TWO YEARS AGO, A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION GOING BY THE NAME TEAM IMUM WRECKED CHAOS ACROSS THE LAND, DAMAGING CITIES AND KILLING THOUSANDS OF CITIZENS. While Imum itself has long since been disbanded, however, the region remains broken: entire towns have been laid to waste and the Association struggles to find homes for those who were lucky enough to survive the attempted genocide. Reconstruction trudges on as usual... but with three factions - the Association, the corporations, and the people - each wishing to take the rebuilding of an entire region down opposite paths, how long will it be before Lyeant's last leg gives out permanently?

we're officially re-opened! come check out our event, the pokeathlon forever to enjoy some fresh restart activities. let leap know if there are any skin bugs, and they'll be sorted out accordingly!
Care to hear about our lord and savior Operation: Mindcrime? In all seriousness: Hello, hello! I'm Pharaoh Leap – or just Leap – local head admin and rock opera enthusiast. On the rare chance you catch me in a time when I'm not bawling about characters entirely written into song, you may see me actually doing work around the site, like skinning, making too many characters, and encouraging others to also make too many characters. I only know how to write angst, and in no fewer than six trillion words an app or post, so if you like dying while reading like I like dying while writing, I'm the girl for you. ;o
Howdy guys! The names Astro and I am your resident Brit & Red muse (you'll honestly see me more on him than any of my other characters). I'm a moderator and my main job is to make sure everything is running smoothly so the Admins can focus on other things, you'll often see me within the apps and shops, etc when I'm not on Red. What can I say about myself? Apart from being a Red fanboy I like music and games and yaoi huehue, I honestly never now what to put into these sort of things but ohwell, I'm more of a "ask me and I'll tell" sorta guy. Anyway, from my personally I hope that you enjoy the site and what we produce here but also if you're new, please look around and if you like what you see please consider joining for rad plots that everyone gives! :D
Hey there~ Nano over here! I uh.. Wait, I'm doing this right, right? Bleh. So I'm a moderator over here - fun, fun - who kind of just.. Keeps an eye on everyone. You know, the whole app thing and what not. Uh.. Lets see.. When I'm not doing school work (because I may or may not be trying to be a good student) I'm probably storming up new ideas like events and etc. Or plots. Plots are always good, too. As you can see, I uh.. Have the horrible habit of making way too many characters. I swear, I was tempted with plots, ships and angst. It's like, the holy trinity. Uh.. What else is there about me? Oh, right! Please excuse my obnoxiousness. I'm just really loud in general so don't be surprised if I start screaming as loudly as I can caps. So yeah. Nice meeting you!
tbe: take two! is inspired by, but not associated with nintendo's pokemon franchise. the current skin was created by pharaoh leap using font icons primarily from ion icons and fonts from google fonts. banner art by vav of pixiv. characters, with the exception of canons from the manga, belong to the members who write them, and all posts and templates on site are credited to their respective authors and artists. we claim nothing that is not ours.

JUN HIYAZAKI Hey, he and Walker are in a similar situation! They both had legendary/mythical pokemon save their lives and I think that's super cool! O: Maybe these two could sit down and talk about that? While Jun seems to willingly continue hosting Suicine, Walker cannot survive without Deoxys, so maybe we could work something with their different situations? :V

junie kuroyasu Jun sounds really cool! O: I couldn't figure out your discord (oops), but I think she and Walker might get along? They're a medical biologist so there is a certain common ground there that we could use to have them be friends or maybe professional acquaintances? ovo// They're working hard for their own selfish reasons, including saving their host body, but also trying to atone for the terrible things they've done in the past!

"I don't believe you." Those words were the first things Danny said and Walker felt an icy cold weight in their chest. It latched onto all of his insides and pulled it taught, pulled it to breaking, all in the split second before he continued. "When you said you don't have a heart, I mean. Maybe it's not red, or squishy, and doesn't pump blood and all that other important stuff. But you didn't have to come back. There's nothing left of Lyeant anymore. You didn't have to come back to me, at least." Danny said. He seemed to struggle at first. Couldn't quite figure out how to put his emotions and thoughts into the right words, but as he continued he grew more confident, more firm, and Walker could only stare. "And you wouldn't tell me – you wouldn't tell me that I would be 'better off' with someone else if you didn't have a heart. So I don't believe you." He looked so defiant, almost angry, and then suddenly it all shattered. Tears bloomed fast in his eyes and his voice wobbled with the beginnings of weeping. "I love you. I – I really, really love you. I don't care if you're Deoxys, or if you're a Bidoof, or Arceus itself. I still – I'm not going to stop, just – just don't tell me to stop. Even if you don't feel the same. Even if you think I'm stupid for it. At least let me have this."
Ah, now how exactly was Walker supposed to react to something like that? First:
"Oh— Stars, don't cry." Danny reached out to them and they reached back, holding tight the hand that so desperately sought to confirm their presence. Their chest twisted. What a horrible gesture. To be so scared of it not being real that he had to physically touch them to confirm that yes, this is real. "I'm here. I'm here." They reassured. How horribly they must have hurt him with their sudden departure. To make him cry like this— Walker used his free hand to wipe away his tears.
