TWO YEARS AGO, A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION GOING BY THE NAME TEAM IMUM WRECKED CHAOS ACROSS THE LAND, DAMAGING CITIES AND KILLING THOUSANDS OF CITIZENS. While Imum itself has long since been disbanded, however, the region remains broken: entire towns have been laid to waste and the Association struggles to find homes for those who were lucky enough to survive the attempted genocide. Reconstruction trudges on as usual... but with three factions - the Association, the corporations, and the people - each wishing to take the rebuilding of an entire region down opposite paths, how long will it be before Lyeant's last leg gives out permanently?

we're officially re-opened! come check out our event, the pokeathlon forever to enjoy some fresh restart activities. let leap know if there are any skin bugs, and they'll be sorted out accordingly!
Care to hear about our lord and savior Operation: Mindcrime? In all seriousness: Hello, hello! I'm Pharaoh Leap – or just Leap – local head admin and rock opera enthusiast. On the rare chance you catch me in a time when I'm not bawling about characters entirely written into song, you may see me actually doing work around the site, like skinning, making too many characters, and encouraging others to also make too many characters. I only know how to write angst, and in no fewer than six trillion words an app or post, so if you like dying while reading like I like dying while writing, I'm the girl for you. ;o
Howdy guys! The names Astro and I am your resident Brit & Red muse (you'll honestly see me more on him than any of my other characters). I'm a moderator and my main job is to make sure everything is running smoothly so the Admins can focus on other things, you'll often see me within the apps and shops, etc when I'm not on Red. What can I say about myself? Apart from being a Red fanboy I like music and games and yaoi huehue, I honestly never now what to put into these sort of things but ohwell, I'm more of a "ask me and I'll tell" sorta guy. Anyway, from my personally I hope that you enjoy the site and what we produce here but also if you're new, please look around and if you like what you see please consider joining for rad plots that everyone gives! :D
Hey there~ Nano over here! I uh.. Wait, I'm doing this right, right? Bleh. So I'm a moderator over here - fun, fun - who kind of just.. Keeps an eye on everyone. You know, the whole app thing and what not. Uh.. Lets see.. When I'm not doing school work (because I may or may not be trying to be a good student) I'm probably storming up new ideas like events and etc. Or plots. Plots are always good, too. As you can see, I uh.. Have the horrible habit of making way too many characters. I swear, I was tempted with plots, ships and angst. It's like, the holy trinity. Uh.. What else is there about me? Oh, right! Please excuse my obnoxiousness. I'm just really loud in general so don't be surprised if I start screaming as loudly as I can caps. So yeah. Nice meeting you!
tbe: take two! is inspired by, but not associated with nintendo's pokemon franchise. the current skin was created by pharaoh leap using font icons primarily from ion icons and fonts from google fonts. banner art by vav of pixiv. characters, with the exception of canons from the manga, belong to the members who write them, and all posts and templates on site are credited to their respective authors and artists. we claim nothing that is not ours.

>> FACE CLAIMS
WHO LOOKS LIKE WHO
[attr="class","taketwogenmid"]
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Below this blurb, you'll find our list of all taken and reserved face claims. If you're starting a new character or just planning one out for the future, it's important to make sure that you know which characters from what series have already been claimed as to not cause any problems later down the apping process; if your character has already been accepted, similarly, it's important that you come here to claim that face claim as yours so no one else tries to snatch it from you! Face claims must be animanga in nature, meaning no real life person may be used to portray your character. CGI characters are allowed, but we ask that you use animanga-style art if at all possible. We're willing to budge for your dream face claim, but please put in an effort on your end if you're going to take this route. Face claim reservations last two weeks and are first come, first serve. There's no limit on how many you may reserve at once, but please don't hog them to yourself if you don't fully intend on using them![break][break]
Reservations end at midnight (central time/greenwich mean time) on the date provided in your reservation post, meaning that notification posts any time prior to 11:59 PM on the day before (central time/greenwich mean time) will be considered valid. All reserves may be extend a maximum of one time should you need extra time, but may only be extended within a day of your reservation expiring (or any time prior to the reserve expiring). Should someone else claim your reserve prior to your extension, it will go to them. Again, this is first come, first serve. Exceptions to this limit are in the instance that an emergency, lack of Internet, or any other such problem may impede on your ability to finish your character in time. We certainly don't want you hogging a character you're not finishing out of laziness or procrastination, but we're more than understanding if life may get in the way of finishing in time. Give a valid reason for an extension, essentially, and it's yours. Personal messages will be sent out two days prior to a reservation's expiration so that you're aware of your time limit. Please be mindful to not let applications sit if it can be avoided. Thank you for your cooperation.

