Quiet and generally keeping to themselves, Walker reveals a sharp tongue to those new folks who so much as take a wrong step. They're never quite seems happy to do much of anything, a thick begrudging air always floating around them, with only a few exceptions. They tend to be sharp with reporters, who frequently call them a terrible trainer and try to pry into their personal life due to their relationship with Daniel Parks. They're quick to put them down with sharp edged smiles and venom laced words.

He tells you his story without words, his life story as open to you now as your own memories are. You simply know. You simply remember. They aren't your memories, but you have them nonetheless. Walker begins as Walker. A small boy in Sandgem Town, Sinnoh, he grows up surrounded by pokemon. He spends his free time in Professor Rowan's lab, pretending to understand the books he's pulled from the shelves and asking countless questions of the professor. He grows to love pokemon with an insatiable desire for progress. Always going forward, but he's stuck in this town, barred in by the tall grass and no friends with an appetite for travel.[break][break]
"I want to leave this town. I want to travel and see more. Lend me a pokemon so I can learn more." He asks and Professor Rowan gives. A chimchar, a mere child, but to Walker they are like gold in his hands. He smiles in a way the professor hasn't seen in years and then he is off, eager and hungry for more. Always, always, more.[break][break]
[break]
One, two, three. And soon, eight. With hard work to makeup for his few pokemon, Walker defeats all eight gyms of the Sinnoh region. He has his badges pinned to his bag for all to see, so happy in how far he's come and how much he's learned. He marches through Victory Road with his meager team, but he collapses, falters, fails before he can reach the end. For days, headaches have plagued him. His heart quivered and his lungs struggled to keep breath. Discoloured marks dotted his skin, but he'd pushed forward until he couldn't anymore.[break][break]
"It's terminal." Walker looks up at the doctor from his hospital bed. He can't move, not really. Every breath feels like a weight rests on his chest. He can barely feel his heart beat in his chest. "There's no treatment. It's destroying your DNA and disrupting cellular reproduction. As time passes, cells die and new ones are made to replace them, but your replacements are wrong and it's killing you. Your organs will fail, but we'll do everything we can to keep you comfortable. So just—"[break][break]
"No." [break][break]
"What?"[break][break]
"I won't sit here and wait for death." He snarls as he, with great effort, sits up, "I'm not going to die laying down in a hospital just waiting. I won't. I won't." And they can't keep you here, so you go, heavy bodied, but with your pokemon at your side. You'd planned to travel other regions after challenging the Elite Four, but you can't battle them now. So, why not travel now?[break][break]
He goes to Hoenn. He wants to see and travel across a region with so much water. He wants to spend the last of his life still traveling and still learning, but it seems that Arceus demands he suffer.
"This is an emergency broadcast! A large meteor is on a collision course and is expected to hit the Hoenn region directly in two days. Please evacuate the region. Emergency transport has been arranged at all sea and water ports. Citizens who can travel air or sea with their pokemon can do so across borders without visas or permits in order to seek refuge elsewhere. This is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill."