Second:
"You know, I have spent most of my existence in the vastness of space, unaware of most emotions. Boredom, entertainment, love, hate. There was simply existing. When we came to this planet, everything about it was new. The mere existence of other life and all of the emotions that came with interacting with that life. But, humans taught us more pain than they did anything else. Only initially were we treated with kindness. Soon stolen and abused, I thought all humans were like Team Rocket. Not once did anyone try to help us. Violent, merciless, and uncaring. Willing to do whatever it took to get up higher even if it meant torturing others to get there. And then there's you. At the end of it all, there's you. Wonderful and kind Daniel Parks. I expected you to be angry. I thought you might yell at me or maybe even hit me. Stars know I deserve it. But—" And they choked a laugh, an embarrassed smile, "Looking back, I feel I should've expected this. You are, after all, the kindest person I've met. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not telling you the truth earlier; I'm sorry for running away; I'm sorry for making you cry."

Quiet and generally keeping to themselves, Walker reveals a sharp tongue to those new folks who so much as take a wrong step. They're never quite seems happy to do much of anything, a thick begrudging air always floating around them, with only a few exceptions. They tend to be sharp with reporters, who frequently call them a terrible trainer and try to pry into their personal life due to their relationship with Daniel Parks. They're quick to put them down with sharp edged smiles and venom laced words.

Walker
He tells you his story without words, his life story as open to you now as your own memories are. You simply know. You simply remember. They aren't your memories, but you have them nonetheless. Walker begins as Walker. A small boy in Sandgem Town, Sinnoh, he grows up surrounded by pokemon. He spends his free time in Professor Rowan's lab, pretending to understand the books he's pulled from the shelves and asking countless questions of the professor. He grows to love pokemon with an insatiable desire for progress. Always going forward, but he's stuck in this town, barred in by the tall grass and no friends with an appetite for travel.[break][break]
"I want to leave this town. I want to travel and see more. Lend me a pokemon so I can learn more." He asks and Professor Rowan gives. A chimchar, a mere child, but to Walker they are like gold in his hands. He smiles in a way the professor hasn't seen in years and then he is off, eager and hungry for more. Always, always, more.[break][break]
[break] One, two, three. And soon, eight. With hard work to makeup for his few pokemon, Walker defeats all eight gyms of the Sinnoh region. He has his badges pinned to his bag for all to see, so happy in how far he's come and how much he's learned. He marches through Victory Road with his meager team, but he collapses, falters, fails before he can reach the end. For days, headaches have plagued him. His heart quivered and his lungs struggled to keep breath. Discoloured marks dotted his skin, but he'd pushed forward until he couldn't anymore.[break][break]
"It's terminal." Walker looks up at the doctor from his hospital bed. He can't move, not really. Every breath feels like a weight rests on his chest. He can barely feel his heart beat in his chest. "There's no treatment. It's destroying your DNA and disrupting cellular reproduction. As time passes, cells die and new ones are made to replace them, but your replacements are wrong and it's killing you. Your organs will fail, but we'll do everything we can to keep you comfortable. So just—"[break][break]
"No." [break][break]
"What?"[break][break]
"I won't sit here and wait for death." He snarls as he, with great effort, sits up, "I'm not going to die laying down in a hospital just waiting. I won't. I won't." And they can't keep you here, so you go, heavy bodied, but with your pokemon at your side. You'd planned to travel other regions after challenging the Elite Four, but you can't battle them now. So, why not travel now?[break][break]
He goes to Hoenn. He wants to see and travel across a region with so much water. He wants to spend the last of his life still traveling and still learning, but it seems that Arceus demands he suffer.
Breaking News
"This is an emergency broadcast! A large meteor is on a collision course and is expected to hit the Hoenn region directly in two days. Please evacuate the region. Emergency transport has been arranged at all sea and water ports. Citizens who can travel air or sea with their pokemon can do so across borders without visas or permits in order to seek refuge elsewhere. This is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill." [break][break] [break] Walker does not evacuate. He decides that he will die anyway, so why not die from the impact of a massive meteor? That would be interesting, wouldn't it? He has lived four years since he was diagnosed with this wretched disease and he has given up. So he watches as death approaches as a blazing fire growing bigger with every heartbeat. But then, a green bolt goes to meet it. A cry echoes across the sky, thunders in his chest and rattles his bones and he watches in stunned silence as the meteor is shattered and its pieces fall down to the earth. In awe, he thinks of how beautiful it is and he wonders, just what is that green beast in the sky? A god? And what is that thing that it fights so violently? It falls, whatever it is, to the ground and he feels sad for that pitiful thing in the meteor. How lonely it must have been, trapped in that rock, only to be broken free and immediately attacked. So, slowly he walks towards that thing that fell from the sky.[break][break]
The air smells of metal and ozone, of burnt wood and dirt. Before him in an area cleared by impact, a thing struggles. It fights, writhing in pain and clawing at the dirt trying to stand again. He stares bewildered, fascinated in its struggle, and then he steps forward. Suddenly, as it notices him, there's a splitting pressure in his head and eyes burning with pain and wrath bore into him. It lasts only for a moment before the thing collapses back into the dirt. Walker takes a moment to recover, but then he steps forward again. The pressure returns, but it's weaker now. "I'm not going to hurt you." He says almost breathlessly, gripping chest as his heart beats unevenly in his chest, "I'm going to try to help you." It seems to understand and the pressure vanishes and does not return, even as he crouches next to the creature. He can see a crack in the crystalline sphere embedded in its chest, so he sprays a potion directly onto it. The cracks mend only a fraction before deepening and fracturing again. The creature cries out in agony. So he sprays another and then another, one after another, hoping to mend the damage before it can break again, but it's not enough. It weeps, he thinks, from anger more than pain as the core fractures again. And then, it speaks.[break][break]
DEOXYS
