The other world was always a sanctuary, the most beautiful place in the whole universe. Shining, changing, they were its light, Solgaleo and Lunala. They were always playing, always together, entering the world of the mortals when needed, and escaping from the poor Necrozma who was robbed of its own light.Lunala was afraid of it. They fought, they ran, and eventually they separated. Lunala escaped through a wormhole to the human world, but as weakened and scared it was, it hid itself in the light of the moon, watching the humans every night, and wishing to the Ancient One that it would not be found.[break][break]
It was sad to see so many lonely children. So many of them prayed to the moon to free them of suffering, to bring a better, a peaceful day. They could only wish at night, because the day would catch them hoping for something they deserved no more. It saddened her so much she cried out in agony, its heart broken.[break][break]
Passion was Leo’s forte, but Luna was overcome by emotions while watching the fleeting lives of the mortals. The sun and the moon would forever exist, but the humans were only a moment in their lives, like tiny light, tiny stars lighting the veil of the night. But rather than helping, Lunala hid away, still in fear.[break][break]
It escaped and hid.[break][break]
It hid not from Necrozma, but from the responsibility it had toward the humans, toward those that wished upon the moon and wished upon a shooting star. It hid from the voices that wanted it to change the world, and closed its ears.[break][break]
One song reached it only. It wasn’t a wish to make the world better, but a promise to change, a wish to have the strength to become better. It was different, it was only a nuance different compared to the voices that would pray to the moon. So Luna decided to open itself again, and listen.[break][break]
His family was living in Lyeant for a long time, and be was born to live there as well. They were a respected family in the Association, not entirely well-known, but one that would rise to help the Association regardless. It was expected of him to be respectful of its cause and help them flourish. And while the family had a gentle and benevolent mask on for outsiders, it was all just a farce.[break][break]
His parents were mad, but that was nothing new. The basement was his home for as long as he could remember. Every mishap, every mischief, every wrong word was punished with imprisonment. The family had to stay proper, keep up with appearances, but he was a free spirit, one that would rather speak his mind even if it was rude and hurtful. But his father had none of it. The first time he called someone out for being rude and was impolite in return, his father threw him into the basement. He was only five. The basement was dark with a single window blinking up to the outside sky. It was the only source of light, and as the night came, he sang to the moon a children’s song he learned from his mother.[break][break]
Every time after a punishment, he would smile, he would be polite, and then he would run to the nearby forest, and would just run, to rip the chains off that would shackle his heart. When he went back home, he would willingly chain his hands and soul again.[break][break]
He was sent to school not only to learn the history of the land and the proper way to blend into society, but to study the training and care of pokemon too. Now that was something he loved to do. No matter the rude words, the pokemon knew when he was joking, and knew when he was in the right to play sarcasm against someone. The pokemon never judged, unlike people. But even that made him unable to actually come to hate others. In the end, he was probably wrong, and his opinion didn’t matter.[break][break]
His first real friend during school was a tiny Growlithe. She was growing with him, and was like a protector and a buddy at the same time. Occasionally, there were humans who were like pokemon too, who didn’t judge him for speaking up, who didn’t mind him being a little bit blunt.[break][break]
As fun as education seemed to be, he was not entirely able to mingle well with his peers. Conflicts and fights were common, and as the teachers called for his parents, he was yet again banished to the basement, his pokemon confiscated. He could hear the scratching of the Growlithe on the door before she was ordered back into her pokeball again. The darkness inside was more and more unnerving, as if ghosts were lurking behind every box, in every corner. He would settle under the small window and bask in the light of the moon and the stars, his only companion in solitude. When he was let out the next day, he ran to the forest again.[break][break]
He escaped and hid.[break][break]
He hid away not from his family, but from the emotions, from the anger and disdain he felt toward the people he was bound to by blood. He didn’t want to feel this way, he didn’t want to hate them, so before he would, he had to run and scream his pain to the sky. The sun was up; he wouldn’t let the moon hear his pain.[break][break]
Life was going, and the school and his pokemon seemed to offer the sanctuary he needed. School was okay even though the occasional assholes would cast a shadow upon the fun that came with caring for pokemon. The few friends he made there were often picked on and bullied, and he took it upon himself to protect them. A fight broke out, not only between the pokemon but between humans and gijinkas too, and by the time the teachers came to stop the fight, they were all injured, nose and mouth and arms bloody. He felt a kind of satisfaction though, because obviously, it seemed that the bullies will never pick on his friends again.[break][break]
