TWO YEARS AGO, A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION GOING BY THE NAME TEAM IMUM WRECKED CHAOS ACROSS THE LAND, DAMAGING CITIES AND KILLING THOUSANDS OF CITIZENS. While Imum itself has long since been disbanded, however, the region remains broken: entire towns have been laid to waste and the Association struggles to find homes for those who were lucky enough to survive the attempted genocide. Reconstruction trudges on as usual... but with three factions - the Association, the corporations, and the people - each wishing to take the rebuilding of an entire region down opposite paths, how long will it be before Lyeant's last leg gives out permanently?

we're officially re-opened! come check out our event, the pokeathlon forever to enjoy some fresh restart activities. let leap know if there are any skin bugs, and they'll be sorted out accordingly!
Care to hear about our lord and savior Operation: Mindcrime? In all seriousness: Hello, hello! I'm Pharaoh Leap – or just Leap – local head admin and rock opera enthusiast. On the rare chance you catch me in a time when I'm not bawling about characters entirely written into song, you may see me actually doing work around the site, like skinning, making too many characters, and encouraging others to also make too many characters. I only know how to write angst, and in no fewer than six trillion words an app or post, so if you like dying while reading like I like dying while writing, I'm the girl for you. ;o
Howdy guys! The names Astro and I am your resident Brit & Red muse (you'll honestly see me more on him than any of my other characters). I'm a moderator and my main job is to make sure everything is running smoothly so the Admins can focus on other things, you'll often see me within the apps and shops, etc when I'm not on Red. What can I say about myself? Apart from being a Red fanboy I like music and games and yaoi huehue, I honestly never now what to put into these sort of things but ohwell, I'm more of a "ask me and I'll tell" sorta guy. Anyway, from my personally I hope that you enjoy the site and what we produce here but also if you're new, please look around and if you like what you see please consider joining for rad plots that everyone gives! :D
Hey there~ Nano over here! I uh.. Wait, I'm doing this right, right? Bleh. So I'm a moderator over here - fun, fun - who kind of just.. Keeps an eye on everyone. You know, the whole app thing and what not. Uh.. Lets see.. When I'm not doing school work (because I may or may not be trying to be a good student) I'm probably storming up new ideas like events and etc. Or plots. Plots are always good, too. As you can see, I uh.. Have the horrible habit of making way too many characters. I swear, I was tempted with plots, ships and angst. It's like, the holy trinity. Uh.. What else is there about me? Oh, right! Please excuse my obnoxiousness. I'm just really loud in general so don't be surprised if I start screaming as loudly as I can caps. So yeah. Nice meeting you!

i don't mind if we start off their relationship from the beginning, if that works better for hau's backstory? i mean, during those days in alola, gladion was pretty fixated on his mission, so he probably wouldn't have had the patience or drive to 'make nice' with hau until recently when he took over the aether foundation. so if it's easier for them to not have met since the tournament, then that's a-okay with me! as a middle ground we could always say they bumped into each other during the manga-days but they were literally just that, some short words, if that, and maybe a battle or two but nothing significant like in-game busting into the aether foundation. xD that way they know each other on a first name basis and even though its not the most positive, we have some foundations to build the friendship. thoughts~?[break][break]
i like the idea of gladion being of some help in snapping hau out of his slump. even though he probably won't be all that great at being comforting, i think his honest kind of tough love way of doing things could be helpful, should hau need a bit of a shove to snap out of it. obviously i can't imagine gladion being the best for this kind of thing but every little helps! obviously hau will be good for him too, can imagine him encouraging gladion to be a little less absorbed in his work and be a source of positivity beyond his chimera-doggus and lillie. c:[break][break]
but yusss, i love the idea of their friendship. on the outside they look like complete opposites. hau is a little sunshine child and gladion is some grumpy punk but i think gladio would hold their friendship dear when they get there, even if he'd rather cut off his tongue than say that out loud.[break][break]
ee i'm excited too, looking forward to them bonding! <3

EIGHTEEN >> HE/HIM >> AETHER PRESIDENT >> HETEROROMANTIC
-hand rainbow- alola fellow alolan! not like gladio would ever do 'the wave' even if his life depended on it but anyway, a familiar face! <3[break][break]
since the SM manga has really only just started and these two have only had one interaction so far, (and not even a positive one at that!) i hope you don't mind if i draw some inspiration from the games a little on how gladion and hau's relationship might turn out? c:[break][break]
