 BUT NOW I'M INSECURE AND I CARE WHAT PEOPLE THINK The amount of times that he had come to the springs was insurmountable. All throughout his years of studying, this was a place where he could get away for the day and study in peace. Sure there were people around, but with how beautiful the area was, it was easy to get swept up in whatever you were doing. This was why he found himself back in the area. While he may not have been studying this time, it didn't mean that he wasn't keeping himself busy. Already he had found himself studying the Pokémon that had come up to him, even if some of them seemed a little bit hesitant. He was sure it had to do with his genetics. Throughout it all, however, Kaden found himself staying away from the edge of the water or going anywhere near it. There was still that underlaying fear of the water. It wouldn't hurt him, if it did then showers would be a pain to take, but it still made that side of him uneasy. His ears, that were hidden by the beanie on his head, were pinned flat against his head. Occasionally a bit of worry would seep into him when he did venture closer to the water and someone would run right by him. He couldn't help it. Sure Arcanines were known for being large, but Kaden was anything but. Standing at 5'4" put him at a severe height disadvantage compared to others. Put that with the fat that he wasn't very physically strong, and it just made it easier for him to be the one that would take the topple into the lake if it came down to it. He glanced around the area, Poa pausing in her place next to him, to see if he could find anything else to look at. Seeing nothing, he figured it was about time that he could actually relax. His hands dug into the pockets of the pants he wore only to reappear a few moments later. Within seconds the rest of his team was out, minus Haskell since he was already inside Kaden's phone. Watts took the initiative to climb up Kaden's back, only to perch himself on the young mans head. Kegan took off to go lay under the shade of a tree, Poa following right behind the Flareon. This left Watson to sit next to Kaden. A flapping of wings could be heard as Nacht took off into the sky, preferring to spread her wings than lounge about. With all his Pokémon out, Kaden felt himself begin to relax. He leaned back on his hands, eyes staring out at the water, even as his mind drifted off to thinking over the some of the experiments that he was running back in the lab. |

Kaden was raised with two brilliant parents. His mom was your run-of-the-mill scientist and his dad was an engineer. From a very young age, it was easily seen that Kaden took after his mom. Besides the fact that both he and his mom were Growlithe Gijinkas, he was quick to take a liking to her science experiments. He was always fascinated by the things she would do and there were many times where he tagged along to watch her work. So of course, she helped his interest by getting him involved in some of her work. Not before too long, he was working right alongside her with some of the smaller projects. Of course, that changed when he turned 10 and his mom brought home a younger sister. His mom quit her job, choosing to be a stay-at-home mother instead.

And so it was off to school for Kaden. His comprehension was higher than most kids his age and he even had to be booted up a couple of grades because he would get bored in the classes since they didn't challenge his mind. This was what led him to being able to graduate High School at the age of 14. This didn't come easily. He didn't go out like other high schoolers. Instead he’d stay in and spend all his time studying. His grades would never slip below A’s. But it wasn't like he really wanted to be at school anyways. Thanks to the Growlithe ears that he had, instead of his normal ears, kids would pick on him by calling him demeaning names or by flicking and pulling on them. This just made him want to get home even quicker every day. It would be a few years after high school before he'd attempt to "evolve". He knew the process was painful, but it was something that he wanted to do. To him, it was well worth the pain.

He then entered college where he graduated by 18 with a BS in Biological Science and Applied Physics with a Minor in Behavioral Neuroscience. A short while after graduating he was hired by a high-functioning science department, where he worked long into the night nearly every time he went in. It didn't take long for those there to get impressed by his skill and the level of intelligence he had. Soon enough he was moving up in the ranks until he became one of the top scientists in the company. To this day, he doesn't seem to quite comprehend how he moved up so quickly. He knows he's smart, but he doesn't get how that still meant that he got to move up so quickly.

He spends longer hours than most there because he’ll get so swamped up with the work and before long it’s nighttime and he’s still working. His addiction to energy drinks is horrible and doesn’t help by keeping him up later than he should be. But to him it’s perfectly fine. For once he gets home his younger sister, Laurel, is right there asking what he’d done that day, her own Growlithe ears perked and a fluffy tail wagging.