[break][break]
[break]
Walker does not evacuate. He decides that he will die anyway, so why not die from the impact of a massive meteor? That would be interesting, wouldn't it? He has lived four years since he was diagnosed with this wretched disease and he has given up. So he watches as death approaches as a blazing fire growing bigger with every heartbeat. But then, a green bolt goes to meet it. A cry echoes across the sky, thunders in his chest and rattles his bones and he watches in stunned silence as the meteor is shattered and its pieces fall down to the earth. In awe, he thinks of how beautiful it is and he wonders, just what is that green beast in the sky? A god? And what is that thing that it fights so violently? It falls, whatever it is, to the ground and he feels sad for that pitiful thing in the meteor. How lonely it must have been, trapped in that rock, only to be broken free and immediately attacked. So, slowly he walks towards that thing that fell from the sky.[break][break]
The air smells of metal and ozone, of burnt wood and dirt. Before him in an area cleared by impact, a thing struggles. It fights, writhing in pain and clawing at the dirt trying to stand again. He stares bewildered, fascinated in its struggle, and then he steps forward. Suddenly, as it notices him, there's a splitting pressure in his head and eyes burning with pain and wrath bore into him. It lasts only for a moment before the thing collapses back into the dirt. Walker takes a moment to recover, but then he steps forward again. The pressure returns, but it's weaker now. "I'm not going to hurt you." He says almost breathlessly, gripping chest as his heart beats unevenly in his chest, "I'm going to try to help you." It seems to understand and the pressure vanishes and does not return, even as he crouches next to the creature. He can see a crack in the crystalline sphere embedded in its chest, so he sprays a potion directly onto it. The cracks mend only a fraction before deepening and fracturing again. The creature cries out in agony. So he sprays another and then another, one after another, hoping to mend the damage before it can break again, but it's not enough. It weeps, he thinks, from anger more than pain as the core fractures again. And then, it speaks.[break][break]
Everything hurts. They cut away parts of you, take them away, then return for more. You can't think, pain clouding everything and reducing you to something just clinging to survival. You can't fight them, not anymore. It all just hurts too much. They make you hurt others just to ease your own pain and you remember Doctor Cozmo telling you that things like this are wrong. Breaking things like this is wrong. You can't bring yourself to feel anything but exhausted. If it means an ease to the agony they put you through, if it means easing the pain of your other half, you'll kill all they want. [break][break]
Ah, you want to see them, your other half. A single cell virus in space, mutated by radiation, then split into two. You are not complete without the other you. Maybe, if you're good, if you do everything these people want, they'll cut this space between the two of you. If it means being together again, you'll do anything.[break][break]
You weep. You mourn and you anger, thrashing against your restraints and your prison keepers. You are alone! All alone! Where did they go? Your other half, why did they leave? Come back, come back! Don't leave me alone here! You scream into the air, pleading them back, but they don't come, and for the first time you are alone and you think you'd rather die.[break][break]
"You miss them, right?" You don't answer, black eyes staring hatefully at the man in front of you. He commands authority over all around you, commands it over you. You smiles at your silence and it makes you feel sick. "Let's make a deal, okay, Number One. Do this and Two will come back. You can be together again." You strain against your binds. Two will return? You'll be together again? Your desperation to reconnect with your other half kills the anger that has stewed in your soul for how they abandoned you, and without hesitation you agree to Giovanni's demands. Anything, you'll do it. Whatever he wants, as long as you can see them again.[break][break]
Kill Blue. Simple. You've done it before. Choked the life from their fragile, pulsing bodies. This time, you'll be able to do it without repercussion. You can do whatever you want now with no one here to hold your leash. You can escape. Fly back into the sky and never return. You consider it, but always the empty ache in your chest reminds you of Two. You can't do it. Maybe they could leave you behind, but you can't leave them. So, you move upon the girl. Her pokemon attack blind, unable to see you, and so they are easy to deal with. You knock them aside, eager to get this over with, eager to see your other half again. You wrap around her throat, squeeze tight, and she struggles against you, but she weakens. Inevitably, they always weaken. And then people are coming, shouting, screaming, with pokemon at the ready, and you panic. You make a decision in a split second and then you and Blue's parents are gone.[break][break]
