Quiet and generally keeping to themselves, Walker reveals a sharp tongue to those new folks who so much as take a wrong step. They're never quite seems happy to do much of anything, a thick begrudging air always floating around them, with only a few exceptions. They tend to be sharp with reporters, who frequently call them a terrible trainer and try to pry into their personal life due to their relationship with Daniel Parks. They're quick to put them down with sharp edged smiles and venom laced words.[break][break][break]

We made an incredible discovery today. We made history! New pokemon are being discovered all the time, but never has there been a discovery like this. A meteor crashed to Earth in Sector 9 and two pokemon emerged from it. They're incredible. They can modify their bodies on a cellular level and have demonstrated incredibly psychokinetic abilities. They were intimidated at first, but peacefully came with us to the space center. I think they want to learn about us.[break][break]
We're calling them deoxys.
Both deoxys are incredibly intelligent. They have rapidly learned to understand common English and while they cannot verbally communicate (we can't even identify a mouth), they are able to communicate via drawn pictures. They are fascinated by everything in the lab. Entity One has taken a particular liking to puzzles. [break][break]
Lab test have shown that their bodily composition is like nothing we've ever observed. They're made of elements we don't even have names for. Without a doubt, they are from outside of our solar system. We don't even know if it's accurate to call them a pokemon, but what else do we call them? Alien just sounds so unfriendly. We've been keeping Professor Oak and Professor Birch informed about our studies. Professor Birch has entered Deoxys into the local pokedex as number 211, while Oak has assigned them the national dex number of 386. The actual entries are still pending as we do more research.
They've been stolen! We were attacked and they were stolen from us, snatched away by Team Rocket. Arceus only knows what they plan to do with them. I'm scared for them. I'm scared for us. With such powerful pokemon in their hands, who knows what Team Rocket will do. Arceus, let nothing horrible happen. Arceus protect them.
[break][break]
[break]
Everything hurts. They cut away parts of them to study. They subject them through so much pain that for days they can't even form a coherent thought. They force them to do things they don't want to. They make them hurt others and oh, they hate the sounds of pain they make. They try so hard to not think about it at night. They try not to think about anything at night and eventually, they just stop thinking altogether.[break][break]
Two escapes but oh, they leave One behind. One has a hollow ache in their chest, but they don't think about it. Thinking about makes it hurt more. They'll do anything to find them again and despite all the pain Team Rocket has caused them, they say they'll help them find their other half. All they have to do is kill Green. They say that'll provoke Red which will draw Two. That'll bring them home. They could be together again. That's what they said, so they obeyed. They attacked her when she was on Seagallop Ferry, they steal her parents away and beat down her pokemon. So close, almost there, just a little longer and she'll be dead. Ah, but they're interrupted. Red and Blue show up and their pokemon snap at them. They don't like the faces they're making. They hate the tone of their voices. They can't stand it because it makes them ache in a way that the attacks from their pokemon just don't. They can't stand it so they run. They're scared that Team Rocket will be upset. They're scared that they'll hurt them even more. The fear wraps around him like a noose as he flees.[break][break]
Their punishment cuts deep, but the abandonment cuts deeper. They were used, abused, deceived. They had no intention of reuniting them and their other half and that fact made them swell with rage. They weren't going to get away with this. They weren't going to let them. That's what they thought, at least, but then they met Walker.[break][break]
Walker was twenty-one or twenty-two when they met. They were honey eyes on a deceivingly beautiful face. They were a tongue that cut deep when it wanted to, but never did Walker direct its edge to them. They were kind. "Are you okay?" He offered them his mind and body without hesitation. He offered them such safety and warmth without asking for anything more than stories of what they'd seen in their time in space. It was so nice. They felt like they were home again and the lonely ache in their chest eased with Walker's presence.[break][break]
They meet someone. His name is Daniel and he is everything they aren't. He is cheerful and optimistic and kind. He gives them chocolates in a cute little bag. It was Valentine's day, Walker told Deoxys, explaining in detail the significance of chocolate. Neither was sure if it was a gesture of affection or if they simply didn't want the chocolates. They were so good, though. A pity for whoever made them. Daniel tried to talk to them, but they were busy eating and mostly nodded in agreement to whatever he said..[break][break]
