. Arceus, get your head out of your damn ass for once. Just look at her.”[break]
With those words, Yi Tao nodded towards the woman once more; watching as his older cousin blew a raspberry at him before heeding his words and requests while peering back towards the auburn haired gijinka that resided a small ways away from him. Although it hadn’t been seen, his tail - as small and stubby as it was - twitched behind his form while he examined her and thought for several moments. He lifted another drink up to his lips after his cousin prepared it for him, beginning to take a sip from it.[break][break]
...And then it hit him.[break] It hit him, and Tao himself saw as such- so for sake of attempting to brace the woman for the conversation to come, he subtly slipped her a couple of beers before tapping the counter; giving her a quick glance and nod before walking off to tend towards a few newer customers.[break][break]
Meanwhile, Bai Hu paused before completing his sip; gradually lowering the glass and setting it down upon the counter itself once more. ”...So that’s why you looked familiar,” he mused within a somewhat more pensive tone, quirking his lip faintly. ”Huh… Shit. It’s been a while since I last saw you.”

[attr="class","maind"][attr="class","umad"]She sighed, "I was wondering how long it would take you," she turned her gaze over sideways to the Gengar, her expression one of exhausted submission. As though she'd already resigned herself to accepting whatever may come. "If you're going to start kicking my ass, go right ahead. I'm not going to stop you. Arceus knows I deserve it." There she was again, belitting herself. She grabbed the drink in front of her, silently thanking the bartender as she took a rather large drink from it before setting it down slowly. She felt like hell, though one probably wouldn't know it unless they knew her well enough to see the signs. Slightly slouched shoulders, downcast gaze. Ears flattened slightly against her skull, and tail pulled tight yet limply by her side.
She had to take her mind off of the situation just a little bit, a little bit of a reprieve before she inevitably got pounded into the dirt. And so it was that she restarted a new hobby, or rather nervous habit, that had developed over the last several months: counting scars. Since she'd left there were scores of new ones: thin scars from where blades had gone full through her abdomen, long jagged ones from serrated daggers, even a few encircling her wrists, leading up her arms and crossing over the few track marks that remained as evidence of the first way she attempted to cope.
She couldn't help but realize how much of a mess she was when she went through this habit, and each time it served only to pull her somehow deeper into the abyss that she'd been stuck in. She took another drink of the bottle, lifting it up to eye level before giving it a single clockwise swirl. "But on the off-chance you're not going to take the free offer to express your disdain: Yes, it has been a while. I trust you've fared far better than I have."
She was going to need more alcohol.

[attr="class","mouths1"]...If he had to be completely honest with himself, he didn’t exactly see any of this coming.[break][break]
Well, he obviously didn’t expect to come across this specific person anytime soon - what with how she basically dropped off the face of the damned earth as far as he and his friends were concerned in any sense - but her mannerisms within the current moment seemed to be what was catching more of his focus, attention, and interest within the last several moments throughout her own responses. Yet again, his own tail twitched faintly and thoughtfully behind his form as he watched the woman throughout her choices of words; crimson voids of his drifted up and eyeing her ears while they pinned firm against her head as a result of emotions that he himself assumed to be more or less clear- and that right there was what was surprising him for the most part. After all, she was the one who left. ...She was the one who hadn’t exactly surfaced towards him, nor everyone else, on her own, free volition.[break][break]
Yet...as he was looking at her, she seemed remorseful.[break] Hell, more than remorseful.[break] Whatever she was feeling, it made her--[break][break]
”...Dude, you look like shit right now~.”[break][break]
Yeah. Yeah, that.[break] It made her look like that.[break][break]
Anyways… While speaking those words, the ghost himself lifted his free hand and gently ran it through his hair; scratching his head before ruffling the ashen locks twining over his fingers all the while. He took another sip of his drink - a quicker, yet longer one at the same time - before lowering it enough to begin swirling it idly. ”And I mean… Yeah. Dunno why you did what you did, and I do think it was more than a dick move to pull off, but… I ain’t gonna go chuckin’ you across the damn bar.” He shrugged while taking pause for another drink; polishing off the remainder of his drink within the second swig alone before nodding towards his cousin and gratefully accepting the new Long Island Iced Tea that he already prepped for him beforehand. Once it was in hand, he swirled it a little bit more before taking a smaller sip from it; sighing from relief and satisfaction from the chill and flavor alike. ”...’Cause I mean… First off, I ain’t just gonna do that in clear public~. I dunno about you, but I actually like this place and would prefer not to be blacklisted for a damn bar fight~.”[break][break]
A faint smirk tugged upon his lips as he took yet another, leisurely sip.[break][break]
”...And second? I ain’t one for just kicking a chick in the cooter or something outta the blue, so… Yeah~. Unless you pull something first, you’re safe. ...For now~.”[break][break]
With those words, the man spun slowly within his own chair in order to face the bar counter itself once more; finally setting his drink back down and upon its surface before leaning back against the chair’s support behind him. He rolled his neck gradually at first before sharply (and rather aggressively) tilting it to either side to release several loud cracks as he popped it. Sighing outwards within a continued sense of relief, he breathed a murmur under his breath while placing his hands in his lap and crossing his legs. For a split second, his smirk turned pensive as he quirked his lip and hummed lowly. ”...As far as romances go…? Eh. I dunno~. Things could be better. I wish they could be better~,” he responded after a little while. ”But not accounting that…? ...Yeah~. Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’ve been reasonably better~.”