You worry and you fear. You could not even complete such a simple objective. You should have attacked her properly. Eviscerated her, cut her to pieces in an instant. You have her parents, unconscious now in your grasp, but what will he do to you now? You're scared, but you hold onto the hope that you will see Two again. You hope. You hope—
Agony paralyzes you. "How disappointing." Giovanni looks at you, but you look only at the beedrill whose stinger crushes against your core. Shattered, broken, pieces held in place only by the sheer force of your will. "I have no use for incompetent pokemon. I only need one of you, anyway." He gestures and the beedrill retracts its stinger and you fall to the ground. He leaves, expecting you to die of your injuries, but even hurt as you are, it's not enough. Slowly, you repair within the safety of your delta shield. The pieces are put back together, cracks mended, and after a time you are whole again.[break][break]
And you are angry.[break][break]
[break]
This feels like home. You were here like this once before, so long ago. Once, it was just you and your other hurtling alone through space. You had no idea if anyone or anything else like you existed. Did anything else in existence think? Did anything else feel? For so long it was empty planets, their satellites, and stars. And then you and your exact other half. This was fine. You weren't lonely because you didn't have a concept of loneliness. You weren't bored, because you did not know you were supposed to be. Things were simple. You miss it, mourn its loss, as you curl tight inside your tomb of rock. It was your idea to stop at this wretched planet instead of moving on. Everything that's happened to you both is your fault. This horrible planet with its horrible people who do nothing but maim and exploit. You'll destroy it all, bit by bit, starting with where this hurt began. You'll destroy it all, because in the end you know that Two will survive it and you'll reunite and then things can go back to the way they were. You won't be lonely anymore. It won't hurt anymore. [break][break]
You hear a cry. It shakes the meteor you guide from inside and then suddenly it's all gone, the weapon you pulled all the way from the asteroid belt. You scream. Who stops you? Who denies you your justice? A green dragon is before you, two mere children upon its back, and they attack without mercy, without concern, heartless beasts they are! They break your core, shatter you to pieces, and leave you to rot, just as Giovanni did. You hate them, these children. You hate them, these humans. Your thoughts static out with the breaking of your crystalline brain as you fall to the earth. Still, even forced to the ground, you fight. You claw at the dirt, try to stand, try to get back up to the sky because you don't want to die here, not on this fucking rock. Anywhere else but here. You don't want to die here![break][break]
Someone is here. You don't know who, but they step closer and closer, so you apply pressure to the mind. Fill his head with garbage signals until it buzzes so much it hurts. Leave, don't come close! But they do. "I'm not going to hurt you." His heart flutters uncertainly in his chest and his lungs struggle for breath, but still he comes closer, "I'm going to try and help you." Help? When was the last time anyone tried to help you? You want to sneer at him, lash out and chase him away. What can a mere human do for you except hurt you more? But you are exhausted. You cannot stand and can barely move, so fine, come forward, you'll allow him to assist only because you can no longer resist. He sits (falls) at your side. He sprays (hands shaking) potion after potion, but it's not enough and what heals only cracks again, spreading more each time.[break][break]
"Help me."[break][break]
"There's nothing more I can do."[break][break]
"You're dying. I can help you. Help me."[break][break]
"Tell me what to do."[break][break]
You touch him and where you touch you meld together and the discoloration of his skin, the dying blue-grey as his body slowly suffocates, disappears. You push farther and farther, repair more and more, and he stares dumbfounded. "Help me." You beg, "Don't let me die. Help me." And he stares at you, honey eyes wide with a mix of horror and fascination, but he doesn't rip away from you, doesn't thrash or scream or panic.
"After this, will I still be me?" He asks and sounds almost dazed.
