TWO YEARS AGO, A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION GOING BY THE NAME TEAM IMUM WRECKED CHAOS ACROSS THE LAND, DAMAGING CITIES AND KILLING THOUSANDS OF CITIZENS. While Imum itself has long since been disbanded, however, the region remains broken: entire towns have been laid to waste and the Association struggles to find homes for those who were lucky enough to survive the attempted genocide. Reconstruction trudges on as usual... but with three factions - the Association, the corporations, and the people - each wishing to take the rebuilding of an entire region down opposite paths, how long will it be before Lyeant's last leg gives out permanently?

Care to hear about our lord and savior Operation: Mindcrime? In all seriousness: Hello, hello! I'm Pharaoh Leap – or just Leap – local head admin and rock opera enthusiast. On the rare chance you catch me in a time when I'm not bawling about characters entirely written into song, you may see me actually doing work around the site, like skinning, making too many characters, and encouraging others to also make too many characters. I only know how to write angst, and in no fewer than six trillion words an app or post, so if you like dying while reading like I like dying while writing, I'm the girl for you. ;o
Howdy guys! The names Astro and I am your resident Brit & Red muse (you'll honestly see me more on him than any of my other characters). I'm a moderator and my main job is to make sure everything is running smoothly so the Admins can focus on other things, you'll often see me within the apps and shops, etc when I'm not on Red. What can I say about myself? Apart from being a Red fanboy I like music and games and yaoi huehue, I honestly never now what to put into these sort of things but ohwell, I'm more of a "ask me and I'll tell" sorta guy. Anyway, from my personally I hope that you enjoy the site and what we produce here but also if you're new, please look around and if you like what you see please consider joining for rad plots that everyone gives! :D
Hey there~ Nano over here! I uh.. Wait, I'm doing this right, right? Bleh. So I'm a moderator over here - fun, fun - who kind of just.. Keeps an eye on everyone. You know, the whole app thing and what not. Uh.. Lets see.. When I'm not doing school work (because I may or may not be trying to be a good student) I'm probably storming up new ideas like events and etc. Or plots. Plots are always good, too. As you can see, I uh.. Have the horrible habit of making way too many characters. I swear, I was tempted with plots, ships and angst. It's like, the holy trinity. Uh.. What else is there about me? Oh, right! Please excuse my obnoxiousness. I'm just really loud in general so don't be surprised if I start screaming as loudly as I can caps. So yeah. Nice meeting you!

I know.”[break][break]
With those words, the tail end of an ongoing conversation drew to a gradual end; both participants beginning to move through the main lobby of a particular daycare. Either one of them were younger looking men; the first with voids of azure, as well as a pair of rather small, yet still profound wings of a deepened, abyssal hue; and the other held both hair and eyes of a crimson hue, as well as a pair of ears and a tail. While their words brought the current conversation to a close, the two of them each stood up and strayed away from several, smaller Pokemon that they had each been tending to; standing at relatively equal height to one another - which, in itself, would be rather surprising to look at due to their reasonably taller forms - but the former of the pair appeared to be at least a couple of years younger than the latter. ...Appeared, being the key word.[break][break]

Nevertheless, the fact of the matter was the two were related. Albeit...the age gap was probably by a century or two. Maybe a few. Jae Hyun honestly lost count by that point, but… Hey. He found one of several people that he was technically, technically related to in the grand scheme of things in this small little world. Go figure.[break][break]
He exchanged a few more words with the other as he saw him off; unminding of the fact that a tiny little Axew climbed up along his leg and back to slouch over his shoulder while he waved his distant relative off.[break][break]

