Gracie was doing something a little different today. Dressed up in a nice blue and yellow floral design dress and a large sun hat, she had ended up finding herself seated at a little cafe across from a nearby park. Figured she could have some lunch as it was about that time of day, then let the Pokemon stretch for a bit at the park before she would need to return home. She sat alone at a three-chair table outside, herself in one seat while her Noctowl, Haku, was perched on the back of the seat next to her where she had placed her sunhat to rest while she ate. It wasn't often she treated herself despite having more than enough funds to do so. Honestly she just usually chowed on cup noodles and other microwave foods in order to save time for her writing.
Gracie had decided to go with a surprisingly large sandwich, not what one would exactly expect of a smaller looking young woman such as herself. At least, unless seeing a five foot five girl packing down a loaded foot long roast beef deli sandwich was the norm for you that is. Still, it was calories and calories meant extra energy to work on her novels some more and make various drafts for new ideas. While she had a couple series to still continue and a few pending works, it wasn't unusual for her to have a handful of side projects as well.
At some point Haku's voice rang into Gracie's mind. We have some company. The owl commented to her alone, causing Gracie to look up as someone happened to approach. Suddenly her heart started racing and she felt herself slowly begin to panic a bit, but did her best to force the feeling down and try to calm herself. No need to get worked up, it was just someone approaching. Still, it irked at her, and part of her wanted to just melt into a puddle to get away. Outwardly? She forced a smile, but it was quite convincing for sure.

It had been quite some time since Luke didn’t have a million things to focus on. No cases, no being up all night going over evidence. No in fact he had all the time in the world to do whatever it was that he wanted to and it was a strange but nice feeling, at least that’s what he figured he should feel like. It was nice of course but part of him wanted to get back to working. This very thought made him sigh, disappointed in his own inability to enjoy some time off. However he felt in all fairness with everything going on how could someone blame him?
He was taking a stroll through the city, deciding that it was best to get some fresh air and not be cooped up inside all day. By his side was his Slyveon with his Pikachu resting on his shoulder as the little scamp typically did. There was no destination in mind so whatever caught his eye he’d decide to check it out. They had already made a few stops before hand to shops which either caught Luke’s attention or the attention of one of his Pokémon, which in hindsight might have been a bad idea as Watts had a habit of getting distracted easily.
However this time it would be Luke would be distracted by the sight of something. In his downtime Luke fancied himself someone who took joy in reading and because of that there were some authors that he followed due to being fans of their work. He just so happened to spot someone that he was familiar with and was a bit surprised by the sight. The first thought that crossed his mind was why was this person here of all places but that was something for another time. In the meanwhile one didn’t get this sort of chance that often so he figured he’d make the best of it.
”Hello there!” Luke said, greeting the younger lady with a smile and a wave. ”My deepest apologies for interrupting your lunch but I just had to come meet you. My name is Luke Belmont. It’s a real pleasure to meet you. I’m a big fan of your work.” He hoped he wasn’t overstepping a boundary right now. It was strange being the one to approach someone like this and not the other way around. He got a bit used to it however seeing how in certain areas he was a bit popular seeing how the stunts he pulled did garner a bit of attention.

The man who had approached greeted, then introduced himself to her. Oh, he was someone who read her works? She took a breath, trying to calm her nerves a bit before nodding. Go ahead and take a seat if you wish, we aren't expecting anyone. Haku's voice rang into the man's mind. You may know already, but this is Gracie Padwell and I am Haku, loyal companion and speech translator! Haku announced proudly, mostly for his part of the bargain anyway. Gracie meanwhile sat where she was and just let Haku do the talking, seeing as she couldn't in the first place anyway.
She picked up her sandwich though and began working at it some more, at this point she was half way through it and probably going to see about taking on the last half now. She still was rather hungry and having a nice, full stomach tonight would give her a real good boost in energy for keeping herself going as she worked toward her current deadline. She'd get there though, no doubt about it. Just needed to buy some caffeine and energy drinks a little later plus some snacks to keep it up and she'll be golden!
