Rude, blunt, and unapologetic. Such words are ones that individuals tend to pin onto the being known as Morgan Raezel Aegis, heir to- and current CEO of- the Aegis Corporation. A life of extravagant luxury has brought the girl up in quite the interesting fashion, and almost in defiance of the teaching her parents wished to bestow upon her Morgan has shown to be quite the… discomforting person. Indeed, she has a tendency to make people uncomfortable with quite a few words due to her startling lack of having apparently any shame at all. She’s just as likely to casually throw out a sexual remark as to speak of the weather, though that isn’t to say she’s constantly hitting on people. Open though she may be, her remarks are more due to a lack of filter and knowledge of how such statements come across in a more casual social setting than any actual intent- though she is known to make a few more than usual when she knows it’ll make a person she particularly spites rather comfortable. [break][break]
Sexual comments and her overtly casual mannerisms in every social scenario aside, there are few occasions which she shows a rather starkly different side. Indeed, this is the side of Morgan that caused her to inherit the family company when her father passed. While she’s commonly a rather open and lax individual, she gets as serious as death itself when speaking in a professional manner, such as when negotiating a business deal or when she’s at one of the many pro gaming tournaments she attends. Those who know the lass to a rather close degree tend to refer to this as her “Zero State”, in reference to her gaming moniker as well as the fact that she’s remarkably done with everyone’s shit in this state, and behaves in an absolutely serious, competitive, and no-nonsense manner. That isn’t to say she’s incapable of having fun in this state, rather her teasing and remarks become far more subtle. In a business environment they disappear entirely, but while at gaming circuits and such she can still be seen talking smack and giving her opponents a few sets of reddened ears on occasion.[break][break]
One of the more hidden aspects of her personality awakens only under certain cirumstances, and only due to the one thing she prefers to keep hidden from all those but the ones closest to her. For most to the entirety of her life Morgan has dealt with a condition known as Synesthesia, specifically of the audio-tactile variety. What this means, in short, is that songs and musical tones specifically can cause her to experience physical sensations, and she has a small list of songs that she’d decided are strictly off-limits while she’s in public, for very good reasons. While this led to a brief stint as a DJ during the course of her more rebellious years, it ended up with her learning a variety of instruments over the course of her lifespan- which was already rife with tutors as it was, so the addition of a few musical ones hadn’t created much of a dent within her schedule.[break][break]
For all of her faults and sides there’s an ever darker notion that shrouds Morgan consistently: that of the legendary currently trapped within her. As the current host of the Pitch-Black Pokemon known as Darkrai, she has moments where she seems almost strained, a mental battle almost constantly occurring between herself and the legend. In truth it truly is a winner-takes-all war, as should either one lose they would be wholly consumed by the other. Because of this Morgan takes care to avoid situations where she’d become emotionally or mentally compromised in some way, as she knows full well that Darkrai wouldn’t hesitate to seize control if she showed a large enough opening. This perhaps explains her overtly casual and almost obnoxious nonchalance that she wears at all times. While it isn’t totally impossible to get close to her, it becomes especially more dangerous should the Aegis Queen end up falling in love- something she’s fully aware of and has sought to avoid at nearly all costs. For the risk of a betrayal that could cut that deep is one she isn’t keen on risking, however much Darkrai insists she should “live a little.”