Everything hurts. They cut away parts of you, take them away, then return for more. You can't think, pain clouding everything and reducing you to something just clinging to survival. You can't fight them, not anymore. It all just hurts too much. They make you hurt others just to ease your own pain and you remember Doctor Cozmo telling you that things like this are wrong. Breaking things like this is wrong. You can't bring yourself to feel anything but exhausted. If it means an ease to the agony they put you through, if it means easing the pain of your other half, you'll kill all they want. [break][break]
Ah, you want to see them, your other half. A single cell virus in space, mutated by radiation, then split into two. You are not complete without the other you. Maybe, if you're good, if you do everything these people want, they'll cut this space between the two of you. If it means being together again, you'll do anything.[break][break]
You weep. You mourn and you anger, thrashing against your restraints and your prison keepers. You are alone! All alone! Where did they go? Your other half, why did they leave? Come back, come back! Don't leave me alone here! You scream into the air, pleading them back, but they don't come, and for the first time you are alone and you think you'd rather die.[break][break]
"You miss them, right?" You don't answer, black eyes staring hatefully at the man in front of you. He commands authority over all around you, commands it over you. You smiles at your silence and it makes you feel sick. "Let's make a deal, okay, Number One. Do this and Two will come back. You can be together again." You strain against your binds. Two will return? You'll be together again? Your desperation to reconnect with your other half kills the anger that has stewed in your soul for how they abandoned you, and without hesitation you agree to Giovanni's demands. Anything, you'll do it. Whatever he wants, as long as you can see them again.[break][break]
Kill Blue. Simple. You've done it before. Choked the life from their fragile, pulsing bodies. This time, you'll be able to do it without repercussion. You can do whatever you want now with no one here to hold your leash. You can escape. Fly back into the sky and never return. You consider it, but always the empty ache in your chest reminds you of Two. You can't do it. Maybe they could leave you behind, but you can't leave them. So, you move upon the girl. Her pokemon attack blind, unable to see you, and so they are easy to deal with. You knock them aside, eager to get this over with, eager to see your other half again. You wrap around her throat, squeeze tight, and she struggles against you, but she weakens. Inevitably, they always weaken. And then people are coming, shouting, screaming, with pokemon at the ready, and you panic. You make a decision in a split second and then you and Blue's parents are gone.[break][break]
You worry and you fear. You could not even complete such a simple objective. You should have attacked her properly. Eviscerated her, cut her to pieces in an instant. You have her parents, unconscious now in your grasp, but what will he do to you now? You're scared, but you hold onto the hope that you will see Two again. You hope. You hope—
Agony paralyzes you. "How disappointing." Giovanni looks at you, but you look only at the beedrill whose stinger crushes against your core. Shattered, broken, pieces held in place only by the sheer force of your will. "I have no use for incompetent pokemon. I only need one of you, anyway." He gestures and the beedrill retracts its stinger and you fall to the ground. He leaves, expecting you to die of your injuries, but even hurt as you are, it's not enough. Slowly, you repair within the safety of your delta shield. The pieces are put back together, cracks mended, and after a time you are whole again.[break][break]
And you are angry.[break][break]
[break] This feels like home. You were here like this once before, so long ago. Once, it was just you and your other hurtling alone through space. You had no idea if anyone or anything else like you existed. Did anything else in existence think? Did anything else feel? For so long it was empty planets, their satellites, and stars. And then you and your exact other half. This was fine. You weren't lonely because you didn't have a concept of loneliness. You weren't bored, because you did not know you were supposed to be. Things were simple. You miss it, mourn its loss, as you curl tight inside your tomb of rock. It was your idea to stop at this wretched planet instead of moving on. Everything that's happened to you both is your fault. This horrible planet with its horrible people who do nothing but maim and exploit. You'll destroy it all, bit by bit, starting with where this hurt began. You'll destroy it all, because in the end you know that Two will survive it and you'll reunite and then things can go back to the way they were. You won't be lonely anymore. It won't hurt anymore. [break][break]
You hear a cry. It shakes the meteor you guide from inside and then suddenly it's all gone, the weapon you pulled all the way from the asteroid belt. You scream. Who stops you? Who denies you your justice? A green dragon is before you, two mere children upon its back, and they attack without mercy, without concern, heartless beasts they are! They break your core, shatter you to pieces, and leave you to rot, just as Giovanni did. You hate them, these children. You hate them, these humans. Your thoughts static out with the breaking of your crystalline brain as you fall to the earth. Still, even forced to the ground, you fight. You claw at the dirt, try to stand, try to get back up to the sky because you don't want to die here, not on this fucking rock. Anywhere else but here. You don't want to die here![break][break]
Someone is here. You don't know who, but they step closer and closer, so you apply pressure to the mind. Fill his head with garbage signals until it buzzes so much it hurts. Leave, don't come close! But they do. "I'm not going to hurt you." His heart flutters uncertainly in his chest and his lungs struggle for breath, but still he comes closer, "I'm going to try and help you." Help? When was the last time anyone tried to help you? You want to sneer at him, lash out and chase him away. What can a mere human do for you except hurt you more? But you are exhausted. You cannot stand and can barely move, so fine, come forward, you'll allow him to assist only because you can no longer resist. He sits (falls) at your side. He sprays (hands shaking) potion after potion, but it's not enough and what heals only cracks again, spreading more each time.[break][break]
"Help me."[break][break]
"There's nothing more I can do."[break][break]
"You're dying. I can help you. Help me."[break][break]
"Tell me what to do."[break][break]
You touch him and where you touch you meld together and the discoloration of his skin, the dying blue-grey as his body slowly suffocates, disappears. You push farther and farther, repair more and more, and he stares dumbfounded. "Help me." You beg, "Don't let me die. Help me." And he stares at you, honey eyes wide with a mix of horror and fascination, but he doesn't rip away from you, doesn't thrash or scream or panic.
