Imagine, if you will, the stereotypical princess: mild-mannered, passive, distantly kind, polite, a regular every day damsel in distress whose only use is presenting herself as a beauty object and being rescued by a knightly man most certainly fit to become king. Now, then – invert that all on its head. Lilika is royalty perhaps only in blood, her clothing more often than not left in tatters, her hands covered in dirt, and the words spilling out of her mouth too “vile” to be anything of traditional royalty. Had she been born to a royal family stationed in any other principality than Tohoku, her behavior would have been far from acceptable, but given her home environment and the small region in which she was raised, it should be of little surprise that her upbringing was for more loose. Her mother cared more about self expression and inner happiness than upholding standards set too high for a young girl, and such parenting methods have helped to shape the person that Lilika is.[break][break]
From her youth, Lily found more entertainment in playing in dirt and faking martial art skills than playing dress up or toying with tea sets. Calling her a tomboy may be an overstatement now that she's a young woman – it's not entirely unheard of for her to indulge in a day of shopping every so often, even if she'd rather browse for weapons than clothes, and her attire is usually not something you could see a man wearing – but on a scale of masculinity to femininity, she doesn't sit very close to the latter. She isn't afraid to be loud, to be abrasive. Her fists bite more than her bark ever calls out when it comes to the rare disagreement, even if she isn't the biggest fan of resorting to violence. Still, she takes stubbornness to a level beyond that of most people, stuck to her views and her ways until the very end of her days without letting anyone else get a say so in edgewise. Perhaps its for the better than her aspirations are usually within her reach, with a hefty bit of elbow grease, of course, and that her heart remains in the right place once she's made up her mind. Between this and her unwavering optimism in virtually any trial that comes her way, it's no wonder the subjects of her principality found themselves taking at least some liking to her.[break][break]
Perhaps Lilika's most defining trait, however, is her flair for heroics. She isn't so flashy a savior as to run about in a hero's costume saving people from “villains”, but if someone looking to be in any sort of trouble falls into her line of sight, she'll go out of her way to aid them, even if they refuse. Especially if they refuse. Many have complained that she does a little too much – aiding an old lady across the street, only to proceed to walk them home and clear an unnecessarily large path for them the whole way. A Litten caught in a tree? She'll call for the owner for hours and hours until someone shows up or she ends up taking it to the police, and then proceeds to wait there until the owner shows up. People she takes to the hospital are guaranteed at least one visitor sticking around for too long, and it isn't unheard of for her to randomly buy multiple people's dinners at a restaurant of any price value. Lyeant is in shambles, she knows: a titan of a region reduced to less than her own humble home. What cruel, self-centered person wouldn't do all in their power to aid its people however they can?

Home is small – home is poor. She's royalty from the day she's born, the second youngest of six, four older sisters, one younger brother, but she never really feels like royalty. The whole of the Principality of Tohoku is her playground, and all of the children in town siblings on top of those she already has. In their eyes, she's never “the princess”, and from their mouths topples only “Lily”. Its quaint like that from the beginning. No one has much to offer here, but everyone shares what they can, and their days are all the happier spent for it.[break][break]
But money means survival in the great, greedy world, when there's only so much to go around, everyone suffers for it. Without it. (Because of it.)[break][break]
“Lily, darling – do you love Tohoku?”[break][break]
Of course she does. It's her home. It's her world.[break][break]
“There's something that needs to be done, if we're to keep going the way we have been. Something only you can do.”[break][break]
And she'd do anything, anything at all for her principality. She'd give anything away.[break][break]
(Just not her hand in marriage.)[break][break]
Lilika arrives to a war. It must be so that her engagement was made prior to the bombing in Neurift – a cake cut into, a bomb that took half the hall away in a single blast, and the Imum grunts that came pooring out after – but the fighting is well underway by the time her feet meet the ground, and its all fortune that keeps she and her team of fairies alive long enough to see the end. Her husband-to-be is kind enough to postpone their event until after the threat of death has faded from the minds of those who would attend (rich, poor: all lives are equal in the eyes of a murderer), and even kinder still to allow her a vacation home immediately after their vows with which to recover from the scars she must have been left with.[break][break]
But she isn't battle-torn and scared. No, no – something has ignited in her soul as a result of aiding in the reclaiming of Lyeant, a region not her own, and she would be doomed before some stranger carves her into his trophy wife. Their wedding is scheduled on the date of gym leader preliminaries, open to all, pass the test and win the chance of a lifetime.[break][break]
A man she's never met is stood up at the altar. In the same moment that the guests realize she isn't coming, the Association hands her her very first gym badge.