Born to the then young entrepreneur couple of Severus and Brittany Aegis, Morgan Raezel Aegis spent much of her early years within the Aegis Estate near Erayo City alongside her younger sister Melody. A girl with widely varied tastes ranging from firearms to competitive gaming, Morgan showed a strange connection to music from a young age. After a particularly chilling incident at the age of five, Morgan’s parents took her to the hospital, where they found out that the young girl had been born with a unique condition known as synesthesia, more specifically audio-tactile synesthesia, which caused sounds and, most notably, music to induce select physical sensations for the girl. Seeing the condition as more of a musical gift than a hindrance, Morgan found herself constantly exposed to music at a young age.[break][break]
Much like Morgan, her sister Melody had displayed similar signs, though to such a selective degree that a full diagnosis wasn’t quite possible. What was most notable of Melody, however, was her exceptionally keen eyesight. With both girls praised by their parents for their unique qualities, the pair quickly formed a bond far stronger than even most bonds between siblings. As if to prove the point, many of those who met the pair would have trouble being dissuaded from the ideal that the pair of them were twins. [break][break]
Being from a prestigious and well-off family, the pair of girls were raised and taught by tutors paid for by their parents. Morgan quickly proved to be the more critically-minded of the two girls, with Melody more capable on topics concerning spatial thinking. From here, the two girls only advanced at an accelerated pace through their studies.[break][break]
One could suppose that it came as no surprise that when Morgan reached the age of seven, it was arranged for her to begin taking music lessons. Her parents, seeing her synesthesia as a musical gift, quickly allowed the girl to engross herself into the musical world as early as she was ready, leading to Morgan learning a wide range of instruments over the course of her years. Piano, violin, guitar, drumset, and even delving into the intricacies of digital music creation as well as singing as well. And as studies show, Morgan’s marks on tests only seemed to improve with each instrument she learned. While she performed no recitals or concerts, Morgan’s musical prowess, according to her tutor, rivalled that of most professional musicians by the time she was thirteen, and by all accounts that may have been the personal career Morgan chose to pursue were it not for her swift introduction to the world of competitive online gaming.[break][break]
At this point in her life, one must understand that Morgan was a rather quiet individual, choosing to express herself more dominantly through her music and literature than any sort of spoken interaction. Perhaps then it could be seen as a good thing that she chose to engross herself into gaming, as the rise of her competitive spirit caused her to become decided more vocal as well as confident in tone and stance. The games she played and competed on were ones that she seemed to grasp easily, and she quickly rose through each ranked ladder within a matter of a year or less. Quickly gaining popularity among several online circles by the moniker of “Zero Sigma”, or more simply known as Zero, it was in these early years of gaming that she found a second home among the allies and companions she found within the digital realm.[break][break]
Indeed, Zero Sigma’s popularity spiked during Morgan’s fifteenth year, when she earned herself a spot in a world championship for one of the first-person shooters she had held one of the top ten ranked slots for since a few months prior. The youngest individual to compete at the professional level for the game, and she caused one of the greatest upsets in recent professional history when she pulled a clutch kill to pull ahead of the only other finalist within the last three seconds of the final game. Returning home to a round of applause from her parents- who, while skeptical of the potential lifespan of esports, had gained a newfound respect for the competitive gaming scene after seeing the personal growth it had induced within their eldest daughter. Indeed, in the coming year Morgan would attend five other tournaments, winning four and placing among the top three in the fifth, and the popularity only spiked more so when her familial ties to the Aegis Corporation were revealed.[break][break]
Needless to say, her own father had quite the successful boom for his business after deciding to sell merch revolving around his daughter’s esports career.[break][break]
First and foremost, however, she was the eldest child of the Aegis family, and with that came the responsibility of inheriting the family business. Pro gamer that she may have been- and still is- her first obligation was to her family, and she quickly found that she had to balance work and play in order to successfully appease her father’s mounting expectations… for a time.[break][break]
Morgan remembers very clearly what she was doing on that fateful day of her seventeenth year. The day that Imum struck. She’d been waiting outside of a gaming convention for Melody to return to the car, chatting with her father over a video call. She remembers leaning the seat back just in time to hear the news channel flicker over the call, the breaking news of the incident coming over just barely until she reached forward and flicked the radio on.[break][break]
By the time Melody got back to the car, they were announcing the estimated initial death toll. In the ensuing months, she found herself aiding in a rather interesting fashion: using her critical-thinking skills as she took the role of Overwatch for her sister, who quickly found work as a soldier on the front-lines fighting against Imum during the war. It was during this time that Morgan found that she herself was quite the shot with a sniper rifle, though as that may be the case she earned her second nickname through rather dangerous circumstances.[break][break]