so far these two have met each other once in manga canon and in that meeting, poor precious hau was not only wiped out of the tournament by him but gladio kind of threw salt in the wound by yelling/berating him for his attitude towards pokemon battles. not exactly a super positive first impression, eep. anyway since then both of them have been through some tough times and the alola region has been saved from a disaster that we don't know about but i assume involves ultra beasts and all that good stuff. gladion is now the president of the aether foundation and is working hard to restore the original mission of the foundation to help pokemon.[break][break]
personally, i really like the idea of hau being that annoying loudly affectionate friend that, even though he irritates gladion to no end with his bubbly happiness, he's genuinely intrigued by him and considers him (gasp) a friend, even if he does tell him to go away and huffily shoves him a lot when hau gives him a shoulder hug or whatever. he knows gladion doesn't mean ittt~ [break][break]
in the games gladion admits that hau is an interesting guy and that he couldn't be in his shoes when it comes to his grandfather, i like to imagine that still holds up here, in that he admires hau for attempting to be something more than the kahuna's grandson. what he doesn't like, however, is when hau uses the 'pokemon battles are for fun' line or similar, because to him it makes it seem like he's making excuses or running for his failures (or that pokes are just for battle entertainment, at least in the beginning, he won't think that anymore!)[break][break]
hau also is precious enough to probably see that gladion isn't a bad person and that he's just a anti-social dork/grump who just loves his doggus, pokemon and sister very much? :B[break][break]
i've left gladion's history rather blank because of the manga not being finished, so i'm open for suggestions on whether they met after the tournament or not. if not it just means that they probably won't be friends yet. gladion might recognise him and, seeing that he's withdrawn from the battling scene because of komala, would probably be the type to encourage with a bit of tough-love aka criticism so that he doesn't look too sappy. or something like that anyway, he knows that hau cares for his pokes and thinks he should see his 'personal mission' all the way through.[break][break]
anyway, let me know what you think! throw your thoughts at me! whatever their current relationship is these two together are going to be a lot of fun, especially since they're both in the pkmn association. lots of opportunities for sunshine boy and edgy grump to meet! <3

brief history
Son of the former Aether Foundation president and the Aether researcher who disappeared during an experiment, Gladion was born and raised upon the artificial island in the middle of the Alolan Ocean, Aether Paradise. He, along with his younger sister, suffered at the hands of their mother as their father’s accident seemed to warp her mind until she became something dark and unrecognisable. After years under Lusamine’s control and cruelty, Gladion found a mysterious creature while sneaking around the restricted Aether Foundation laboratories at night, managing to form a bond with the pokemon after constant nightly visits for some time. It was the Type: Null that he discovered that gave him the courage to flee the island prison. After learning about the chained pokemon's artificial origins in stolen research documents and about his mother’s plans involving the Ultra Beasts, Gladion staged an escape with the help of one of the Aether Foundation assistants, Wicke. During the escape he broke out the Type: Null that he had bonded with and they fled on a boat in the middle of the night, landing on Akala island and, with the small amount of money that Gladion had managed to take with him, rented out a hotel room on Route 8. It was then that Gladion kick-started his plan into motion, becoming fixed on not only free Type: Null from its restraints but also to save the Alolan region, to save his family, from the threat of the Ultra Beasts that his mother intended to bring to the islands. Even if it meant stepping on some toes to get there. [break][break]
recent history
Since the defeat of his mother, Gladion returned to Aether Paradise to run the organisation in her place, wanting to reinstate the original purpose of the foundation for not only the good of the pokemon population or to continue his parents true mission but also so that he, Lillie and the Silvally could heal from the past traumas of their former lives upon the island by truly making it a safe home. Running the Aether Foundation was not something that Gladion saw himself doing, at least not within the recent years of his life, nor does he really want it to be something he does forever, that taste of freedom tempting him to travel through the regions with his pokemon strong on his tongue, however getting the project back on the right track is something that he feels he needs to do, at least for now. [break][break]
