TWO YEARS AGO, A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION GOING BY THE NAME TEAM IMUM WRECKED CHAOS ACROSS THE LAND, DAMAGING CITIES AND KILLING THOUSANDS OF CITIZENS. While Imum itself has long since been disbanded, however, the region remains broken: entire towns have been laid to waste and the Association struggles to find homes for those who were lucky enough to survive the attempted genocide. Reconstruction trudges on as usual... but with three factions - the Association, the corporations, and the people - each wishing to take the rebuilding of an entire region down opposite paths, how long will it be before Lyeant's last leg gives out permanently?

Care to hear about our lord and savior Operation: Mindcrime? In all seriousness: Hello, hello! I'm Pharaoh Leap – or just Leap – local head admin and rock opera enthusiast. On the rare chance you catch me in a time when I'm not bawling about characters entirely written into song, you may see me actually doing work around the site, like skinning, making too many characters, and encouraging others to also make too many characters. I only know how to write angst, and in no fewer than six trillion words an app or post, so if you like dying while reading like I like dying while writing, I'm the girl for you. ;o
Howdy guys! The names Astro and I am your resident Brit & Red muse (you'll honestly see me more on him than any of my other characters). I'm a moderator and my main job is to make sure everything is running smoothly so the Admins can focus on other things, you'll often see me within the apps and shops, etc when I'm not on Red. What can I say about myself? Apart from being a Red fanboy I like music and games and yaoi huehue, I honestly never now what to put into these sort of things but ohwell, I'm more of a "ask me and I'll tell" sorta guy. Anyway, from my personally I hope that you enjoy the site and what we produce here but also if you're new, please look around and if you like what you see please consider joining for rad plots that everyone gives! :D
Hey there~ Nano over here! I uh.. Wait, I'm doing this right, right? Bleh. So I'm a moderator over here - fun, fun - who kind of just.. Keeps an eye on everyone. You know, the whole app thing and what not. Uh.. Lets see.. When I'm not doing school work (because I may or may not be trying to be a good student) I'm probably storming up new ideas like events and etc. Or plots. Plots are always good, too. As you can see, I uh.. Have the horrible habit of making way too many characters. I swear, I was tempted with plots, ships and angst. It's like, the holy trinity. Uh.. What else is there about me? Oh, right! Please excuse my obnoxiousness. I'm just really loud in general so don't be surprised if I start screaming as loudly as I can caps. So yeah. Nice meeting you!

Mutual sight, mutual sound Mutual struggle, for shared ground
A low growl and a small whine could be heard as an angry looking young man and an obliviously happy canine were starting a stare-down in the middle of the park. “If you dare to take one step into that puddle, you will be sleeping outside for a week." Yoru’s low growl was only answered with an excited yowl as Diana, the arcanine was inching ever so closer to the previously mentioned puddle.
Five minutes. Five minutes were enough after the rain for Diana to find the biggest, muddies of the puddles and rush toward it with intent, and it took only one second for Yoru to notice the impending hazard the pokemon wanted to rain upon him. There was one thing worse than trying to clean the dirty fur of an arcanine, and that was trying to clean the muddy fur of the said species. “One step, Diana.” He said again, with more strictness than the first time, and his expression promised eternal punishment for disobedience. He was not one to stop his pokemon from having fun, but this was something that would give him three extra hours of work once they were home, and he really didn’t need that. It was still only past midnight, and hanging out with an especially dirty pokemon for the rest of the night in the park was not a funny arrangement. And anyway, who the hell heard of an arcanine that loved puddles?
‘You could be more lenient, Little Star. She is just bored’ said an especially gentle voice somewhere in the back of his mind, which only succeeded to pull another growl from Yoru. Leave it to Lunala to be the ever gracious one, especially when the Legend wasn’t the one that will have to lick through their apartment to clean it again. ‘You fell into the lake the other day yourself, remember?’
‘And whose fault was that?’ Yoru answered through their telepathic link, all the while staring at Diana, watching her like a falcon for every millimeter of change. The arcanine seemed to play the perfect statue, one that would bring doomsday as soon as Yoru so much as blinked. ‘You can not fault me, the moon’s reflection was incredibly pretty.’
‘My point exactly.’
‘Oh my.’
Diana’s expression changed, if it was at all possible for an arcanine to look like it found its birthday present a week before the party. Yoru’s attention only faltered for a moment, but that was enough for Diana to jump. After that, only a big splash could be heard, and if someone had a good hearing, they could probably even hear the crash as Yoru mentally destroyed and threw out the giant basket Diana usually occupied while she slept.
“That is it. I am bringing a hose and shower you right here, right now.”
Diana looked like someone had popped her favorite red balloon and trampled on the remains for good measure.