Envision the typical princess as depicted by fiction: fair, gentle, strong in will while soft in touch, a regular damsel in distress. Were a person to try to label Lilika Peverell as such, she'd likely burst into laughter – after, of course, accepting those nice little “fair” and “strong-willed” compliments. A royal bloodline originating from the small monarchical island of Tohoku designates Lilika as princess, albeit one who will likely never ascend to the thrown, but the circumstances of her country and her upbringing have molded her into a character far different from the role many would expect her to play. There's a reason her old-fashioned get up makes her look more the part of a knight than of a maiden letting her hair down for her prince-to-be – for as long as she can remember, she's been the sort to not go down without a fight. Lilika's reasons away from being away from home and in the region of Lyeant are pretty simple: She was intended to hand her... well, hand over in marriage, but after witnessing the assault of Imum first hand, dedicated herself, instead, to the reconstruction efforts rather than playing trophy wife for a man with nothing to honor him but the money lining his pockets.
[break][break]
Lilika is an easy person to befriend, if only because she is used to everyone being her friend with very little pretense. Back home, where her status as princess was known by all, people treated her with respect and kindness first out of necessity, then out of genuine intentions, after she inevitably wormed her way into their hearts. Unfortunately, since she doesn't parade around with a crown on her head, most don't jump to their knees before her or attempt to stay on her good side with friendly behavior – but that hasn't stopped her from treating those around her very friendly (perhaps too friendly) from the get-go. Rather than people earning her friendship, she likes to see it as people losing their right to it; her generosity is given from the start, and unless you give her a reason to not be, you've been friends since the moment you shook hands.[break][break]
Much like the knights she tends to dress herself up as, the gym leader has a very strict sense of duty and laws to abide by. Making enemies, then, is simple: denounce these basic principals and ideas of “chivalry” (although, she wouldn't go quite so far as to truly label it as “chivalry”), and you're no one worth her time. Those who would put their own needs above the many are the root of suffering. Those who would abandon another in need does not deserve saving themselves. An enemy to decency and the masses is a personal enemy of her own; it's how it's always been, and it's likely how it will always be.[break][break]
Slapping a ring on this technically makes you royalty. Consider the pluses. <:I[break][break]
Okay, no, but seriously. By all means, Lilika is still engaged to a high ranking member of Parallax, seeing as she never so much broke off the arrangement as she... left him hanging at the altar. Oops. Love and its pursuit have always been rather low on her list, considering the number of siblings older than her have almost guaranteed that she will never have need to ascend the throne, and without the hassle of “having to produce an heir”, there's really been nothing to motivate her to look for “that special someone”. She cares more about the happiness of “the many” than herself as an individual. Landing here, honestly, will probably just be a chore. She's bisexual, although she leans a touch more heavily toward girls in terms of her preference; if you have any intent of landing here, I guess, that'd be the place to start.[break][break]
I had ideas for stuff I wanted for her – and then I tooooootally forgot. Honestly, like, Quoz plays Lilika's brother, Janni, but we're always down for more royal siblings from the tiny nation of Tohoku! All four of them are older, but. Otherwise, people for her to sword fight? People for her to look up to? (That second one's not hard, you just have to be semi-competent and she'll ask you for lessons on whatever it is you're semi-competent at.) Vigilantes and people who advertise their heroics rub her the wrong way, each for different reasons, so if you have one of either, you can always hit her up with those, too!