With the limitless support of Wicke and the other trustworthy members of staff, Gladion has set about completely stripping the Aether Foundation down, ridding it of the corrupt underbelly and dirty money that had originally funded the wealthy structure, bringing it back to when his parents first found organisation all those years ago before he was born, as a donation run project. Funds would be raised from events and charitable gestures, their staff made up primarily of volunteers and additional funds would be made by opening the doors to the public, giving guided tours on select dates within the sanctuary to show the general public how their conservation work has aided struggling pokemon species and how their facilities have made a difference to pokemon that had been mistreated or abandoned. Even though their home base was anything but humble, Gladion insisted on turning the family mansion into something of use for the Aether Foundation, turning many of the rooms into rest rooms, clinics, a hatchery and a nursery, he and Lillie coming to an agreement that the place felt too tainted for them to comfortably live in anymore. [break][break]
It had been not quite as smooth sailing as it was back when the foundation was being pumped full of money to conduct illegal practices and research on the Ultra Space, however the Aether Foundation has managed to remain afloat, modest in the pockets but becoming rich with its reputation, turning into something far more positive than before. Even if most of the staff were volunteers or on small wages, a difference was starting to be noticeable within the Alola region. There’s been enough of a difference that, within very recent time, the Pokemon Association itself has extended its hand to the new Aether Foundation, with an exciting and promising deal of an alliance that would see funds being sent to the organisation, as recognition that its presence is beneficial in the pokemon world for sustaining endangered species and providing care for the neglected. In return the foundation would be brought underneath the Pokemon Association banner, its research facilities to open up its scientists but the group would generally be left to their own devices. [break][break]
Even now Gladion is a little uncertain whether accepting was the best decision for him to make as the Aether President. Funds have, as agreed, been coming in a steady flow each month, allowing them to hire more medical staff and care assistants, they’ve even began construction on upgrading some of the environments and response teams for the pokemon, however knowing that they have to be under the Association umbrella, have to conform to their ideals of pokemon care leaves Gladion slightly hesitant. Seeing Silvally and the Nulls at peace however, their existence fee from research as firmly agreed with the Pokemon Association, makes his doubts soften. It's worth it if it truly benefits the pokemon.[break][break]
Then the Lyeant Region happened. At the request of the Pokemon Association, Gladion was asked to travel to the troubled land to aid in the reconstruction efforts as the President of the Aether Foundation, to give his opinions and expertise in protecting the pokemon population that had suffered during the tragedy. Personally, upon hearing all of the tales that surround the situation, Gladion is far more inclined to agree with The Republic of Lyeant and their declarations of pokemon preservation, not put off by their more troubled members considering his own shady past within Team Skull to achieve his former goals. Yet, with maintaining the Aether Foundation’s steadily growing prospects as his sworn duty and responsibility as the president, Gladion agrees to assist the Pokemon Association with their way of doing things, even if his beliefs drift more to the other side.
President of the Aether Foundation, Gladion is the son of the former leader of the organisation and the one responsible for bringing the group back into a positive force for good after its reputation was dragged down by his predecessor, although he states that his position is only temporary. Gladion is also the trainer and friend of Silvally, an artificial pokemon that his mother’s scientists created to defeat Ultra Beasts, being the boy responsible for freeing the creature from its prisons and bestowing his partner with the gift of a name. Together the two of them assisted in the defeat of the previous Aether Foundation and keeping the Alola region safe from destruction, lending their strength to Sun and Moon when calamity fell upon their homes. Previously Gladion was known for his bad temper and blunt manner of speaking, especially when it comes to his stance on pokemon care, as well as his drive to see his mission fulfilled, even if it meant joining the infamous Team Skull as hired muscle to make the most of the opportunities it gave him. In present times Gladion is still a bit of a snarky sour-face, however without the weight of a countdown to destruction on his shoulders, he’s become a little bit more relaxed while in the presence of others and has been able to be a little bit more open, even if it is a little bit of an awkward watch.