set my heart afire
A few blocks down the road, a certain Gym Leader was actually having a good day for once. She'd managed to wake up early, get dressed way ahead of schedule, and she didn't have to listen to anyone drone on and on in one meeting or another, so she had more time than usual to put on one of her random performances in Eirenhyre before making the walk to Veherna. Travelling was sort of a pastime for her now, and what with the remarkable speed she could do so it was easy enough to just pop between cities, say hi to people, and then bunker down in one of her too-many apartments. Though she guessed that was probably because Moxie made for a surprisingly fast land vehicle. The apartments, well... being a celebrity has its perks.
One of which came into view a few minutes later. There was a bit of a bounce in her step due to how well it had been going, and with her Omanyte seated firmly on her shoulder. Omni was even catching a bit of the joy too, which considering how contagious Rebecca's moods tended to be, it made sense. Though really what she was most looking forward to was coming up almost immediately. There was a certain employee at the daycare here she'd been watching rather keenly for some time. He was a bit rough, sure, but she could wager a few guesses as to why that was. Unfortunately, being shoved away wasn't her strong suit, and from what she'd seen of this man's previous interactions- as well as the indifferent, almost mocking stare he gave her every time she walked in- she could wager a fair bet that if anything were to bring in the rain, he'd be the one to do it.
Can't say I particularly mind that notion, she thought. Admiration didn't exactly cut it, though endearment was too strong a word. She was very appreciative of his company, and wanted to get to know him a tad better. Maybe brighten his day up a bit and make it so he wasn't so grumpy all the damn time. Hell, she was fairly certain that the only highlight his day had was when she brought Omni in. If anything, he seemed to enjoy her favorite creature on the planet.
Have to admit, it's a welcome contrast to the usual scenario, she stated silently. The usual situation was, of course, her being the object of all the affection. As stated before, being a celebrity had perks... but also downsides. Being a Gym Leader on top of that had a tendency to put her a bit high on the Name Drop list, probably only under the Elite Four members and the Champion themselves.
The bell above the door to the daycare rang as Rebecca entered, Omni emitting a happy chirp as Jae came into view moments later. "Not interrupting anything important, am I?" she asked curiously. She's seen the other male a few times, though she didn't know him well enough for a name to stick. Nevertheless she made the inquisition with a small wave, her Omanyte already making its way down her arm in the direction of its usual caretaker.

[attr="class","mouths1"]Upon hearing and seeing the chimes rustle in while accompanying the motion of the door, both men glanced up and towards its general direction; their conversation put on temporary hold once more as they each diverted their respective attentions towards the newcomer. Within the case of the azure eyed one, whatever faint smiles and sarcastic tones that he had were quick to fade away upon seeing the newest customer; on the other hand, the crimson haired boy himself merely stared at the young woman while his lips tugged themselves into a small and vague smirk in both snark and amusement alike- most likely at his relative’s expense. A faint snicker escaped his lips as he turned his head and nudged the legendary gijinka towards his flank; earning a disgruntled noise from him as he began to address him and hold an ongoing talk with him in Korean.[break][break]
”Yo. Old geezer.”[break] ”Dae, what did I say about not making your students wait?”[break] ”Yeah, yeah. I know. Whatever. Just wanna say something before I go, though.”[break] ”...And what might that be?”[break] ”This may be a daycare, but if you have too much fun, I better not come back to find a kid--”[break]
Although it had more or less seconds away from being officially ended, the remark that the crimson eyed boy attempted to speak would have never been finished; only interrupted by a spontaneous, yet gentle enough shock cast by the dragon himself to do nothing more than rudely throw him off guard with a sharp yelp. In response to the action, the Incineroar gijinka himself merely cast a glare - though a slightly amused one, at that - towards his elder relative one last time before giving her a smug smirk and shrugging it off. Rather than speaking a few more words, he simply reached out and hooked his hand around after compressing it into a loose fist; softly yet swiftly slugging the man over his free and unoccupied shoulder before turning heel and beginning to walk out. Of course, he acknowledged the newcomer while he passed her, but for the most part, he simply left the response to the inquiry that she posed up to the draconian man to formulate.[break][break]
Throughout the time that he was taking his leave, Jae Hyun himself took care to peer after his younger kin while he took his stride away; only allowing his gaze to stray away once he passed by the front doors and windows and down the street for sake of relocating to the dance studio that he worked at. Once he was out of sight, he inhaled deeply and held the taken breath within his lungs for several moments; only exhaling outwards - and within a silent, yet heavy manner all the same - after clearing his own thoughts. His head turned to finally and formally acknowledged the person that walked through the very same door that his however-many-greats-grandson exited out of just moments ago; eyeing her for several moments before he slowly and reluctantly began to make his way over to her.[break][break]
”...Nothing more than a family interaction,” he mused rather dryly; his wings twitching as his gaze shifted from the girl herself and towards the creature resting upon her own shoulder. Within an absentminded manner, he lifted one of his hands to gently pet the head of his Axew - who seemed to be waving over towards the Omanyte while still hanging over his own human’s shoulder - while eyeing the shelled Pokemon himself. ”...So I take it that it’s already that time for you to drop him off again?”