"After this, will I still be me?" He asks and sounds almost dazed.
"I don't know." You don't. Consciousness is not a concept you understand. You don't know if there is such thing as a soul or if consciousness is just the sum of all the electric pulses firing through the brain. But neither does he and you watch as he considers it. He thinks of how he might lose himself, replaced entirely by you and he thinks of what will happen if he doesn't do this. How will he die? Will his heart stop in his sleep? Will he suffocate to death? Will his brain be alive enough to even experience his own end? At the end of it all, though, he wants more. To see more, experience more, be more. More, more, always more. [break][break]
"Okay, I'll help you."[break][break]
[break]
"Excuse me, what bus is this?" Sharp honeyed eyes dig into the black haired man.[break][break]
"It's the northbound M14." You slowly say with disinterest, but he smiles brightly and thanks you. You watch for a second, then turn your attention back out the window. You halfheartedly count the stops to your destination, but your mind mostly wanders aimlessly. You think of what you ate for lunch, then of the book you'd read last night, then you think of a hypothetical situation in which this bus crashes and you die.[break][break]
"Excuse me, sir, is this the M16?" You turn back and blink, then scowl at the man.[break][break]
"Yes. I just told you it was." And he seems surprised, then confused, then apologetic all in a matter of seconds.[break][break]
"I'm sorry, I have anterograde amnesia. I can't—"[break][break] He begins, but you cut him off.[break][break]
"I know what it means." You're interested now in this man. You studied anterograde amnesia briefly in your time pursuing a degree in medical biology, but you'd never interacted with anyone who suffered from it. "I'm Walker. What stop are you getting off at?" He shuffles through some notecards, then looks back up at you.[break][break]
"Twenty-second street and Parkhurst. And my name's Daniel, but everyone calls me Danny."[break][break]
"Hey Danny." He looks at you, "This is twenty-second and Parkhurst." And recognition flashes across his face as he bolts up from his seat, quickly gathering his things. You can't help but laugh. He thanks you and when he forgets your name, you remind him. You frequently see each other on the bus but while you remember him, he never remembers you, but that's fine. You enjoy how bright he shines nonetheless.[break][break]
[break] "Walker?" He looks like he's fighting through a dream, struggling to hold onto its memory while it desperately tries to flee. You stare shocked, then smile as he nervously takes a seat next to you as he's done for so many days now. [break][break]
"Good morning, Danny." And he lights up like the sun, so happy to have remembered and to have done so correctly. During your commute he holds onto conversation better, forgetting still but doing so less often and you marvel at it, at the progress, and you wonder if maybe he'll be able to make a recovery. You don't mention it, though. You don't want to get his hopes up.[break][break]
"Walker,I'm going to challenge the gyms." He says suddenly, "Why don't you come fight them with me?"[break][break]
"No, I'm not much of a fighter," His face drops and you are quick to smile, "But I'll come cheer you on." And he brightens back up, shining like the sun.[break][break]
Despite his condition, despite how he constantly forgets where he is and what he is doing, Danny excels at pokemon battles. He forgets, you're sure, because you see his eyes unfocus then refocus, how he pauses sometimes before he takes his moves. You're not sure if he sees the field and remembers of if his intuition is simply that sharp, but he tears through his enemies regardless. Gym after gym, he collects the badges meticulously and you are so genuinely happy for him. You watch him and cheer for him. You're there for him every step of the way—[break][break]
( That's what you'd like to say. )[break][break] [break] You've lied to him. This whole time, you've lied. This face isn't yours. This voice isn't yours. He doesn't even know your name. And yet you see how he changes around you and it scares you. It's only a matter of time. So, what will he do when he finds out the truth?[break][break]
( He'll leave. He'll shout and scream because you lied to him, you betrayed him, and he will leave you behind and you'll be all alone again. )[break][break]
"I'm going to Johto."[break][break]
"Why?"[break][break]
You don't reply.[break][break]
[break]
"Hey, Walker, come check this out." Clara gestures you over excitedly the moment she notices you passing her office. [break][break]
"I'm on break." You say as you make your tea, but she insists. She has a television mounted on the wall. It's supposed to be used to display large detailed microscopic images or large amounts of data, but it's more used to watch the news. With a sigh, you walk in to watch the broadcast with her. [break][break]
"We're coming to you live from the Lyeant Pokemon League where a man challenges the Elite Four. His name is—" You stare. You ache. Your breath hitches in your throat and the cup in your hands drops to the floor and shatters.[break][break]
"Shit— Walker, are you okay?" You only distantly hear her, "Walker? Walker, are you crying?" Slowly, you look at her and then you touch your face, cheeks wet with tears. Have you ever cried before? Ah, your chest throbs. You turn and again you run away.[break][break]