[attr="class","dark"]My Ghost Where'd You Go? I Can't Find You In the Body Sleeping Next To Me
[attr="class","maind"][attr="class","umad"]Well, at least Bai Hu was still an expert in stating the obvious. She didn't just look like shit. She felt like it too, both physically and mentally. Her mental state was more of a bandaged mess than her physical body was- and that was saying something considering the amount of first aid wrapped around her midsection. It didn't hurt, as the wound was old enough by this point, but it still wasn't anywhere near fully healed. She reached a hand up to her throat as Bai continued speaking, eyeing him cautiously still as she ran a finger over the thin scar that ran across the front, forming a perfect half circle. A guideline permanently etched into her skin, from before she'd met Corvou, even. The choker she used to always wear served to hide it, but she found herself caring less and less the more time she was on her own.
She couldn't help but get hung up on Bai's words considering what she had done. "Dick move"? That was an understatement. She'd thrown away her only shot at a half-ass normal life. A half-ass decent one, even. Before Corvou, and now even more so after, she was a street rat. An undesirable. Life wasn't that much better than death for her at this point, and as that thought crept into her mind she absently laid her left hand over the crook of her right elbow, the heel of her palm pressing firmly into the track marks that laid there.
She chuckled dryly as Bai finished talking. She supposed it was better to never have then to be so surrounded by it that you felt as though your soul was tearing itself to shreds when you forced yourself away from it. She let out a sigh, resting her head on the counter with a dull thud. The thought instantly came to her, morbid and questioning, as to how much force she would have to apply in order to knock herself out- or better yet kill herself- on this counter. She moved her left hand, flicking herself in the temple on the corresponding side. Stop thinking like that. You made a promise, remember?
That's right... the promise.
She was going to see him at least once before she let herself end it. Let herself see the full gravity of what she'd done, experience his pain and hatred firsthand. If she was lucky Corvou would set aside his usual morality in favor of just killing her for her crimes, but a part of her knew he was probably still too good for that. He'd always had a tendency to try looking for the good in people, and she doubted he'd just kill her himself. Which is why the promise was for her to see him. To apologize for the bullshit she'd pulled, and then to vanish from this world entirely.
"I take it that you being here means he's... here too," her voice cracked when she mentioned Corvou, however indirectly it had been. She'd taken a moment to clear before finishing her sentence as well. You didn't have to be a genius or even know her terribly well to know how heavily that meant it weighed on her. Part of her hoped Bai would ask what she'd been doing, so she could regale him with the tales of just how much she'd been tearing herself apart over the whole ordeal.
How she'd spent three months high on opiates just to deal with her own guilt and bullshit. How she'd spent every waking moment after that going after fights in the hopes that someone would finally just punch her hard enough that she never woke up.
Bai was a bit of a narcissist though, if memory served correctly, and so she didn't quite expect him to indulge her silent, fucked-up hopes in the slightest.

