I'm super hyped to have a Gladion around because I LOVE THE DYNAMIC THAT HAU AND GLADION HAD IN THE GAMES OH MY GOSH!!! I know the manga hasn't gotten too far yet but I think to believe that one day we'll see a similar dynamic with the return of my boy ;-;[break][break]
In terms of their history, I'm not too sure? For the Hau I wrote I took some creative license and basically have him never get any stronger and actually.... lost one of his Pokemon... nowdays he blames himself and is not doing too well because of that ^^|| But he still tries to be regular old Hau??? on the outside??? Maybe Gladion could also help to snap Hau out of it?[break][break]
I mean my Hau is also crushed under the pressure of being the Kahuna's Grandson and that's why he came to Lyeant so :/[break][break]
Maybe they did meet in the past beyond THAT ONE TIME and hit it off? In terms of what I have for Hau it would've been before the whole Training Session at the Volcano so he would've been everyday same ol Hau as opposed to the mess he is now. [break][break]
Super excited to get something going for these two! I know I haven't posted much/elaborated but it'll be interesting to see how they go!

 eing here in Eirenhyre City made him realize how different this region was from Alola where everything was way more familiar. Here people seemed happy to do almost anything while for the trainer things were a little more difficult back home. Expectations were thrust upon him which had caused Hau more grief than he'd ever wanted in his life. He was weak and had been forced to accept it despite fighting so hard to try and become stronger. Everyone always got stronger so it wasn't fair that he didn't and he'd gotten one of his best friends, only friends, hurt because he hadn't known how incompetent he was. Because he hadn't stopped to think for a second. It was all his fault. He was broken out of his thoughts by the sound of music. It didn't take long for people to pop out of nowhere, crowding the area and leaving the Alolan Trainer drowning in a sea of strangers. Climbing through arms and legs and some body parts he wasn't even sure of, he'd pop out in one section where there were no people (thankfully) giving him a chance to catch his breath. Whoever was playing up on that stage... they were good. Their Pokemon looked really strong from where Hau sat and he had to admit, he was jealous. It didn't look like the singer would ever let her Pokemon get hurt. Not like he had. The grip that the boy had on his shorts tightened further to the point where his knuckles were going white. Why did everyone have to have the strength he wanted? Needed. Why was it always impossible for him to get that strong? When the area became quiet, Hau realized he had been crying. Or at least tears were forming and he was sobbing in such an ugly manner that even Pichu might not've been willing to be nearby. How weird was that? No actually it wasn't weird. He just kept digging himself further into the fact that he wasn't strong. Into that trap he'd fallen into thanks to his family. Coming to Lyeant was supposed to give him a chance to get away from all that not remind him. Ugh it was time he tried enjoying himself now. Yeah. Why not go and talk to the singer? It didn't look like they were too busy. At least that had been his thought process before his nose began to tingle, catching a whiff of a nearby delicious smelling shop. Drooling a little the Alolan Trainer's focus changed when he went walking toward the smell. The only Pokeball at his hip trembling, trying to warm him before the singer from before spoke and broke him out of his 'trance'. "Huh? Eh? Really?" Quickly as he'd been broken out of the trance, the Alolan blinked and wiped the drool from the side of his mouth and turned to face the trainer-Pokemon duo. It hadn't been what he'd been expecting, his eyes drawn to the Bastiodon. He'd never seen a Pokemon like that. You never got to see 'em in Alola. "Whoa... never seen that Pokemon before." |