( You are so very good at running away. )[break][break]
It hits you like a train, this guilt. Washes over you like the floodwaters and pulls you under. You lock yourself in the dark of your lab and cover your face as you wrestle with these feelings and this body. What a horrible feeling, this grief. How lonely this existence is. How long has there been this vacancy in your chest? How long has this wound festered and spread? You left him. Out of fear, you fled with only a sudden announcement and no explanation. You should've stayed. You should've been there at his side! You should've— [break][break]
Once, Walker was human. He traveled Sinnoh, battling gym after gym until he beat them all, challenged the Elite Four, lost, and moved to travel different regions to strengthen his team. In Johto, they were diagnosed with a terminal illness with no known cure that was causing rapid detrimental mutations to his DNA that resulted in faulty cell reproduction. It was to kill him quickly, but painfully. They encountered Deoxys Entity One after they failed to use a meteor to cause destruction upon the Earth and ideally kill themselves as well. They merged in a symbiotic relationship. Walker gave Deoxys his body as a medium for them to heal in while Deoxys, in return, repaired the rampant DNA damage within Walker's body, although Deoxys was unable to stop the root problem and must constantly repair his DNA. Deoxys is the dominant personality whereas Walker's consciousness chooses to remain dormant until his condition can be properly treated and they can separate again.
[break][break]
>>> FRIENDSHIP
Walker is cold and generally unfriendly. They're seen largely as the champion's shadow, a blight upon his reputation. Most dislike him by reputation alone and those who don't tend to dislike him for his prickly attitude. So cruelly hurt by human hands, they keep people at a distance. They are more likely to be friendlier with gijinkas. They are still largely distrusting of others and it takes great dedication and honesty to get close to Walker.
FRIENDS OF THE CHAMPION Walker didn't exactly treat Danny right and while Danny might not remember, his friends probably do. While some resent Walker, others are grateful to have them back. A stabilizing stone in Danny's hectic life of memories made and rapidly destroyed. They're one of the few things Danny consistently remembers and that's good, right?
>>> HATESHIP
Despite his abrasive and harsh atitude, Walker would not say that they particularly hate many people. They see the average person with indifference, but they do hold a special loathing for the various teams of the world, most notably Team Rocket, who captured and abused them.
TEAMS Walker, with no real exception, hates all teams. Rocket, Plasma, Magma, Imum. They hate the ideologies they stand for, the needless destruction they've consistently brought about, the pain and suffering, and the death under the name of the "greater good". They will treat members of various teams, active or not, harshly, but with Team Rocket members, they will react violently, unable to forgive anyone involved in all they went through.[break][break]
FRIEND'S OF THE CHAMPION Walker didn't exactly treat Danny right and while Danny might not remember, Danny's other friends probably do. They remember how Danny felt and how Walker left without a farewell, a note, an apology, nothing, only to return years later and try to pickup where they left off. Some of them surely don't like Walker because of this, maybe believing him to be taking advantage of Danny. Might be an interesting dynamic to explore.
>>> LOVESHIP
Taken, but plots still remain!
Ex's Walker, before Deoxys, had partners in the past, although most were in Sinnoh. Breakups may have been neat or messy, but it would be interesting for them to cross paths again and see Walker as a vastly changed person due to the presence of Deoxys.
>>> WANTED
see me fall down - let me die here slowly. nothing goes right, not a trace of honesty. i'm to blame, so i'll remain. black, white; day, night; it's all the same. see is run down - cut away, no worries. say no more. i can surely say that i've had enough. i can't remember - that very day, that very day changed me. happiness died like a light i carried. i'll sleep tonight and hope to finally leave a world which i don't believe, a life which i don't need, and then i'll finally be free.

There was no response, not one to any of his texts, but still they waited. Minutes felt like hours, but they'd wait an eternity for Daniel. When Daniel's visage appeared through a break in the crowd, it felt like the world stopped spinning and they were now the only ones in existence now. All alone in this silent airport, an impassable void between them.
( Ah, but Danny crossed it so easily when Walker couldn't move an inch. )
They stared in silence, stunned not because Daniel was actually there, but out of fear of what they were going to do. "Hey." They couldn't manage above a whisper and they wondered if Daniel even heard them or if their voice was washed away by the crowd of the terminal. They forced a smile as they clutched their bag tight. "It's late, but congratulations. You worked hard, didn't you, Mister Champion?" Their smile grew, faltered, then fell altogether. "Can we talk in private somewhere? I need to talk to you and it's important. I think I've put it off long enough now."
