i'm in need of a savior

Basic overview of his early life. Born as Li Shen Wu; also known as Sean Wu when taking his English name into account. Family of four; one mother, one father, and one elder brother. Initially, Shen had actually been rather mature from a young age, and most aspects of his life and hobbies had been controlled by his parents, and - to some extent - even his brother. Maturity and professional statures were a must within his household, so he was generally taught that there was no time for fun and games; something that led him to believe that being free spirited was frowned down upon for some span of time.[break][break]

but i'm not asking for favors

His family had been one of wealth and status, obviously, so he and his brother had been brought up with many expectations. For the most part, Shen had actually exceeded the expectations that his parents set out for him; excelling in academics, the side classes that they had signed him up for, and other factors of the sort- but time and time again, he had been overshadowed by the successes of his brother, Lei Kang. At the very least, he hoped that he would gain a fair degree of recognition and praise from his family in general due to his achievements, but for the most part, his parents only ever paid attention to his brother, and even went so far as to shun Shen for not being able to stay on par with him. Around this time, his subtle inferiority complexes had begun to form.[break][break]

my whole life

The shunning had eventually begun to transition into mild to major emotional abuse and insults; something that had initially fueled Shen's motivation to excel to greater heights for sake of possibly attaining praise from his parents. By then, however, most of whatever he did proved to be not enough for their standards. As time went on, the verbal abuse had been paired with very minor physical abuse from his parents, and the bulk of the emotional abuse in itself had begun to come courtesy of his brother in the form of taunting and wearing down his self sense of self worth. His motivation began to diminish over time, but he still tried his best for the most part- but around this time, he began to turn to unhealthier coping mechanisms on the lowkey.[break][break]

i've felt like a burden

Not much detail will be included in this summary, but all that's needed to know is that Shen more or less inched towards the end of his rope by his pre-teens at age eleven (sixth grade). The stress of the abuse, as well as thinking he hadn't been good enough, eventually caught up to him and temporarily enveloped him. He became desperate enough to attempt suicide in order to catch his family's attention. Needless to say, he lived through the ordeal, but around the time that he woke up, his family only condemned him further for his attention stunt. He continued life afterwards, but stopped trying to appease them overall after his recovery.[break][break]

i think too much, and i hate it

A year passed, and Shen accepted the fact that his family wouldn't so much as give him the time of day if it was within their control. At age twelve - and partway through his seventh grade year - he took it upon himself to steal whatever cash he could from his family within the night after stocking up on materials and supplies that he could gather, and soon afterwards, he ran away from home. In the night, he stowed away to whatever region he could, and eventually ended up within Johto. His overall destination had turned out to be Goldenrod City, and after a fair amount of time on the streets (and no missing reports sent out from his family) he had eventually been found and taken to a foster home approximately a year after that at age thirteen. After attempting to track his family down with no avail, he found a place within the very same foster home that he was brought to. At first, however, he remained and distanced and shut in as he had been through the past year that he had spent alone.[break][break]

i'm so used to being in the wrong

There had been other children living at the foster home, as well; one of which being his eventual, foster, and adoptive brother by the name of Cethin Prince. All in all, he hadn't quite become acquainted with Cethin himself until several months into becoming incorporated into both school and the foster home alike; specifically when he began to attempt suicide for a second time within the evening, and when everyone else had fallen asleep. Thankfully enough, Cethin had caught him, and - despite being exceedingly shocked by the notion - had managed to convince Shen not to go through with his attempt overall after an ongoing degree of quiet negotiation and soothing. Shen himself had more or less been shut down with nothing to lose, so he ended up speaking of the reasons in regards to why he had initially wanted to attempt - as well as his reasonings for his lack of self worth, and how he had attempted with his prior family beforehand - to give Cethin some context. Overall, the two of them ended up talking, and after that entire ordeal, Cethin took it upon himself to keep a close eye on Shen, and to help and support him.[break][break]

i'm tired of caring

After becoming realigned with his academics, as well as his education path, Shen ended up continuing schooling alongside Cethin through the remainder of his middle school years. By the beginning of his high school, Shen himself had still been the initially distant and shut in child that he had been accustomed to being within the past; however, he had a great amount of free time in between excelling within his academics. Due to this, Cethin began goading and attempting to convince him to join several extracurriculars, clubs, or sports teams, if possible. He gave in by the end of matters, and ended up becoming a member of the wrestling team throughout all four years of his high school career. Alongside that, he ended up taking theatre on a whim within his freshman year, and ended up becoming involved within it through the rest of high school, as well. The same had applied to art after he made several more friends with the shared interest, and that in itself caused his love for both subjects to subtly grow stronger and stronger as time went on.[break][break]

loving never gave me a home

Subtle time skips begin to be implemented here. Around his junior year of high school, he had been introduced to a couple of girls through Cethin, and ended up befriending the two of them himself; eventually becoming closer to the more rambunctious of the two, Venus. The two of them often engaged within excessive bantering, though despite that, he considered the two of them as friends nevertheless. After graduating from high school, Shen began to dabble within hi interests as far as majors went; initially pursuing a double major within performing arts and art alike, though after the first year within college, he ended up dropping art and replacing it with psychology, and it was through that major that he had met one of his best friends - as well as his main break dancing partner to this day - Aoryuu Kagekawa. After enough time, he ended up attaining his masters in both performing arts and psychology alike; only stopping there due to the fact that he had managed to attain his first acting offers around that general time.[break][break]

so i'll sit here in the silence

After pondering his options, he moved around the cities and regions alike for a few years afterwards to properly begin his acting journey; still keeping in contact with his friends, and even doing his best to still meet up with them in between breaks and whatnot. Eventually, his career ended up bringing him over to Lyeant, which is where he still lives to this day.[break][break]