in the heart of the darkness,
you can feel your body shake, fear like a phantom waits.
[attr="class","dh"]A quiet breath of crisp, midnight air filled his lungs, a refreshing change to the stifling indoors even despite the slight humidity that came from the evening's rainfall. At an hour like this, Wulfram was often sternly advised to rest, as he always needed all that he could get, but it was also one of the few moments when he was able to set aside some time for whatever he wanted to do... not that he seemed to have many desires to begin with, when all it took was a peaceful walk to satisfy him presently.
Standing beneath the dim light of a lamppost, the male's silvery hair illuminated in the dark as he stared at the starry sky, the whispered undertones of a melody escaping his lips, drifting away to be heard by none. Both arms uplifted before him, though nothing was there to occupy the space of his grasp, mimicked the poise of a violinist, his motions slow and deliberate, as if gradually composing the notes to a song on the spot.
His attention was not so captivated that he was entirely oblivious to his surroundings, however, and within a few minutes' passing, Wulfram's focus was ajar at the sound of a splash—and not just any splash, but one that carried weight to it, unlike a splash he could simply dismiss as an inconvenient act of nature. Hesitantly dropping his musical facade, his gaze scouring until he spotted a distant silhouette of a beast, rather than a man, which made some sense considering his conscious efforts to avoid other night owls who might have also decided to take a late stroll.
Slightly relieved he may have been, his nerves still frayed a bit at the sight of such a towering pokemon meandering about, especially without knowing whether it was friendly or hostile. Far be it from fact that he disliked pokemon—he preferred them over humans for sure—but when his past was littered with instances of getting hunted down or bullied by a ninetails, it was wholly instinctual for him to fear the larger (or canine) varieties now.
Realizing he had taken air for ransom, the gijinka exhaled his anxiety, and soundlessly began to shamble away, in a direction opposite to the shadow. But he only managed to get so far before he flinched at the sploosh caused by a small puddle of water under his own feet, not as loud as the other's had been, but undoubtedly no more discreet. A chill ran down his spine and, frozen to the spot, his head slowly turned back, praying he would go unnoticed, and he could escape effortlessly.

Mutual sight, mutual sound Mutual struggle, for shared ground
The arcanine turned into a giant puppy when she was near a puddle, and it wasn’t at all different this time either. She was so busy playing with the muddy water that she almost missed the extra splash that was most definitely not from her paws. Her first reaction was to get alarmed that someone was walking through the park in the middle of the night, but when she noticed the other person and that they were standing still with their foot in the previously mentioned puddle, her level of excitement rose.
Diana plastered her upper body to the ground, getting more of her beautiful neck fur dirty much to Yoru’s horror, and excitedly yowled toward the new, unfamiliar person. He stepped into a puddle, so that must mean he likes to play after rain too, right? That must be it! The arcanine’s reasoning was easy and predictable, and in her mind clouded by the potential of a playing partner, she didn’t notice the other gijinka’s unease at all. So with a few shakes of her butt, she leaped into action and jumped toward the poor soul to, well, play with him. But with a giant dog that weighted more than four full-grown man, possibly being tackled to the ground or even just jumping close must have been less than an ideal way of meeting.
Diana only saw the possible playmate. Yoru, however, was much more keen on noticing emotions, mostly due to Lunala’s help who was a professional at zooming in on lost and scared children even in a crowd. For them, seeing this other person being wary was as easy as reading a book. Sadly, they were just a tad bit slower to call the furball back than preferred, so some kind of damage was probably already made, and clothes were getting dirtier than necessary.
“Diana, back!” he called as soon as he was anywhere near them, relieved when he could see the arcanine at least obeying that simple command. “Down!” Diana sat back and rested her whole body on the damp lawn, belly getting more of the dirt. Her eyes were still shining though, tongue out, like she was waiting for a treat. Mental note: no belly-rubs for a month. Yoru didn’t pay attention to her, and instead turned to the poor person that was terrorized by an overgrown pup. “Are you lost? Not many people come to the park in the middle of the night unless they are up to no good.” He said as soon as he took in the young man wondering of Diana caused any lasting damage, and hoping that wasn’t the case. Politeness wasn’t his forte, and maybe his words were more strict than necessary, but he himself was full of built up energy now that the moon was out and the rainclouds were gone.
‘You should have apologized first.’
‘Oh, shut it.’

