he came to decision that he should travel the world and prioritize seeing as much of every region as possible as opposed to collecting gym badges or battling. although he was anything but a teacher, the epithet of ''great sage'' stuck with him throughout his adventures. he never stayed in one place long, but be it positive or negative, he always did enough to make a lasting impression in the villages and cities he visited. he is a man capable of great empathy, but his own cynicism causes him to constantly second guess humans and their intentions. he believes pokemon, to be more straightforward and honest, often going out of his way to thwart the schemes of those who would exploit them for their own gain.