Rebecca nodded, absently reaching a hand up to give Omni more surface to crawl on as he got to her wrist. She had her right arm held parallel to the ground as a result, the small Pokemon crawling over onto her left hand before she turned the appendage to give a smirk and a knowing gaze to the shelled creature before turning Omni back towards Jae. "I probably couldn't keep this little guy away from here for too long even if I wanted to. I daresay you have a fan," she make the statement with the same trademark smirk, her eyes glinting slightly as she gazed at Jae. She smiled at Jae's Axew for a moment before turning her attention back to the Gijinka himself.
"So are you still set on the whole 'all business' shtick or am I eventually going to get you to be a little less thorny?" Her words weren't exactly sweet, but there was a bit of an affectionate overtone to them nonetheless. She'd tried talking to Jae on multiple occasions already, though they mostly ended in her stopping midway through a sentence due to a casted glare or some other negative reaction. In fact, she vaguely remembered almost leaving this place in tears one afternoon. Gods that day had just been awful, a complete opposite to the day she'd had today. Truth be told, she still expected a thorny look or disinterested insult. Every once in a while she could've sworn she was coming here out of enjoyment of the abuse, but deep down she knew that was little more than a bullshit excuse to help her deal with it.
"Cause I'm honestly starting to get a bit too used to this routine. I come in, you glare, I hand Omni to you, you glare, then give Omni a look that isn't] a glare. I mention it, and you glare. I'd like to see just a little bit of friendly emotion from you one of these times." Once again, she expected the routine to continue. She says or does something: glare. Same response, though usually with the variance of a half-hidden insult here or there depending on what it was she'd said. In fact, she wouldn't be particularly surprised if he shot at her with thorns and nails this time too, though while she was anticipating it she couldn't exactly say that meant it would hurt any less when it actually happened. And that was when, not if.
She'd dropped Omni off enough times to know that Jae was essentially salt incarnate.

[attr="class","mouths1"]In response to her initial statements and remarks of joking intent, the neighboring gijinka himself merely maintained his constant glare of that same, deadpanned disinterest; nothing more than a vague and quiet grumble and murmur of passive responses meeting her own, proposed sentences. Albeit, it wasn’t quite directed to her for the moment, so that showed a subtle degree of progress as it was; however, the fact of the matter was that he still upheld the common demeanor that he often displayed whenever she specifically took care to drop by- and truth be told, one of the main reasons that he prevented himself from openly and begrudgingly sending her off as strongly as he would have preferred was simply the fact that his manager would likely have less than fond and nicer things to say in response to his own misconducts. While he himself may have been Zekrom within all of his glory, he still agreed to living a civil and generally righteous lifestyle within the moment that he chose to take up another body for his own host- and he intended to stay true to that personal vow under any and all circumstances if he could help it.[break][break]
...Of course, he poked a few loopholes in his own loophole.[break] Specific holes that still enabled him to freely and shamelessly speak his mind in the face of various matters.[break][break]
Within most scenarios, his bitterness admittedly surfaced- though for the most part, he could’ve cared less for such a fact. Now, did he feel bad whenever he called others out? ...No, for the most part, but hey- sometimes he did. ...Just...a tiny bit. Very tiny. Microscopic, but the point was that it was still there sometimes. ...It just took really specific circumstances and people to pull that guilt out.[break][break]
Unfortunately, this girl currently wasn’t one of those few people.[break][break]
”...A fan…” he mused lowly after a reasonable while, quirking his lip before sighing. ”...Seeing as he can’t really talk to begin with, I guess I could be tolerant of that,” he went on, shrugging. While still giving his tiny dragon varied and continuous degrees of affection in the form of head pats, he used his remaining hand to gently stroke the Omanyte’s shell. ”...But in any case, you’d have guessed right. I’m here to do my job. Nothing more. ...And I’ve told you time and time again that I’m not the slightest bit interested in whatever advances you have to try, so you’re really just wasting your time.”[break][break]
A pause was taken following those last few words as Jae Hyun took care to lower both of his hands; his form in general following suit as he crouched down towards the floor. He gently plucked Dravix off of his shoulder and set him down on the ground; watching as the Axew hopped around for several places before waddling off to join a few other Pokemon that were wandering about. He watched after him before sighing and peering back up at the girl and her own creature companion. ”...I can’t stop you if you’re still gonna try, much to my chagrin, but… Again. I’m telling you. If you do try, you’re not gonna get a different answer or response from me.”