Wulfram is adorable, also, his history broke my heart asdfghjkl! ;-; And you are completely fine, I loved your post! It's up to you if the giant furball actually tackled Wulfram or just splashed into another puddle to get him muddy too.

in the heart of the darkness,
you can feel your body shake, fear like a phantom waits.
[attr="class","dh"]He witnessed his life coming to a bitter and painful end before he saw the shadow perk up in his direction, promptly beginning to speed its way toward him. Why was he even expecting any less to happen? The yowl that followed instantly after sounded more to him like a belligerent battle cry than a playful yip, and every fiber of his being wanted only to burst into a sprint and leave as fast as he could (which, unfortunately, was not very much), but he knew quite well at this point that running only made things so much worse.
"C-calm—calm..." Accompanied by his poor attempt to calm someone down were his hands thrown up in a hasty form of self-defense, Wulfram clearly discerned now the shape and coloration of an arcanine bounding giddily across the park. By then, he could have also noticed her overly-friendly mannerism, but his mind was locked on the idea of a wild pokemon coming to maul him, a complete contrast to his statuesque posture. "Wait!" Alas, no amount of shouting would halt the ball of muddy fluff in her tracks.
Before he knew it, Wulfram was practically bowled over by the canine, an unceremonious yelp sounding out alongside his own descent backwards with her into the puddle. A typical person probably would have lived through the ordeal relatively unscathed, but fragile as the togekiss was, it left him winded and dizzy. It was all he could do to cover his face in fear of the worst, which to his surprise did not last very long when he suddenly felt relieved of the hefty mass of fur that had practically taken a seat on and covered him in mud.
After a few seconds, the man dared to peek one eye open, registering the sound of someone speaking, presumably to the arcanine, and for once he was glad for another sign of human life. Still laying in the puddle, Wulfram grimaced to himself as he took the time to catch his lost breath and spent energy, perhaps even paler than the moon. Eventually, he rolled over onto his hands and knees at the pace of a slakoth in order to pick himself off the ground, no longer having any care to avoid the water.
"Do I look remotely capable of doing 'no good'?" Sitting up, he groaned his response, a bit too disoriented to question the appropriateness of the stranger's interrogation, far too out of the blue in his opinion. "Who's asking, anyways?" It wasn't as if the park had closing hours, did it? Blue eyes shifted to the hound laying down next to him with a twinge of suspicion and guilt over his own rudeness, but sometimes he simply couldn't stop it from slipping out.

Mutual sight, mutual sound Mutual struggle, for shared ground
This was the best day of Diana’s life! Aside from that day when she got the extra large cupcake, and that one when she got her newest basket-bed, and that one when she was allowed to run through the forest completely alone... But not listing those, it was still the best! Someone was here to play with, and she wasn’t even discouraged by the fact the other person was trying to get away, and obviously didn’t like being tackled to the ground. She didn’t even lose her excitement when she was called back to let the other person get some air, finally. She would just patiently wait, acting like the perfectly well-trained pup and demand her reward later on.
Yoru, on the other hand, had just a tad bit more trouble adapting to the situation, or rather, to the problem he caused. He regretted the rude start even without Lunala stating that he should have apologized, but by now he would rather bite his tongue than relenting to her wishes. He took in the muddy appearance of the stranger as well as his sluggish movements, and decided that whoever it was, he wouldn’t even fight to protect himself, not to mention causing trouble.
“Right now?” Yoru asked back, answering the stranger’s first question. “You look like you cannot hurt a fly.” But better not to judge a book by its cover, he would stay careful, but not outward malicious at least. A smirk still followed his statement, slightly amused by the poor soul’s misfortune rather than looking apologetic.
He hummed in thought and crossed his arms in front of his chest, still looking down at the young man with a trademark smirk. “The local guard, that’s who.” However, his face softened quickly. Laying and sitting in that puddle at midnight must not have been the best that could happen with the stranger, and he would be damned if someone got sick under his watch. He reached out with his right, offering to help the other up if the hand was accepted. “Yoruki.” He said simply, only offering his first name, because that was all that was needed. A complete introduction would be a waste of time, and it wouldn’t ring a bell to anyone anyway. It was only a false name to fill in a hole that cracked in him long ago. “Can you stand?”
Diana whined quietly, realizing that play time was over without it even really starting. She dropped her head on her front paws, dejected, glancing toward the stranger with the most devastating puppy-eyes she could muster up. Yoru paid her little mind, but crossed out the mental notes he made in the last few minutes, deciding that she can sleep inside and even get all the belly-rubs once they are back home. “And who is the person that decided to take a stroll in the park in the middle of the night?” He addressed the pale, sickly young man in front of him.

