| It was the first assignment she'd had in about a couple weeks. Noelle honestly felt relieved she hadn't been forgotten, or worse, discarded. Her superiors weren't capricious, but the idea of her becoming useless to them often haunted her dreams and thoughts. These jobs were what she lived for. Without them... Her life had no meaning, or so she decided.
As the crater began to surface from the horizon, she recited her task internally. Find the God Slayer and bring it back. Use force if necessary. She bit her lip as she recalled the second part. If possible, she wished to avoid engaging in battle, especially if her target was as powerful as her superiors claimed it to be. ...No, no, it wasn't an it; the God Slayer appeared female, so wouldn't it make more sense to address her as such? Then again, discussions about her always seemed to pin the slayer as something less than human. Kind of like she was now.
Perhaps, then, she'd understand her intentions as a remotely kindred spirit.
Noelle made sure to keep to the crater's edge once she'd approached it. Though she had some means of escaping if she ended up sliding all the way to its core, she didn't want to risk entering in case her target was on the surface. Chartreuse eyes scanned the earth before her; given the crater's sheer breadth, it was difficult to clearly make out any figures from across. Yet there did appear to be a single silhouette—or from what she could tell, anyway. She took a moment to look around to discern whether there were any other figures to be found. With nothing but the sole profile, she decided to head toward where it was.
She'd made the right decision.
As the details affixed to the silhouette became more vivid, she realized they matched those of her target. This she was certain of, her digitalized memory flawlessly displaying the God Slayer's image she'd "saved". For now, she'd keep some distance, simply observing the woman in order to gather more information about her. How she moved, how she reacted, and so on. This was part of her duty; hastily acting would only end in tragedy for her.