[break][break]
>>> FRIENDSHIP
His best friend is an artificially created dog of mass destruction. If that doesn’t bother you then Gladion is willing to interact with you, at the least. Since Alola’s future has been secured as safe and his little sister, Lillie, has also been freed of her own burdens, Gladion has become a slightly more approachable person than he used to be. He’s not perfect, he’s still mostly got a frown on his face and he can be a little impatient or rude, especially when it comes to idiocy or subjects that are sensitive or irritating to him, but he makes a conscious effort to be a little more civil when it comes to interacting with others these days. He and Silvally spent a lot of time in isolation over their mission, even when he needed someone to lean on, and growing up on an artificial island doesn’t present you with a lot of opportunities to interact with children of similar age, so Gladion is a little unsure and awkward when it comes to being genuinely heartfelt or opening up to others. Usually he speaks very slowly and to the point in those moments, when feeling nervous he even sometimes gets fidgety, holding onto his wrist is a habit he still can’t seem to shake. With those that he likes he isn’t afraid to be a little bit playfully snarky and is considerably protective of those that he’s close to. Underneath the prickly exterior and social inexperience, Gladion has a very kind heart, having a soft spot for pokemon and will do what he can to make his close ones happy and safe. Since becoming Aether President he’s also had to learn how to hold his tongue and, although not always perfect, Gladion is becoming better at swallowing irritation and not just exploding into dramatic hand trembling rage.
PLOT IDEA #1 every day would be the same. nothing more, little change. if i cared, it would mean nothing: it's all such a pain. friendly bonds are so unneeded, i don't give a dang. a busy life is what i am. could it be that family was a way of escape? didn't know if it was right, so i threw them away. couldn't take it anymore, i had taken enough, so then i hide my need for love.[break][break]
PLOT IDEA #2 lay me right down, let me sleep, i'm restless. cover my eyes. when i'm up, i'll finally fade away, here, today. give me a reason: then i'll stay. if i could fly, if for only a moment, there wouldn't be such a need for casualty. i'm alone, and that is how it'll be.
>>> HATESHIP
Rubbing people the wrong way and being rubbed the wrong way is not at all uncommon for Gladion. He hasn’t had the best track record of leaving a positive impression, whether that be because he was a temporary enforcer for Team Skull or because he wasn’t afraid to run his mouth or berate someone when they’ve irritated him, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he’s racked up a number of people who are less than impressed by his poor social skills. Annoying him is easy, whether it be by running his patience or making excuses, he’s someone who isn’t afraid to call someone out whether it’s necessary or not. He’s a bit of a spitfire, especially when it concerns pokemon cruelty or those that threaten Lillie, and his worst outbursts tend to be overly dramatic with his expressive hand gestures and sharp words. He’s definitely not as explosive as he was in the past, learning how to keep a collected professional exterior when acting as the Aether President, but it’s still easy to rub Gladion the wrong way, even if he does have to just settle for a glare and carefully picked words in public.

>>> LOVESHIP
Romance is something that Gladion doesn’t really think about nor does he really consider himself to have time for. There’s always been something that’s far more important than getting dates in his life, whether that’s rescuing experiment pokemon, getting stronger to defeat Ultra beasts or making sure that the Aether Foundation can fulfil its purpose to protect pokemon, love isn’t something that Gladion considers worth making time for. He’s never really been physically drawn to another person or rather, never really noticed anyone from a purely visual standpoint, even if he does acknowledge their attraction nobody has ever really got him flustered in that way before. When he does feel hooked, it’s usually accomplished by securing a bond first, a sense of loving companionship far more appealing to him than anything physical. Still, romance isn’t something he finds time to think about and even if he did, he may be hard pressed finding someone who won’t mind that his best friend is a dog.