[attr="class","darkheart"]
in the heart of the darkness,

[attr="class","dh"]The question had been completely rhetorical, leaving Wulfram unable to help but stare at the other with a raised brow and almost incredulous look at being given an obvious answer he was better off not hearing out loud. And from the lips of a complete stranger. "Gee, thanks," His voice was flat, unfeeling, even more put off by the apparent amusement to be had from all this. Blond hair, blue eyes, likely younger than him by some years, though it was difficult to tell in the dark (as well as this day and age), he was beginning to peg this person as some sort of mischief-making delinquent.
"Wonder why that might be." Sighing under his breath, the musician brushed dampened strands of hair from his face, officially registering the discomforting chill of muddy water plastering to his clothes. Anyone would look weak if they got floored by a dog twice (or more) their size. But surprisingly, he didn't appear to be upset about it, whether over the fact that his clothes were now a mess, or that it was the arcanine's doing. Rather, he donned only a look of tired acceptance, as if silently saying, "whatever," or "it's no big deal."
The whimsical dismissal changed when his questionable attacker mentioned something about being a guard, and Wulfram mentally reeled back in appall upon the word sinking in. "Oh," An awkward silence followed as he looked away, presumably in reflection. "... Apologies, sir." He wasn't sure he could fully believe the blond, but he learned the hard way that it was better to trust (see: comply with) the whims of people until he found appropriate reason not to. Besides, it did explain why the large arcanine jumped on him—he probably was a suspicious individual for what it was worth. A deadpanned, pale blue stare fell upon the equally mud-slathered fire pokemon and the happy-go-lucky air she exuded.
On second thought, he suddenly felt certain that wasn't the reason at all.
Rubbing the back of his neck, an outstretched hand came into view, causing the silver-haired gijinka to look up, mildly confused, but not so much that he would continue a streak of impoliteness. "Yeah... much appreciated." Gingerly accepting the assistance, he slowly rose back to his feet, a quick self-evaluation revealing all was still right in the world, save for the hit to his stamina. Not like that was going to be used for much, anyways.
"Er, Wulfram." Holding on to Yoruki's grip for a second longer, he gave a shake and returned the favor out of courtesy, this time meeting eyes before he would let go and squeeze what water he could from the fabrics he wore. "Is it so wrong for a man to spend time beneath the stars now?" Up until a year or two ago, he didn't even have the luxury, and while the question wasn't meant to be vocal, but he said it nonetheless, shaking his head soon after. "Sorry, I'll go if I'm being disruptive."