[attr="class","mouths1"]Was he really a narcissist?[break] ...Eh. Maybe just a tiny bit. A tiny bit in pretty specific scenarios.[break][break]
Truth be told, however, ‘narcissist’ wouldn’t quite be the correct term to match up to him- even if it did seem rather appropriate to do so upon first encountering and conversing with him within most situations. If anything, he gave off that aura on purpose for sake of joking around. He had the confidence in himself, sure. He knew who he was, what his skills were, and other things of the sort. ...Unless he had his own statistics and information lined up, however, he never quite brought himself to judge others excessively within a serious sense, nor did he ever ‘rank’ himself above everyone else and see himself as the perfect being in existence.[break][break]
...In fact, he knew that he made mistakes, and he knew that he was the farthest from perfect.[break] If that wasn’t the case, then he would’ve already had the primary person he wanted by then.[break][break]
With that aside, however… Several moments of silence shrouded the Gengar gijinkas once more while he pondered upon the other’s words and actions; watching as she lowered her head and practically dropped it against the counter within a gentle manner- but even then, he could more or less feel the tiredness and exasperation radiating throughout the movement in itself. His eyes narrowed thoughtfully while he peered at her silently; fingers of the western extremity tapping gently against his leg while those of the eastern lifted themselves up in order to grasp hold of his beverage once more. Once secured around its form, he lifted the glass up to his lips to take another, longer, and refreshing sip from in; peering within its remaining contents for several moments more before humming within extensive thought once more and bringing his shoulders up and down within another shrug.[break][break]
He glanced over towards her yet again. ”...Yeah, actually. He’s been here for a while, now,” he mused within a lower and more pensive tone. His eyes glossed over her form before he himself rested his glass back down and crossed his arms; leaning further back against his seat while tapping his foot against the lower walls of the counter absentmindedly. ”Past year or so; about the same amount of time I’ve been here by now. ...And I’m guessing that you haven’t seen him since you asked that, so… Honestly, I may be stepping outta my boundaries by asking this - and if I am, you don’t gotta answer, and all - but…do you actually plan on seeing him? Or...do you even wanna see him by this point, for that matter?”

[attr="class","maind"][attr="class","umad"]Something seemed to break in her at the words... not snap, not fracture...
Break.
She made a sound that sounded halfway between a sob and a muffled scream, letting her head drop back onto the counter as she fought back against the sudden onset of emotion that had surged at the response. He was here. In Lyeant, if not Irisia itself. The full weight of her past idiocy was once again threatening to crush her under the weight of it, and she took a slow, shaking breath before lifting her head slowly back up. There was a wet film over her eyes, evidence of the emotions she struggled to keep contained within.
"Honestly?" She cursed herself. Even her voice was lacking its piercing confidence, that which she'd relied on for so long to fool others into thinking she was okay. Into thinking that she could manage. She lacked majority of her usual volume. If anything, she sounded broken...
Scared.
There was only one person who had ever heard her like this, and unfortunately for her it was he who was the very subject of the discussion now.
"Hell if I know... Hah, what would I even say to him? 'Hi, sorry I walked out on you like the traitorous bitch everyone told you I was'?" She forced out a laugh, quickly reaching a hand up to cover her mouth as she closed her eyes, tears now pricking slightly at the corners of her eyes as she spoke- her voice only a whisper as she uttered the words.
"He's probably better off without me anyways."

[attr="class","mouths1"]Initially, the man merely allowed the words spoken to him yet again to properly register and sink within his own intellect; eyeing her with a rare, yet still characteristically sound gaze of pensiveness while he quirked his lip and gave a soft, foreign tongued murmur of thought beneath his breath all the while. Lifting his arms upwards and resting them comfortably upon either side of the counter portions that bordered his flanks, he twitched those small Gengar ears atop his head for several moments while also tapping the tips of his fingers absentmindedly and idly upon the surfaces themselves; allowing several more moments to pass while he pondered upon his possible responses and whatnot as they each crossed his mind. Whether intentional or not, the air around him grew faintly heavy as the thoughtfulness lingered about his general person, though in the long run, none of it never quite proved to hold a negative aura even throughout his extensive silence.
If anything, the thoughtful nature only seemed to naturally emphasize itself as time went on.
”...I ain’t gonna lie and confirm that we’ve said that exact thing,” he started off slowly, ”but at the same time, I ain’t gonna lie and say we didn’t have any fired up things to say about the matter.” Silence enveloped the man yet again towards the end of the statement, and for a swift moment, crimson voids of his averted towards the side to focus upon the very glass that he had taken care to set back down some time before choosing to speak up once more. Given that a few more seconds had passed, he would have sighed while lifting a hand and reaching outwards; taking its form within his hold and bringing it up to his lips before tilting both his head and the glass back within a much quicker manner than he had done earlier. Within a much shorter span of time, he washed the remainder of the drink down without more than a second thought; placing it back down upon the counter and giving his cousin a silent, yet easily comprehended glare given what he had just done. After receiving a small nod of acknowledgment as the bartender himself strode by before going on to take the order of another customer that had arrived several moments before they met gazes, Bai Hu inhaled deeply and breathed a sigh before turning his attention back towards the fellow gijinka once more. ”Listen here, though. I also ain’t gonna lie about the fact that he was hurt by what you did. ...Hell, the guy was crushed. Being left like that…? ...Hell, I know, I’d be fucking shattered if I had to live through that…”
Another pause, and he would have turned around within his stool once more; bringing himself to face the counter itself once more while pulling his arms closer inwards and towards his form. Placing his hands atop one another, he placed his feet within a gentle cross - all with their ankles softly touching, and his toes barely balancing upon the horizontal bars towards the bottom of the stool that secured themselves into the main legs for sake of support - while tapping his fingers against his own skin before sparing the other yet another glance. ”...If anything, though… I doubt that it’s like he wants you completely outta his life or anything like that. Sure… It’ll take a shitload of work to gain his trust back in the long run, but...even if the guy holds a lotta grudges, I’ve found that he also finds it hard to let go of the past.” He shrugged rather leisurely despite the gravity of his statements, eyeing her with a sudden air of seriousness; something that, again, was rare, yet still characteristic of his known demeanors. ”That being said, I ain’t gonna completely believe that he’d be better off without you. ...Maybe not willing for the second shot if you wanted it - which it pretty much seems like you do, given how goddamn mopey you are right now - but I’m, like...a good ninety-nine percent sure that he does still want you in his life. ...You just gotta be the one to step up and try to make amends, and all, in that case.”