Walker knew that being champion came with perks, but this? They couldn't say they expected this. A whole suite, just for the champion, and oh, it was luxurious. Daniel had achieved so much in their absence. They were happy for him, but they felt like they'd been left behind. "So, uh," Arceus, there was no good way to go about this, no smooth way to explain it all, "I first want to apologize about leaving so suddenly and never contacting you." They wrung their hands warm and pink, "I'm not going to dance around the topic: I've kept some important things from you. I am not who you think I am." This was probably going to be difficult for Daniel to wrap his head around, but they hoped his memory would at least last the explanation, "Have you ever heard of a Pokemon called deoxys? There's only two. In the entirety of the universe, there are only two of us. Because of that and a variety of national security reasons, we're not a well known pokemon. But I am one of those two deoxys, just...inside Walker's body. I am a pokemon inside a human's body. I'm not human. I'm not Walker." They paused. Was Danny keeping up? They couldn't tell. "Do you remember a few years ago that large meteor that was falling towards Hoenn? Do you remember how Rayquaza and two kids destroyed it? I was inside that meteor. I was guiding that meteor. I had been captured and abused by Team Rocket and I thought all humans the same as them. Thought it'd be better to destroy this planet than risk humans spreading their violence across the galaxy. I failed, clearly, and I nearly died. The only reason I'm alive is because Walker and I merged bodies in an attempt to keep each other alive. It worked, somehow. But I can't leave Walker or he'll die. His DNA is mutating and replicating with those mutations in a way that's rapidly killing him. I can stop that, but only as long as I am merged with him and maintaining all stages of cellular development. Eventually, we will separate. Walker's consciousness has been dormant for years, nearly as long as he and I have been together, but one day either he will give up and die or I will find a way to treat his condition. Regardless, eventually we will separate. What, then?"
"This personality, this identity in which you are familiar with. This 'Walker' is 'me', don't misunderstand. Walker's own original conscious, again, went dormant long before I came to Lyeant, but the point stands: I'm nothing like you. I don't have a heart, I don't have blood, or fingers or toes or even hair. We share only a similar arrangement of exterior body parts and the fact of our sentience and sense of self. How do you love something like that? Isn't it better to love someone that's the same species? Isn't it better to just forget about me?"

Walker hated airplanes. They didn't have a good reason for it, especially since they themselves could fly on their own. They just hated them. Or that's what they told themselves as the bus bounced along towards Goldenrod City. They told themselves they were anxious about flying in a hunk of metal and not, in fact, anxious about seeing Daniel again. It'd been over two years now, hadn't it? They scrunched their brows and looked away from the view flashing through the bus windows and back at their pokegear. They'd been fiddling it for most of the ride, either staring at Daniel's contact info or starting a text message only to erase it, start again, give up, and go back to it. It'd been over two years since they'd spoken. They'd left without a word and didn't respond to any of Daniel's attempts to contact them. Eventually, Daniel just stopped and it had been radio silence between them for over a year now. They wondered, were they even still a contact in their pokegear? They couldn't blame him if they weren't. You could hardly call their relationship a friendship anymore. Still, Walker needed to talk to him. They were going to talk to him because they'd been avoiding it long enough. It'd been eating at them long enough, festering and tearing them apart from the inside out. They could've called or texted. They could've done anything. Anything would've been better than nothing.
Well, now was the time for anything, right? Just commit and take the leap. It felt like someone was wrapping their fingers tight around their throat, bu they deleted the draft that had been sitting there for the past ten minutes and started again. They didn't give themselves time to hesitate, sending the messages with shaking fingers.

They snapped their pokegear shut and clenched it tight. Part of them wanted to just throw it out the window so they wouldn't have to look at it again. They couldn't see the rejection if they didn't have their pokegear, right? That would be childish, though. Besides, they had to remind Daniel soon. Assuming Daniel even remembered them in the first place. If he didn't, perhaps that was for the better, although it made Walker's guts twist. It would save them both a lot of ache, though, wouldn't it? Daniel wouldn't have to deal with the idea that at one point he was in love with someone with an alien pokemon inside of them and Walker wouldn't have to confront the fact that he'd abandoned Daniel rather than trying to talk to him.
Walker bounced their knee and stared vacantly out the window for the rest of the ride to the airport, listening to the radio on their pokegear, then proceeded through ticketing and security in a daze, snapping back only once at their gate. Right, they had to remind Daniel that they were coming.

He switched his pokegear into airplane mode before he shoved it in his pocket and grabbed his suitcase. The line was sparse, but that was unsurprising considering the news about Lyeant's political state. It'd been two years since they'd solved the issue of Team Imum, but still they lacked a solid government and instead they were locked in a civil war, although there weren't any active battlefields. People worried it was only a matter of time, though. They boarded anxiously, wondering not only if Daniel would even text them back, but wondering just what Lyeant looked like now. They tried to not think on it too hard. They would know in a couple of hours anyway, so they settled in their seat and tried to take a nap. They couldn't overthink things while they were asleep, after all.