His parents were less satisfied though, and the punishment was the usual. But when it was obvious that one of the bullies was the son of a high rank associate, his punishment was extended, and he could only see the outside world through the small window for a week. Was a good deed punished with such severity? Should he have watched his few friends be picked on just to keep up with appearances? Was what he did bad, just because he followed his own justice? His mind was fading in the darkness of the basement, and loneliness made his songs to the moon more and more painful.[break][break]
It was then that the moon answered his song, and Lunala appeared.[break][break]
He reached out and offered his body to the Legend. There was a fear of his life ceasing to exist, but he pushed it all down and offered a human body for Lunala to take. This was not what the Legend expected at all. From his songs, it felt the willpower to be better, the will to change, like the moon, vanning and filling to be better and crawl up from the darkness of a new moon. For it, he was a little star, shining brightly, a light that would want to see a better world.[break][break]
“Come and be with me.” He reached his hand toward the cosmic being, offering something that was taken by the legendaries ever since the dragon of truth discovered the secret.[break][break]
“Oh, little star, do you think you can handle me in your body? You will be erased.” Lunala mused, intrigued by the will and fearing the soul’s disappearance.[break][break]
“I can handle it. And we can change it all. Isn’t that what you want, too? You dislike the way the world is now.”[break][break]
It was seen through so easily. The moon was protection, change and nostalgia. It wanted the world to regain its former glory. And above all, it wanted to protect this little star, and show him that change was okay, that he wouldn’t be locked up again. He could roam free. Protectiveness and curiosity won over. Even though it needed to hide, the reason it pushed itself into the body of the boy was to see the struggle to the very end, and also to await the bigger things to come. Instead of crushing the human soul, the two would coexist. [break][break]
They were known by another name, but they will be Yoruki Kagayaku in the struggles to come.[break][break]
Years passed, and both of them resided in the same body, none of them vanning, but the line separating the two of them was slowly blurring. He could still hear its voice within, and it would occasionally talk with his voice when desired, but they both knew there would be a day when the two would become one.[break][break]
Lyeant fell to the bombing and the war, and his family fell with it. They went back to see the house abandoned and wrecked, no family members in sight but blood and muck and dirt sticking to the walls. They were mourned by both the mortal and the Legend.[break][break]
They could understand why Parallax would want to help the people and bring them safety, but they were against the fact that the organization wanted to do it by the cost of pokemon habitats and lives. They would go against the destruction of nature. At the same time, they were against taking innocent lives and supporting criminal activity. As long as the Republic didn’t kill needlessly, they would support them to bring back the glory of Lyeant, but they would not want to fully join their cause. They feared the Republic would turn out just like Imum, the ones who were responsible for so many deaths. They wanted balance through them instead. They would not give their support to the Association either, because he saw it all as corrupt and lazy, who weren’t on the right path to harmony between pokemon and humans. In the end, they might be an outcast, a vigilante, who would do their own things, until it was time for the Legends to come forth. They decided to stay in New Veherna to watch over the people, and would often be found in the Park on guard duty, especially during the night.[break][break]
After accepting Lunala into his body, his appearance barely changed. His fangs are slightly elongated, and his eyes would turn red when he uses the Legend’s abilities, or when Lunala would actively take over. They have the ability to converse with each other without anyone else hearing it. Furthermore, as a psychic type, they are able to use telepathy to a certain extent, able to talk with those within hearing range, though it might tire them out quickly. They can use psychic and ghostly attacks minimally, and they are pretty good at blending into the shadows. They get more energetic in natural light, especially in moonlight. During a new moon, they are tired and sluggish.[break][break]
Lunala was said to be able to call the moon, and this ability somewhat appears as a mirage even in their human body. When overly emotional, the area around them feels like a solar eclipse is taking place, it somewhat darkens, and the sun’s light feels more like moonlight. It has no notable effect on people, but pokemon or gijinkas who depend on the night and the moonlight might be affected positively.

see me fall down - let me die here slowly. nothing goes right, not a trace of honesty. i'm to blame, so i'll remain. black, white; day, night; it's all the same. see is run down - cut away, no worries. say no more. i can surely say that i've had enough. i can't remember - that very day, that very day changed me. happiness died like a light i carried. i'll sleep tonight and hope to finally leave a world which i don't believe, a life which i don't need, and then i'll finally be free.
PLOT IDEA #1
every day would be the same. nothing more, little change. if i cared, it would mean nothing: it's all such a pain. friendly bonds are so unneeded, i don't give a dang. a busy life is what i am. could it be that family was a way of escape? didn't know if it was right, so i threw them away. couldn't take it anymore, i had taken enough, so then i hide my need for love.[break][break]
PLOT IDEA #2
lay me right down, let me sleep, i'm restless. cover my eyes. when i'm up, i'll finally fade away, here, today. give me a reason: then i'll stay. if i could fly, if for only a moment, there wouldn't be such a need for casualty. i'm alone, and that is how it'll be.