As Imum tore Lyeant apart in a systematic onslaught of everything the two girls had known, Morgan herself found herself near death after Imum forces located her base of operations through the war. Forced to fight her way out, Morgan grabbed the nearest weapon she could: a polearm, more specifically a spear designed for combat less than throwing. Using the hand-eye coordination gained from years of gaming alongside her capability and familiarity with firearms- courtesy of her sister- she held out for an entire hour and a half against Imum before her sister and the squadron Melody led showed up just in time to save Morgan’s life for good. Looking over the bloodied bodies of both friend and foe, and after receiving a rather detailed personal account from an oddly quiet Morgan, it was deduced that the Aegis heir had slain a total of thirty-five individuals on her own with nothing more than a spear and nine pistol rounds. So it was that the soldiers of that squadron dubbed their leader’s sister as “Lancer” as a recognition of her apparent prowess with the weapon.[break][break]
Indeed, it was a name that would fit Morgan well over the rest of the war. Taking the title as her moniker during the war, she took it upon herself to aid her sister in rooting out Imum wherever they could, a task which caused Morgan to gather a great deal more combat experience than she would’ve had otherwise.[break][break]
And that experienced served her well when Imum laid siege to Erayo City. Once a vibrant town full of entertainment, as a battlefield Morgan’s hometown was a drastically different environment. Streets she’d walked as a kid were now littered with rubble and bodies of those who she’d seen every day… then she and Melody came to the estate. The last defensible structure in Erayo City, the Aegis family estate very quickly came under Imum attack, and Melody and Morgan were instantly there to defend their home with every ounce of rage within them. It was here that Melody made known the weapon of her creation: The Aegis MK.1 Infantry-Mounted Artillery Railgun. IMAR. The IMAR quickly proved to be a devastating weapon, cleaving through Imum’s assault with all the power one would expect of such a weapon, but not all could be saved with such ease. Eventually, the Aegis estate began to suffer more damage than had been originally anticipated, and as the girls cleared a path for their parents to escape through, the roof of the estate caved in.[break][break]
Morgan remembers the moment her father died with more clarity than even the start of the war. Crushed beneath the debris, her father’s last words were of confidence and sorrow. He’d taught Morgan all he could, and so he left the estate, as well as the fate of the company, in her hands.[break][break]
To say that Morgan turned her rage into a weapon more deadly than IMAR itself could’ve been considered an understatement after the mass of corpses she left to rot in front of the Aegis estate. Indeed, the girl was nearly entirely covered in blood, her lance a deep crimson down much of its length. The two siblings had fought tooth and nail for their family home, and though a fair few sections of it had been destroyed, there was enough of it that they could repair it after the war, but as of that point they couldn’t stay any longer to protect it further. Much of Melody’s squadron had given their lives in defense of Erayo City, and while a fair number of the populace had been saved it was still nothing compared to the numbers the city had possessed before.[break][break]
And so it was that Morgan and Melody found themselves within Irisia at the war’s end, the former approaching the Aegis Corporation building within the city to solemnly inform the company employees there not only of the change in leadership, but the devastation that the company itself had withstood. The company would survive, she had said, and she promised each of those there that she would all she could to ensure they kept their current lifestyle.
After so much, one would hope that the newly-indicted Aegis CEO would’ve been able to spend the remainder of those years in relative peace, and while it certainly seemed as though that would be the case, it didn’t take long for Morgan to take notice of the encroaching dark that seemed to eclipse her being at times. It took not much longer for the entity to make itself known, announcing itself as the Pitch-Black Pokemon Darkrai before calmly stating that it would be taking control of Morgan’s body from that point forward. In the first round of a battle of wills that has since persisted, Morgan fight back the shade, furiously telling Darkrai that she would not simply be giving any creature her body, legend or not.[break][break]
In the first few months, the internal war was fierce, and threatened several times to leave Morgan swallowed by the abyss that Darkrai threatened to send her to. Her spirit was one that would not take defeat so easily, if at all, and it saw the war between itself and Darkrai as a competition, something that only proved to bolster Morgan’s resistance against the legendary’s influence. The two now share an uneasy companionship, each one fully aware of the price of weakness, and it was here that Morgan began to develop into the nonchalance that she now wears, her entire personality seeming to reshape ever-so-slightly to better allow her to combat the legend that had taken her for its host.[break][break]
Because weakness would surely result in Darkrai consuming her completely, just as the legend expressing weakness would result in Morgan taking both its power and name for herself.[break][break]
"Why must you fight so vehemently, Morgan? Are all mortals as stubborn as you?"[break]
"There are none like me, and I’ll die before I let you take me so easily."

there is nothing left to take, but i still try to reach. try to swallow it all down, yet i can't seem to breathe. just a single pill of mine, nothing else would suffice - i take it in, now i'm alive. my phone is set on lock, and i don't really care. there's a tangle and a knot that i cannot repair. i'm a tragedy, i'm ugly, i'm trying to hide. i say "hello", then wave "goodbye". see me fall down - let me die here slowly. nothing goes right, not a trace of honestly. i'm to blame, so i'll remain. black, white; day, night; it's all the same. see it run down - cut away, no worries. say no more. i can surely say that i've had enough. i still refuse to believe.

PLOT IDEA #1
every day would be the same. nothing more, little change. if i cared, it would mean nothing: it's all such a pain. friendly bonds are so unneeded, i don't give a dang. a busy life is what i am. could it be that family was a way of escape? didn't know if it was right, so i threw them away. couldn't take it anymore, i had taken enough, so then i hide my need for love.[break][break]
PLOT IDEA #2
lay me right down, let me sleep, i'm restless. cover my eyes. when i'm up, i'll finally fade away, here, today. give me a reason: then i'll stay. if i could fly, if for only a moment, there wouldn't be such a need for casualty. i'm alone, and that is how it'll be.