"Good morning everyone, we have begun our final descent." The announcements woke them up, "Please make sure your tray tables are stowed away and your seats are in their upright and locked positions. The time in Lyeant is now eleven thirty-five a.m. and it is a crisp twenty-six degrees outside." Cold today, but the weather was the last thing on Walker's mind. They stared instead out their window over Lyeant's landscape. They knew it long before they left, but knowing and seeing were two so very different things. Lyeant was scarred, carved up, chewed up and spit back out. It wasn't the Lyeant they knew, but it was what it was. The news over the past couple years had prepared them for some of this, but seeing the destruction made their stomach twist. Had they been in Lyeant for this, would they have been able to help stop it? Could they have done something? And if they could've, if they did, where would they be now? Where would Walker be? Daniel? They watched as the destruction faded to the cityscape of Eirenhyre City. Anxiety welled back up inside of them, spiking when the plane jolted upon landing. They couldn't help but wonder if Daniel even remembered him at all. Their head was filled with questions of where they would go from here, if they went anywhere at all. If Daniel wasn't interested in ever seeing them again, maybe they would just leave. They had little reason otherwise to stay in Lyeant. Perhaps go back to Ho— No, no, they were getting ahead of themselves. Now was not the time to make plans for the worst case scenarios, not when things had barely just begun. There was still hope.
There's still hope. They told themselves that over and over again as they stepped into the terminal. They glanced around, but did not immediately see Daniel. Their heart sank, but they told themselves again and again that he might still be here. Or maybe he intended to come, but forgot. They needed to text him again.
<< Are you here? >>
Oh dear arceus, their hands were shaking. This was ridiculous, they decided. They'd hurtled through space at hundreds of miles per second and here they were shaking over a human arceus damned boy. They'd survived Team Rocket only to become a fumbling mess because said boy might very seriously not remember anything about them. Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

Walker, Deoxys, at first they coexisted within the same body. They juggled two consciousnesses sloppily at first, but quickly getting the hang of it. Things were well. They kept people at a distance with scathing words because they felt safer together than with other people. The exception was Daniel, a kind boy who shared snacks with them and frequently forgot things. Things were well. They were happy with each other and Daniel, but as Daniel's feelings for them grew and Walker grew quieter and quieter, they panicked and fled. Deoxys was unknowingly destroying walker, altering his cells and stealing away his consciousness and while they've been able to stop the process, they don't know how to fix what they've broken. In their despair and search for answers, they spend too long Johto. Only recently have they returned, heart aching for dear familiar Lyeant. They've begun work at as a biologist at a science research facility studying gijinkas specifically. They get along well enough with their coworkers, but have begun to develop a reputation of being spiteful.[break][break]

Data log #71918
We made an incredible discovery today. We made history! New pokemon are being discovered all the time, but never has there been a discovery like this. A meteor crashed to Earth in Sector 9 and two pokemon emerged from it. They're incredible. They can modify their bodies on a cellular level and have demonstrated incredibly psychokinetic abilities. They were intimidated at first, but peacefully came with us to the space center. I think they want to learn about us.[break][break]
We're calling them deoxys.
Data log #71926
Both deoxys are incredibly intelligent. They have rapidly learned to understand common English and while they cannot verbally communicate (we can't even identify a mouth), they are able to communicate via drawn pictures. They are fascinated by everything in the lab. Entity One has taken a particular liking to puzzles. [break][break]
Lab test have shown that their bodily composition is like nothing we've ever observed. They're made of elements we don't even have names for. Without a doubt, they are from outside of our solar system. We don't even know if it's accurate to call them a pokemon, but what else do we call them? Alien just sounds so unfriendly. We've been keeping Professor Oak and Professor Birch informed about our studies. Professor Birch has entered Deoxys into the local pokedex as number 211, while Oak has assigned them the national dex number of 386. The actual entries are still pending as we do more research.
Data log #72174
They've been stolen! We were attacked and they were stolen from us, snatched away by Team Rocket. Arceus only knows what they plan to do with them. I'm scared for them. I'm scared for us. With such powerful pokemon in their hands, who knows what Team Rocket will do. Arceus, let nothing horrible happen. Arceus protect them. [break][break] [break] Everything hurts. They cut away parts of them to study. They subject them through so much pain that for days they can't even form a coherent thought. They force them to do things they don't want to. They make them hurt others and oh, they hate the sounds of pain they make. They try so hard to not think about it at night. They try not to think about anything at night and eventually, they just stop thinking altogether.[break][break]
Two escapes but oh, they leave One behind. One has a hollow ache in their chest, but they don't think about it. Thinking about makes it hurt more. They'll do anything to find them again and despite all the pain Team Rocket has caused them, they say they'll help them find their other half. All they have to do is kill Green. They say that'll provoke Red which will draw Two. That'll bring them home. They could be together again. That's what they said, so they obeyed. They attacked her when she was on Seagallop Ferry, they steal her parents away and beat down her pokemon. So close, almost there, just a little longer and she'll be dead. Ah, but they're interrupted. Red and Blue show up and their pokemon snap at them. They don't like the faces they're making. They hate the tone of their voices. They can't stand it because it makes them ache in a way that the attacks from their pokemon just don't. They can't stand it so they run. They're scared that Team Rocket will be upset. They're scared that they'll hurt them even more. The fear wraps around him like a noose as he flees.[break][break]