"I don't know." You don't. Consciousness is not a concept you understand. You don't know if there is such thing as a soul or if consciousness is just the sum of all the electric pulses firing through the brain. But neither does he and you watch as he considers it. He thinks of how he might lose himself, replaced entirely by you and he thinks of what will happen if he doesn't do this. How will he die? Will his heart stop in his sleep? Will he suffocate to death? Will his brain be alive enough to even experience his own end? At the end of it all, though, he wants more. To see more, experience more, be more. More, more, always more. [break][break]
"Okay, I'll help you."[break][break]
[break]
"Excuse me, what bus is this?" Sharp honeyed eyes dig into the black haired man.[break][break]
"It's the northbound M14." You slowly say with disinterest, but he smiles brightly and thanks you. You watch for a second, then turn your attention back out the window. You halfheartedly count the stops to your destination, but your mind mostly wanders aimlessly. You think of what you ate for lunch, then of the book you'd read last night, then you think of a hypothetical situation in which this bus crashes and you die.[break][break]
"Excuse me, sir, is this the M16?" You turn back and blink, then scowl at the man.[break][break]
"Yes. I just told you it was." And he seems surprised, then confused, then apologetic all in a matter of seconds.[break][break]
"I'm sorry, I have anterograde amnesia. I can't—"[break][break] He begins, but you cut him off.[break][break]
"I know what it means." You're interested now in this man. You studied anterograde amnesia briefly in your time pursuing a degree in medical biology, but you'd never interacted with anyone who suffered from it. "I'm Walker. What stop are you getting off at?" He shuffles through some notecards, then looks back up at you.[break][break]
"Twenty-second street and Parkhurst. And my name's Daniel, but everyone calls me Danny."[break][break]
"Hey Danny." He looks at you, "This is twenty-second and Parkhurst." And recognition flashes across his face as he bolts up from his seat, quickly gathering his things. You can't help but laugh. He thanks you and when he forgets your name, you remind him. You frequently see each other on the bus but while you remember him, he never remembers you, but that's fine. You enjoy how bright he shines nonetheless.[break][break]
[break]
"Walker?" He looks like he's fighting through a dream, struggling to hold onto its memory while it desperately tries to flee. You stare shocked, then smile as he nervously takes a seat next to you as he's done for so many days now. [break][break]
"Good morning, Danny." And he lights up like the sun, so happy to have remembered and to have done so correctly. During your commute he holds onto conversation better, forgetting still but doing so less often and you marvel at it, at the progress, and you wonder if maybe he'll be able to make a recovery. You don't mention it, though. You don't want to get his hopes up.[break][break]
"Walker,I'm going to challenge the gyms." He says suddenly, "Why don't you come fight them with me?"[break][break]
"No, I'm not much of a fighter," His face drops and you are quick to smile, "But I'll come cheer you on." And he brightens back up, shining like the sun.[break][break]
Despite his condition, despite how he constantly forgets where he is and what he is doing, Danny excels at pokemon battles. He forgets, you're sure, because you see his eyes unfocus then refocus, how he pauses sometimes before he takes his moves. You're not sure if he sees the field and remembers of if his intuition is simply that sharp, but he tears through his enemies regardless. Gym after gym, he collects the badges meticulously and you are so genuinely happy for him. You watch him and cheer for him. You're there for him every step of the way—[break][break]
( That's what you'd like to say. )[break][break]
[break]
You've lied to him. This whole time, you've lied. This face isn't yours. This voice isn't yours. He doesn't even know your name. And yet you see how he changes around you and it scares you. It's only a matter of time. So, what will he do when he finds out the truth?[break][break]
( He'll leave. He'll shout and scream because you lied to him, you betrayed him, and he will leave you behind and you'll be all alone again. )[break][break]
"I'm going to Johto."[break][break]
"Why?"[break][break]
You don't reply.[break][break]
[break]
"Hey, Walker, come check this out." Clara gestures you over excitedly the moment she notices you passing her office. [break][break]
"I'm on break." You say as you make your tea, but she insists. She has a television mounted on the wall. It's supposed to be used to display large detailed microscopic images or large amounts of data, but it's more used to watch the news. With a sigh, you walk in to watch the broadcast with her. [break][break]
"We're coming to you live from the Lyeant Pokemon League where a man challenges the Elite Four. His name is—" You stare. You ache. Your breath hitches in your throat and the cup in your hands drops to the floor and shatters.[break][break]
"Shit— Walker, are you okay?" You only distantly hear her, "Walker? Walker, are you crying?" Slowly, you look at her and then you touch your face, cheeks wet with tears. Have you ever cried before? Ah, your chest throbs. You turn and again you run away.[break][break]
( You are so very good at running away. )[break][break]
It hits you like a train, this guilt. Washes over you like the floodwaters and pulls you under. You lock yourself in the dark of your lab and cover your face as you wrestle with these feelings and this body. What a horrible feeling, this grief. How lonely this existence is. How long has there been this vacancy in your chest? How long has this wound festered and spread? You left him. Out of fear, you fled with only a sudden announcement and no explanation. You should've stayed. You should've been there at his side! You should've— [break][break]
You need to go back.