She shrugged. She could already hear the storm rolling in.
"True, but you know for a fact that isn't going to stop me from trying~," she said, the happy tone in her voice only slightly less prominent. Jae's words were as sharp as ever, though if she was one to give up the moment something turned painful then she would've made for a very piss poor Gym Leader indeed. "...And you can't be a cactus forever. Eventually some of those spikes have to come off, and I'll be happy to fill the empty space." She wondered for only a moment why she called him a cactus, and then instantly remembered.
It's cause he was thorny, unpleasant piece of shit.
The thought was far more aggressive than she'd intended, but in all fairness that is indeed what he was. Cold, uncaring, and a blatant asshole that could rival the best of them. Hell, she could wager a fair bet that Jae would've given her last boyfriend a damn good run for his money, if not send the cheating bastard home in tears with his tail between his legs. The thoughts in itself was a fun one, and the clouds stopped their progress. She looked over as Omni made a chirping noise, and she smiled as she extended her left arm out a bit more. The small creature, of course, took this as ample opportunity to jump the gap twixt Rebecca's hand and Jae Hyun's arm, only barely managing to securely stick to the legendary before Omni began his slow climb up to the top of Jae's shoulder. It was the single most adorable thing Rebecca had ever seen, and she never got tired of witnessing it.
Granted, she had always hoped that Omni would find some way to make it significantly less dangerous, but that little one was about as reckless as they came. She sighed as she let her arm drop down, turning her gaze from Omni over to Jae. "I'm going to assume by 'advances' you meant 'any attempt to foster more cordial relations'. Meaning any offers of my buying you coffee or something are probably going to be rather harshly turned down, if not flat out ignored." She shook her head. "Honestly. I don't know who the hell hurt you bad enough to make you this unwilling to let someone try to be friendly with you, but I'd personally like to ask them what in the hell they were thinking."

[attr="class","mouths1"]Upon hearing the initial responses posed before him, Jae Hyun narrowed his eyes and inhaled deeply; keeping the taken breath within his lungs for several moments before shaking his head and exhaling it outward within a deeper, heavier, and slower manner all the same as he kept that common, unreadable glare that he constantly wore upon the younger woman neighboring him. ”...The thought of that alone is more than enough to make me cringe,” he said bluntly, shaking his head while sighing and instead shifting his attention to the Omanyte as it crawled its way further down its trainer’s arm. The man blinked quietly while watching it throughout its gradual venture downwards. ”And for the record, I know pretty well enough that I’m a prick, but I feel like there could be a better term than a cactus. Or...whatever else along those lines,” he went on. ”...Maybe a fort. Or a castle.”[break][break]
...Because as grand, cold, and mighty a castle or fort may come off to be, it could still easily crumble and give in to certain things when it’s beaten or weathered down long enough.[break][break]
A castle… There were definitely better things to call him, but truth be told, he did feel as if a castle or a well built fort matched up to him much better- especially given the fact that both structures were equally as solid and sturdy as his own mentality, even through thick and thin, and even throughout the course of events that had occurred throughout his life thus far. Yet...in the event that he met the correct people, or witnessed the correct types of events, those walls of his could easily - if not briefly - be broken down to reveal something more than that stoic and generally cold and brash demeanor of his. In the face of several in the past did this very demeanor fade away to give way to one that was more welcoming and perhaps even openly caring. Towards some, more than his blunt and uncaring nature could be shown; instead replaced with some sort of kindness. ...So far, no other human or gijinka had truthfully achieved such a thing from him for a while.[break][break]
...So he had to make do with settling for doing so with other Pokemon for the meantime.[break][break]
So, that general facade had been softly and vaguely broken as he watched the Omanyte venture further and further down the other’s arm; navy voids of his faintly breaking from their common, narrowed glares for sake of widening in a small degree of surprise and concern as the shelled creature quite literally hopped between the gap between the two of them. Out of pure instinct, he shifted a little bit and immediately stepped a little bit closer while holding his hand beneath the place where he thought that Omni was going to land as a sort of fallback in the event that he fell anyways- but once he saw that the creature managed to secure himself, Jae breathed another, softer sigh before relaxing a little bit. He watched as the Pokemon crawled its way up and towards his shoulder, and once he arrived, the legendary gave the tiniest smile while gently stroking its shell again.[break][break]
That smile, however, was short lived as he took the girl’s words into a bit more consideration. His eyes remained upon Omni’s form for a few more moments; the smile wavering before fading away and into that stoic expression yet again as he peered over at her from the corner of his eye- but even then, he didn’t quite stop himself from petting the fossil Pokemon’s shell just yet. ”...It isn’t so much that anyone hurt me. If anything, it’s more of the fact that most of the humans - and even other gijinkas - that I’ve seen have given me a reason not to trust them. ...What with the corruption and other things that they seem to enjoy so much,” he murmured lowly, shrugging. ”And I’d be open to spending time with others by all means to allow them to try and get me out of that mindset, by all means. ...It’s just that immediately flirtatious mannerisms normally don’t set the best first impressions with me, nor are they easy to overcome once they are made.” It was his turn to shake his head. ”It just takes specific people. Specific people with specific approaches- and as far as I’m concerned as of now, you’re just not one of those people who could successfully or easily do it.”