[attr="class","maind"][attr="class","umad"]She looked over at Bai, a glimmer of light sparking in her eyes at his words. It was something she hadn't had in quite some time, and she herself didn't even recognize the emotion for what it was anymore:
Hope.
She didn't expect forgiveness, didn't want it. Hell it wasn't even a second chance that she wanted. All she honestly needed was to see him one more time, to hear his voice telling her how damn badly she'd messed up, how badly she'd hurt him. She'd already nearly died so many times now, had almost let herself fade away so often. The only thing that kept her alive at this point was knowing that she'd never be able to forgive herself in the slightest if she were to just die without admitting how much of an idiot she was straight to his face. To tear herself down and make clear that she was held together with far too many bandages, stitches, scars and medical tape to ever forget what had happened... and then hope that he could find it within him to keep her pushed away. She had no reason to truly hope that he would ever forgive her, no reason to truly hope that she'd ever have the chance to fulfill the promises she'd made so long ago.
A part of her wanted to, but in the end she knew that it would probably be a hopeless endeavor to even contemplate the idea that she could. She took a slow breath, resisting the urge to draw her knees up to her chest. She was almost devoid of armor in a way, intentionally defenseless so that each blow was felt to the maximum degree to cause her as much pain as possible. Meeting him again wouldn't fix that, she knew, but yet she also knew that meeting him could be the potential key to salvaging what remained of her. Perhaps reignite the fire that had long since left her. She spoke quietly, her voice carrying a false sharpness that blunted the moment it made impact.
"Where do I find him?"

[attr="class","mouths1"]...Ah, fuck me. I don’t like that look in her eyes.
Now, was Bai trying to be honest and thoughtful with his words? Wholeheartedly, yes. Was he trying to get his point across in a more or less clear and comprehensible way? Absolutely, yeah. ...But in retrospect, maybe he should’ve phrased his words a tiny bit differently while speaking them, or at least thinking a little bit deeper as to how they’d be phrased to begin with, and before he started speaking his thoughts to begin with. Don’t get him wrong, of course; he talked with the intention of giving her a sense of hope that she’d still have a chance with being close with his friend.
…As friends. And from the look that he was seeing in her eyes at the time, he couldn’t help but feel as if she was hopeful for something more.
He debated upon correcting himself a small while later; Hell, he mulled over it with a swift yet heavily pensive degree of thought- even if it hadn’t quite seemed as if he was doing so upon the surface. Several times within the span of a minute, he argued with himself over whether or not he should add a statement or two to make his thoughts and intentions of speech fully clear to her, though in the grand scheme of things, he merely inhaled deeply yet softly all the same; closing his eyes as the breath remained held within his lungs for a short while. Given that a few seconds had passed following the gesture, he would’ve lifted a hand of his and pressed it against his face gently; sighing outwards and against his palm with a quiet murmur as he mulled over his own thoughts and incoming responses.
”Where to find him, eh…?” he pondered aloud, humming lowly in thought. His fingers tapped softly against his forehead while he began thinking upon the various areas and the like that the aforementioned man would likely linger around, and after a while, he found himself shrugging lightly. ”...If he ain’t busy at work down at his company building, then he’s probably gonna be training at a gym or some shit like that. And...he’d be at home of course, but-... ...Well, I mean… I get that you wanna see him at all. And no offense intended here, but, like...I doubt that he’d be happy if I just slipped you his address, sooo...yeah. Between those places, the gym would probably be your best bet.”