Once, Walker was human. He traveled Sinnoh, battling gym after gym until he beat them all, challenged the Elite Four, lost, and moved to travel different regions to strengthen his team. In Johto, they were diagnosed with a terminal illness with no known cure that was causing rapid detrimental mutations to his DNA that resulted in faulty cell reproduction. It was to kill him quickly, but painfully. They encountered Deoxys Entity One after they failed to use a meteor to cause destruction upon the Earth and ideally kill themselves as well. They merged in a symbiotic relationship. Walker gave Deoxys his body as a medium for them to heal in while Deoxys, in return, repaired the rampant DNA damage within Walker's body, although Deoxys was unable to stop the root problem and must constantly repair his DNA. Deoxys is the dominant personality whereas Walker's consciousness chooses to remain dormant until his condition can be properly treated and they can separate again.
[break][break]
Walker is cold and generally unfriendly. They're seen largely as the champion's shadow, a blight upon his reputation. Most dislike him by reputation alone and those who don't tend to dislike him for his prickly attitude. So cruelly hurt by human hands, they keep people at a distance. They are more likely to be friendlier with gijinkas. They are still largely distrusting of others and it takes great dedication and honesty to get close to Walker.
Despite his abrasive and harsh atitude, Walker would not say that they particularly hate many people. They see the average person with indifference, but they do hold a special loathing for the various teams of the world, most notably Team Rocket, who captured and abused them.
Taken, but plots still remain!
see me fall down - let me die here slowly. nothing goes right, not a trace of honesty. i'm to blame, so i'll remain. black, white; day, night; it's all the same. see is run down - cut away, no worries. say no more. i can surely say that i've had enough. i can't remember - that very day, that very day changed me. happiness died like a light i carried. i'll sleep tonight and hope to finally leave a world which i don't believe, a life which i don't need, and then i'll finally be free.

FRIENDS OF THE CHAMPION
Walker didn't exactly treat Danny right and while Danny might not remember, his friends probably do. While some resent Walker, others are grateful to have them back. A stabilizing stone in Danny's hectic life of memories made and rapidly destroyed. They're one of the few things Danny consistently remembers and that's good, right?

>>> HATESHIP
Despite his abrasive and harsh atitude, Walker would not say that they particularly hate many people. They see the average person with indifference, but they do hold a special loathing for the various teams of the world, most notably Team Rocket, who captured and abused them.
TEAMS
Walker, with no real exception, hates all teams. Rocket, Plasma, Magma, Imum. They hate the ideologies they stand for, the needless destruction they've consistently brought about, the pain and suffering, and the death under the name of the "greater good". They will treat members of various teams, active or not, harshly, but with Team Rocket members, they will react violently, unable to forgive anyone involved in all they went through.[break][break]
FRIEND'S OF THE CHAMPION
Walker didn't exactly treat Danny right and while Danny might not remember, Danny's other friends probably do. They remember how Danny felt and how Walker left without a farewell, a note, an apology, nothing, only to return years later and try to pickup where they left off. Some of them surely don't like Walker because of this, maybe believing him to be taking advantage of Danny. Might be an interesting dynamic to explore.

Taken, but plots still remain!
Ex's
Walker, before Deoxys, had partners in the past, although most were in Sinnoh. Breakups may have been neat or messy, but it would be interesting for them to cross paths again and see Walker as a vastly changed person due to the presence of Deoxys.