A little boy born in Iki town. That's who you were, far before you were anyone important. But your parents left you at the doorstep of your grandfather. You don't know why and you want to. You really want to but it's not worth it. Your grandfather will tell you. You believe that he will one day. Until then you were going to stay quiet and simply be a child. That was what you thought would be the best thing to do. Good stuff came of it! You got to meet your lifelong partner Pokemon![break][break]
Pichu and Komala were great friends.[break][break]
One day you wanted to ask your grandfather - Kahuna Hala - to battle you. To help you get even stronger and get ready for the Island Trials. It was your dream, especially to one day be able to face the Kahuna in a battle head on with no holds barred. But as you opened the door your heard a loud voice echoing, freezing you in place. Your couldn't move, you could barely stand. Slowly you peeked through the door to see your grandfather. He was the one who was yelling. You didn't know he could be that angry and you froze with a squeak. The look on his face was one you would never forget.[break][break]
He was much kinder after that.[break][break]
born without a chance
You worked hard to become a powerful Pokemon trainer. Someone who wouldn't be terrified like that ever again. For some reason it felt like grandpa Hala was always holding back around you. He was cheerful and boisterous like always but purposefully holding back around you. As though he was handling something breakable. You didn't want to be a fragile piece of glass. That wasn't to sort of image you wanted to give everyone about you and about the Melemele Kahuna. So you took every challenge that came your way and threw yourself into it.[break][break]
As long as you were always having fun there was no problem right?[break][break]
That tournament changed everything. Oh sure you knew you weren't the strongest because you weren't but getting kicked out in the first round wasn't apart of the plan. Not at all. But you really tried to win. You really, really did! There was just too much space between your skill levels. Your opponent - Gladion - was too strong. His Pokemon were stronger than a lot of other people's you remembered seeing. (not the Kahuna's obviously nothing and no one could beat your old man) That made you more determined to get stronger.[break][break]
That was the day you decided to leave Iki Town on your own.[break][break]
born with a need
Place to place, town to town. There was so much to see! So much to do! And so little time to try and get around to it all. Traveling like this reminded you why you loved Alola so much. Both of your Pokemon travel outside their Pokeballs wherever possible to keep you company; that's always the one downside to traveling alone. You're - well - alone. And from experience that's never a good thing for Hau Tilo! But you stop at every masalada shop to eat some with your Pokemon because good food brings people together and you can't get much better than masaladas in Alola![break][break]
But not everything is as happy as you make it to be.[break][break]
No one asks you for your name. All you hear are whispers of 'that's Kahuna Hala's grandson' 'why is he here?' 'he looks too young to be out'. It all hurts your confidence and while you keep smiling, you're hiding something. Anyone should be able to see it. Then in every battle you try to fight, you get teased because you can't win. Pichu and Komala always get hurt and you blame yourself, even if they don't. They never get any stronger and it hurts because you can tell they want to. People walk by with Alolan Raichu and Kanto Raichu with Pichu's gaze following them. Always.[break][break]

born without hope
You don't want to let them down anymore. After all this you decide to try and help them get stronger. Not only them, you yourself too. Every chance you get you climb mountains and take the most difficult pathway to come out stronger on the other side. But people keep talking, they keep calling you his grandson. You're proud to be related to the old man but you want to be you. Not just a kid who's related to this awesome Pokemon trainer that you know you will never surpass. It's frusterating and it hurts.[break][break]
Stuck in a trap is where you'll always be.[break][break]
Eventually you push yourself beyond the breaking point. Deep in the Meadow you're crying. Just crying because you can't stop. There's no way to hold back the tears as your heart crumbles beneath the weight of a million expectations. You sit there and sob for at least an hour (time didn't really feel like it was moving anyway) You jumped when a small warmth tucked itself up again you. Quickly followed by another. Both Pichu and Komala still had faith in you. They didn't care who you were related to. They loved you just the way you were.[break][break]
So you kept on crying.[break][break]
Once you recover you go out training. Pichu doesn't want to so you don't force them to do anything. It was just you and Komala running alongside each other in the far reaches of the Volcano. You feel like running on forever so you speed up, a grin appearing on your face. There was no way to stop it, even though your eyes were still puffy with tears. A laugh leaves your mouth just as you hear a noise from behind you. But you keep running thinking that it's nothing. The top of the volcano greets you with an amazing view so you turn to look at Komala.[break][break]
But your Pokemon isn't there.[break][break]
You run back down, quickly as your feet are capable. No. This was impossible. Nothing could've happened to your Pokemon; you wouldn't accept it. Komala was one of your closest friends so you run faster and faster, Pichu appearing out of it's Pokeball and keeps up with you. That's when you saw it; a chip taken off one of the ledges and the log that belonged to your Komala. Your friend. Gone. You lean over the edge in desperation, holding on to the hope that your Pokemon is hanging on to the edge and waiting for you.[break][break]
There was nothing.[break][break]
Komala was gone[break][break]
born to be left unknown
You run from your home region, being a stowaway on a boat to Lyeant. No matter what it takes you needed to leave because Alola had too many memories of Komala. The Pokemon that disappeared. You were sure that your partner had died after that. Not once did you let Pichu out of it's Pokeball, not once did you let it out of your sight. Battling was no longer an option because you didn't want to hurt Pichu. (all this was because you were too weak) It's your fault and you know it. Why did you have to have this pressure? You hate it.[break][break]
You always will.[break][break]
Tales of the Pokedex Holders - you heard them and you admire those within them. Having enough strength to save an entire region and enough strength to protect your Pokemon. Man if you could have that power you would always be set. Pichu would never get hurt and Komala... would still be here with you. You want to meet them and ask them one day. To have them help you get stronger.[break][break]
Truthfully, you want to be just like them. You want to be strong. You want a Pokedex.[break][break]