Mutual sight, mutual sound Mutual struggle, for shared ground
For some odd reason, the stranger pegged Yoru as someone aloof and phlegmatic. Despite giving some verbal stings, he didn’t seem to be all that bothered by the fact his clothes got dirty because of an overly enthusiastic dog. Even the rudeness was more of an obligation that seemed to be logical in the situation. He wasn’t sure why it felt this way, but the stranger might not have been as annoyed as he appeared.
Considering everything, it was that much more amusing to watch his expression change when Yoru actually told him who he was. For some reason, him admitting that he was a guard automatically made him an authority figure on the spot, and earned him politeness in return. He just waved a hand, automatically dismissing the politeness as something unneeded. “Nah, no need for that”, he waved away the apology instantly. He felt the sudden change to be rather fake, especially when the stranger was in worse shape than he himself could probably be.
Diana could only gather a little of the conversation. He was watching the exchange intently though, waiting to be called and also waiting for possible pettings and snuggles, but she had a feeling she would have to do without those for a while.
Yoru helped the pale-haired man up with ease, decidedly happy that his hand was accepted at all. Outwardly though, only his previously plastered smirk remained. “Wulfram. Right. Nice to bump into you.” He returned the handshake when he realized the hold lingered, and then stepped back as soon as he was released. The close proximity was different now that both of them were standing, and staring at that pretty face op close was not something he wanted to continue. He could almost hear Lunala’s giggle in the back of his mind, but he ignored it for both of their sake.
“No one said it's wrong.” He corrected the other, turning toward Diana and scratching the arcanine’s head behind her ear. “But I had to ask, ya’know. Guard duty and all”, was the callous explanation he gave before glancing back to Wulfram. “I prefer being out at night, so I’m not one to judge.” Straightening out his back he laced his arms in front of his chest as he looked the other up and down. Even under the mud he seemed to be somewhat tired or sickly, but that didn’t change the fact the man in front of him was a sight to behold; the circumstances were dimming his shine though.
Another handwave was followed by the same “Nah” as before. For some reason it didn’t feel right for Wulfram to get the short stick from the meeting, so the younger gijinka, mentioned for him to follow. “The guard house is near. You can change your clothes or clean up, whatever you want.” One whistle notified Diana of the sudden departure, and she stood to gallop beside Yoru, then slow down when it was apparent that her trainer’s steps weren’t as big as her own. He looked back above his shoulder to see if Wulfram would follow at all. “You coming or not?”

[attr="class","darkheart"]

[attr="class","dh"]The abrupt politeness of his was not meant to be a front, as Wulfram tended to be cordial under most circumstances so as to not cause upset. But he would admit it probably felt a bit contrasted and fake this time, if in part because he had been caught off-guard by Diana and lost his bearings. The blond's consistent smirking throughout all this wasn't helping to make him look very reputable, either, but luckily, and almost predictably of him, upkeeping the now-awkward pleasantries would be no further requirement.
"My mistake," He nearly apologized again, but thought better to hold his tongue instead. The guard probably wouldn't care for it, either. He seemed to be distracted by something anyhow, while his own attention was half-fixated on the questionably patient fire pokemon waiting a mere few feet away for something more. It was as if her eyes bored eagerly into his unnerved soul, waiting for another chance to "play" with him. In all honesty, he wouldn't mind it one bit, just, only when he was actually prepared. In hindsight, he was glad that Schafer wasn't out of his pokeball this time, else the diligent ninetales might have picked a fight in his quick defense.
Relieved that their little misunderstanding was finally done and cleared, Wulfram simply nodded in acknowledgement. "Makes sense," He replied cautiously, hiding what mild discomfort he had as his company appeared to give him a visual once-over. "For.. you to take on a night job then, I mean." His reasons may have been completely different, but the feeling of being so scrutinized was all too familiar to him, and he masked his goosebumps with a small shiver from the "cold." It made his feet want to take him far away from there, but the option wasn't present. The notion was laughable, really. How was he supposed to perform if he couldn't handle the spotlight?
Hastily, he struck his paranoia down. Yoruki couldn't be that terrible, considering he had such a cheery pokemon. Besides, if he really did have bad intentions, he wouldn't be offering to lead him to a place of some authority, or so logic dictated. "I suppose it wouldn't hurt," The silver-haired male finally conceded, not having the energy to protest or think of an excuse to flee, "beats going back home so soon after leaving." His head was decidedly set on avoiding the necessity for changing clothes or anything of the sort, though; he'd rather not have his wings be discovered by a stranger—or his scars, for that matter. Too many questions would arise for which he had no intention to answer.
"I'll be fine, though. It's just a bit of water." Silently wincing at the mental image of his physician reeling at the words and screeching that he would end up getting sick again (probably true, but he was willing to risk it). Making sure to steer clear of the happy arcanine's path, the togekiss trudged in suit. "Besides, your friend seems to have gotten the greater half of it all." Compared to her, he could barely see the fiery black and orange of her fur or mane anymore.