Their punishment cuts deep, but the abandonment cuts deeper. They were used, abused, deceived. They had no intention of reuniting them and their other half and that fact made them swell with rage. They weren't going to get away with this. They weren't going to let them. That's what they thought, at least, but then they met Walker.[break][break]
Walker was twenty-one or twenty-two when they met. They were honey eyes on a deceivingly beautiful face. They were a tongue that cut deep when it wanted to, but never did Walker direct its edge to them. They were kind. "Are you okay?" He offered them his mind and body without hesitation. He offered them such safety and warmth without asking for anything more than stories of what they'd seen in their time in space. It was so nice. They felt like they were home again and the lonely ache in their chest eased with Walker's presence.[break][break]
They meet someone. His name is Daniel and he is everything they aren't. He is cheerful and optimistic and kind. He gives them chocolates in a cute little bag. It was Valentine's day, Walker told Deoxys, explaining in detail the significance of chocolate. Neither was sure if it was a gesture of affection or if they simply didn't want the chocolates. They were so good, though. A pity for whoever made them. Daniel tried to talk to them, but they were busy eating and mostly nodded in agreement to whatever he said..[break][break]
The next time, he brought cookies and the time after that, brownies. They were excited to see him again on the bus, excited enough to talk to them first. They were crushed, though. Surely they had the right person. They'd seen him three times already. It was definitely him, but he didn't remember them. That bit into them so sharply and his explanation did dull it, but oh it still hurt. As they grew closer, it became easier to cope with Daniel's anteretrograde amnesia.[break][break]
Their first date was to a gym. It wasn't exactly what one would typically consider romantic, but it was thrilling to see Daniel fight the gym leader. Their chest bubbled with happiness when Daniel and his team defeated the gym leader's last pokemon. The happiness lasts for a while, sticks around like a sickness in their chest, but they don't mind. They don't mind at all. They follow Daniel happily as he clears the next five gyms. Six shiny pins and looking at them and knowing how hard Daniel worked for them and how much he deserved them made their heart flutter.[break][break]
They are cursed, though. Of this they are certain. A bitter realization that nothing they have ever lasts, not even Walker, because his consciousness erodes away the longer they are within him, but by the time they realize this it is too late. Walker cannot exist without them. They cry. For the first time, deoxys cries, shedding tears from eyes that aren't even theirs because they soil everything they touch. They can't do this anymore. They can't even look at Daniel. Their heart aches at the thought of them. They would ruin him, too, surely.[break][break]
They run. They run to Johto. Without goodbye, without last words. They just left and the anger that had laid dormant in them began to boil up again.
BREAKING NEWS
A massive meteor has veered off its expected course and is on a collision course with Earth! Due to the size, large-scale damage is expected. Steven Stone along with scientists at Hoenn's Mossdeep Space Center are working hard to find a way to divert or destroy the meteor before it enters the atmosphere. Citizens are suggested to listen to law enforcement and look out for emergency broadcasts. [break][break] [break]
They felt comfortable. They feel safe inside the meteor. It feels like home. They're lonely without Walker, but it's okay. At least soon they'll be reunited with their other half. They know they'll survive this. Walker won't, but that's okay, isn't it? Surely death is better than the constant daydream he's in now. Death would be a mercy, wouldn't it? Daniel wouldn't survive either, but in time, they would've ruined him. At least like this it was on their own terms. Only they and their other half would survive and they were certain of that. They'd survived harsh solar winds, incredible radiation, and the harsh cold of space. A massive meteor impact would not kill either of them. And if it did, who cared? It wasn't like they had anything left to lose. They would win either way. In death or in the destruction of all those who had dared hurt them. Those who had used them, hurt them, and toyed with them. They would never forgive them. This would be their retribution. Death would be the only way they could atone. They would crash this meteor into the Earth and they would be free. They would seek out a different planet with different species. One so much kinder. One that wouldn't soil every good thing they had.[break][break]
Or so had been the plan, but like everything so far, it was ruined. Everything had exploded, green filling their vision and an angry cry, muffled in the thinness of the mesosphere. In their anger, they fought, but it wasn't enough. They weren't strong enough and Rayquaza cracked their core and left them to die in space. How cruel. Everything on this planet was so, so cruel.[break][break]
They could do nothing as Earth's gravity pulled them in and they tore through the atmosphere. They spent days in their delta shield, hiding away from everything that moved, before making their way back to Johto, back to Walker. They didn't know what else to do or where else to go in their misery. Walker was home. Walker would welcome them with what was left of himself. Walker would forgive them and tell them that it was okay. It was going to be okay.[break][break]
Ah, it was so warm with Walker. [break][break]
They remained in Johto for two years where they studied biology, chemistry, and astronomy, before moving back to Hoenn. They contact Professor Cozmo again and explain the situation. Cozmo puts them into contact with another scientist who suggests that the consciousness is entirely physical and deoxys' presence in Walker's body was altering his body and thus his consciousness. If Deoxys could figure out its root, they could maintain it. For another two years they stayed there and studied, trying to find a way to salvage Walker.[break][break]
They remembered Daniel. Four years had gone and they haven't even spoken to him once. They heard that he became champion. They were happy for him, but their chest still ached at the thought of him. They worried throughout the Imum conflict, but still they couldn't work themselves up to calling him or even texting him. Just how long were they going to avoid him? They'd been away doing research, sure, they could give him that excuse, but it wasn't like what they were doing couldn't be done in Lyeant.[break][break]