She still couldn't say she was surprised. His reactions and responses had been the same no matter how many times she'd tried this attempt at conversation, though by contrast he was at least talking to her. Honestly she wasn't sure which was better: him being a silent, untalkative prick or him actually bothering to speak to her for once. Truth be told, she did rather appreciate that she was finally managing to learn just a tad bit about him. She could only nod as he mentioned the corruption that seemed rampant in society- she'd seen it herself, after all. She saw it in the eyes of business executives, of select members of the Association. It saddened her to no end, but there wasn't a whole lot she could do about it. She sighed, allowing the full gravity of his words to sink in before nodding slightly. Of course he'd taken an issue with her initial flirting. She should've anticipated as much anyway, though it wasn't like she had complete control over absolutely everything that came out of her mouth.
"I guess I should apologize for my initial behavior then," she spoke softly, closing her eyes slightly. If anything she couldn't keep herself from pitying Jae. A life without any sort of meaningful companionship wasn't a very good life to live. If anything it was an immensely lonely one. "Solemn discussion has never been my forte. Even when I was a kid I had a tendency to make jokes and keep things as happy as possible."
Perhaps that's why their memory still weighs so heavily upon you... You've never taken the time to let this happy facade drop long enough to properly grieve for them. The thoughts came unbidden, and she flinched ever-so-slightly as they surfaced, memories dragging themselves up with them. She opened her eyes just slightly, enough that she wouldn't have to stare at the recollections of the Imum War playing back against the inside of her eyelids. Everyone had lost so much during that... not even she'd been spared, and try as she might she still bore the scars.
"Regardless, I do hope that you'll be able to look past my... initial transgressions eventually, even though I'm not going to be taking any of what I said back," she said, opening her eyes and looking up at him as she spoke. A faint ember burned within her eyes, evidence not only of her heritage as a Gijinka but also her constant determination. She'd break through to him- even if it killed her in the process.
After all. Nobody deserved to live alone, and even in the company of Pokemon it never hurt to have another companion alongside you.

[attr="class","mouths1"]In response to her own, initial replies, the legendary himself merely gave her a distant and generally passive glare - one that was, of course, more or less natural whether or not he attempted to make it otherwise - before inhaling deeply yet silently all the same; taking a heavy breath within his lungs, holding it, and releasing it outwards with an equally as quiet exhale in comparison to when he had breathed it inwards. ”You claim that to be your reasoning, but the world itself is the farthest from jokes and happiness. ...Nowadays, at least,” he murmured with a touch of unintentional yet natural bitterness all the while. Voids of a deepened, royal hue of blue averted from the person that he had taken care to refer to; instead focusing themselves upon the fossil Pokemon that resided upon his shoulder. For several moments, he gave a brief pause while taking a gander upon it; his common sternness briefly and vaguely softening as he stroked the small, tendril-like appendages that it maintained before he cast his attention towards its trainer once more from the corner of his eye- and with a sudden, revitalized touch of his usual, stoic nature. ”Life is harder than that. ...Life is more serious than that. If you treat it like it isn’t more times than you should, then it’s just the farthest from beneficial for you in the grand scheme of things.”
With the ending of those most recent remarks, Jae Hyun gave another pause to match with another, softer breath; sighing it outwards within a slightly quicker manner than he had done with the prior one. Within the same, general span of time that he exhaled for a second time, he took care to quickly yet softly and gently place his hands upon either side of the Omanyte’s shell; plucking it off of his shoulder before crouching down to place it upon the floor with the utmost sense of care. He watched it for several moments more before peering over towards his own Axew as he came stumbling back over; greeting his own trainer with a couple of happy and energetic chirps before turning his attention towards the neighboring Pokemon. By the time that Tairix himself was softly poking at Omni and urging him to follow him to join the other creatures within a nearby, indoor pen, Zekrom took care to focus upon them for a little bit more before tilting his head up to gaze up at the other yet again.
He remained crouching for the moment. ”...Of course you won’t take it back. Words are impossible to take back- but even if they were, I wouldn’t expect you to take any of what you said back, anyways,” he responded rather bluntly after enough time had passed. The spark within her eyes seemed to be acknowledged by him, and had been evident through the manner in which he gave her a continuously silent, yet subtly more pensive look all the same- though in the long run, he merely dismissed the expression with a gentle shake of the head while shutting his eyes softly. ”I’ve said this before, though, and I’ll say it again. Try as much as you want. ...As reluctant as I am to say it, I’d more or less be willing to give you a chance if you’re gonna be that insistent over it, but I’m fairly sure that you still won’t get anywhere.”