The next time, he brought cookies and the time after that, brownies. They were excited to see him again on the bus, excited enough to talk to them first. They were crushed, though. Surely they had the right person. They'd seen him three times already. It was definitely him, but he didn't remember them. That bit into them so sharply and his explanation did dull it, but oh it still hurt. As they grew closer, it became easier to cope with Daniel's anteretrograde amnesia.[break][break]
Their first date was to a gym. It wasn't exactly what one would typically consider romantic, but it was thrilling to see Daniel fight the gym leader. Their chest bubbled with happiness when Daniel and his team defeated the gym leader's last pokemon. The happiness lasts for a while, sticks around like a sickness in their chest, but they don't mind. They don't mind at all. They follow Daniel happily as he clears the next five gyms. Six shiny pins and looking at them and knowing how hard Daniel worked for them and how much he deserved them made their heart flutter.[break][break]
They are cursed, though. Of this they are certain. A bitter realization that nothing they have ever lasts, not even Walker, because his consciousness erodes away the longer they are within him, but by the time they realize this it is too late. Walker cannot exist without them. They cry. For the first time, deoxys cries, shedding tears from eyes that aren't even theirs because they soil everything they touch. They can't do this anymore. They can't even look at Daniel. Their heart aches at the thought of them. They would ruin him, too, surely.[break][break]
They run. They run to Johto. Without goodbye, without last words. They just left and the anger that had laid dormant in them began to boil up again.
A massive meteor has veered off its expected course and is on a collision course with Earth! Due to the size, large-scale damage is expected. Steven Stone along with scientists at Hoenn's Mossdeep Space Center are working hard to find a way to divert or destroy the meteor before it enters the atmosphere. Citizens are suggested to listen to law enforcement and look out for emergency broadcasts.
[break][break]
[break]
They felt comfortable. They feel safe inside the meteor. It feels like home. They're lonely without Walker, but it's okay. At least soon they'll be reunited with their other half. They know they'll survive this. Walker won't, but that's okay, isn't it? Surely death is better than the constant daydream he's in now. Death would be a mercy, wouldn't it? Daniel wouldn't survive either, but in time, they would've ruined him. At least like this it was on their own terms. Only they and their other half would survive and they were certain of that. They'd survived harsh solar winds, incredible radiation, and the harsh cold of space. A massive meteor impact would not kill either of them. And if it did, who cared? It wasn't like they had anything left to lose. They would win either way. In death or in the destruction of all those who had dared hurt them. Those who had used them, hurt them, and toyed with them. They would never forgive them. This would be their retribution. Death would be the only way they could atone. They would crash this meteor into the Earth and they would be free. They would seek out a different planet with different species. One so much kinder. One that wouldn't soil every good thing they had.[break][break]
Or so had been the plan, but like everything so far, it was ruined. Everything had exploded, green filling their vision and an angry cry, muffled in the thinness of the mesosphere. In their anger, they fought, but it wasn't enough. They weren't strong enough and Rayquaza cracked their core and left them to die in space. How cruel. Everything on this planet was so, so cruel.[break][break]
They could do nothing as Earth's gravity pulled them in and they tore through the atmosphere. They spent days in their delta shield, hiding away from everything that moved, before making their way back to Johto, back to Walker. They didn't know what else to do or where else to go in their misery. Walker was home. Walker would welcome them with what was left of himself. Walker would forgive them and tell them that it was okay. It was going to be okay.[break][break]
Ah, it was so warm with Walker. [break][break]
They remained in Johto for two years where they studied biology, chemistry, and astronomy, before moving back to Hoenn. They contact Professor Cozmo again and explain the situation. Cozmo puts them into contact with another scientist who suggests that the consciousness is entirely physical and deoxys' presence in Walker's body was altering his body and thus his consciousness. If Deoxys could figure out its root, they could maintain it. For another two years they stayed there and studied, trying to find a way to salvage Walker.[break][break]
They remembered Daniel. Four years had gone and they haven't even spoken to him once. They heard that he became champion. They were happy for him, but their chest still ached at the thought of him. They worried throughout the Imum conflict, but still they couldn't work themselves up to calling him or even texting him. Just how long were they going to avoid him? They'd been away doing research, sure, they could give him that excuse, but it wasn't like what they were doing couldn't be done in Lyeant.[break][break]
Maybe it was time to go home.