He was right, of course. Joking always had been one of her less favorable defensive tactics when it came to dealing with... well, anything. The only time she hadn't immediately gone to joking to cope with something was then the Imum War had taken four of her best friends from her. Only Moxie and Dex remained from that original group now, and she knew they could see how much that loss still weighed on her sometimes. She blamed her own incompetence as a trainer above all else for what had happened, even though there was no way for her to reverse such things. She listened silently as Jae spoke, her stance speaking both of contemplation and attentiveness as he did so. The discussion had turned far more serious than she had really ever been comfortable with, though something told her that she wouldn't really be able to change that to any true degree anytime soon.
"I'm persistent to a fault. It's part of what landed me a spot on the League," she stated simply, looking back up at him with red eyes. Her ears flicked beneath her hat, the fabric shifting just slightly to herald the action as Omni followed the Axew off. The shelled creature was a bit slow comparatively, but he was nothing if not every bit as persistent as his trainer. "I probably wouldn't even be in Lyeant were in not for that persistence." She had the vague, biting thought that perhaps Jae would've liked if she'd never made it to Lyeant. If she'd just given up halfway through. She forced these thoughts back, beating them down as quickly as she did her depressive urges for the first half year after they had died.
She shifted her thoughts away from that topic again. Best for everyone that she didn't allow herself to dwell on it any longer.

[attr="class","mouths1"]”...Well, that much is obvious,” Jae started off within a rather flat toned response, ”because if the League members themselves aren’t persistent in some sort of way, then we’d basically be run and defended by a punch of piss poor excuses for leaders.” Again with the cynicism, but then again, it was pretty much a given with the gjinka in question. For several moments following his initial statement, Zekrom himself brought his arms into a gentle cross over his chest; voids of a royally azure brilliance veiling over as he closed them softly, and his wings twitching gently behind his form while he dwelled within his own and brief realm of thought all the while. ”Persistence is definitely something that I can respect,” he went on simply, ”but in regards to the things that matter. ...The things that’re necessary. And if it isn’t blatantly obvious enough by now, I don’t see why your persistence in regards to constantly trying to talk to me is necessary in itself.”
Following those last several statements, the man himself merely allowed the veils of his eyes to part faintly and gently all the same; those same, navy hued orbs that dwelled beneath appearing once more, though not focusing upon the conversational partner that he found himself engaged with within those given moments in time. Rather, they lingered upon the floors beneath the two of them for the meantime instead; scanning the tiles within an idle degree of thought for several moments more before he inhaled deeply yet quietly all the same. The very same breath that he took would have been expelled outwards within a similar manner, and it would not have been until that time that he finally bothered to tilt his head upwards to the most subtle degree in order to peer upon the one before him once more- though even then, it was from the corner of his eye, and within a seeming glare nonetheless.
Whether or not the glare was intentional or not was something that was always a question in itself.
”...I understand that...approaching others is inevitable. And that befriending others is often needed for one’s own personal gain and benefits in numerous ways,” he began once more. ”But what you’re exhibiting is essentially the textbook definition of insanity, now. You come to me on a near daily basis; using your Pokemon as an excuse to talk to me. You keep trying; hoping that you’ll attain another, different response- though deep down, you know that you won’t get anything different from me in any case. Attempting to befriend others procures a positive influence on others in most cases, but only to a certain point. ...And in this case, I feel as if the amount of persistence you’re keeping up with is a bit questionable. Intriguing to some degree, but still questionable and even borderline foolish.”