>> APPLICATION
TEMPLATE & REGULATIONS
[attr="class","taketwogenmid"]
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Provided here are the applications that we would like you to fill out before roleplaying your character. You may choose to fill out whichever version of whichever app provided below you so desire. Note that while we are very lax about the application, we still ask that you give us a good idea of the sort of character you are trying to play. No section is optional, although you are welcome to format the extended personality section however you wish and put whatever you could possibly want in the biography – a bullet list of history points, a drabble, a post sample, a written biography... it's up to you, so long as there's something. Outside of those two, all listings should be filled out.[break][break]
Our current applications include a plotter, or "shipper" portion. Please note that this is entirely optional, and does not need to be completed prior to your character being accepted. You'll be allowed to go back and add it in at any time you so desire, if ever. This is not, however, an acceptable reason to go back and change major aspects of your application; if edits not pre-approved by staff have been made on the sly, you will be punished accordingly.[break][break]
Threads should be titled with the character's name in all caps, as well as with a description consisting of the character's group, age, and player (example: pokemon association, ninety-nine, played by ___). If your character is part of the Pokemon Association, replace GROUPNAME with ASSOCIATION in all caps; if they are part of parallax, replace it with PARALLAX; if they are part of the republic of lyeant, replace it with REPUBLIC. If you've done this correctly, the app should change colors. Be sure to post in the notification thread once your application is completed to let us know to review it. There is no real time limit on how fast these applications must be done, but reservations on face claims and canons will expire, and should you not be able to finish your app before the reservation is up and it goes to someone else, you're fresh out of luck.[break][break]
"Short-hand" personality includes bullet points and is meant to list only traits/(dis)likes. "Long-hand" includes a scrolling area that can be formatted to your desire and contain as many words as you so desire. Either app is fine; pick the one that best fits your writing style![break][break]
NOTE FOR THE SECOND APP: There's a section that you can see that lists "traits". Replace the word "trait" with one such that describes your character, then replace the percentage width with any number between 0 and 100. For example, if my character is very cowardly, I'd change "trait" to "cowardly" and set the percentage width to 90%. If he's also reliable, but not too much so because of his cowardice, I might change the next "trait" to "reliable" and set it at 50%. They're flexible, so get creative![break][break]
Because our application also functions as a plotter, plot replies can be and should be posted directly to accepted character applications. The plot reply template code has been included below the application codes. Just like the application, you should replace the "GROUPNAMEHERE" with your character's short-hand group name in all caps: the same name as you used in the application, PARALLAX/REPUBLIC/ASSOCIATION. The image is a 100x100 icon.

If you take a gander over to the mini-profile on the side of this post, you'll notice that this account – as well as all others on site – have a little something called “poké”. This is site currency that can be earned through various means, typically through posting and general activity on site, and can be put to use here by purchasing any of the following offers. Funds cannot be pooled from multiple accounts, so if you're hankering for one specific item, you'll have to wait until you've generated enough poké on one single account before making the purchase. On a positive note, however, each group gets its own discount on specific items in the shop, and certain groups have access to perks that others don't. Make sure you know what perks your character has before making a purchase – it could save you a couple poké!

DISCORD NAME COLOR ( 10 ) change your name's display color in our discord servers. color must be a specific hex code.[break][break]
FACE CLAIM CHANGE ( 25 ) bored of your character's current face claim and found a new one that may suit them better? Don't fret over having to stick with the old and forget the new – simply purchase this item and immediately switch it over![break][break]
FOREVER RESERVE ( 100 ) updating reservations can be a pain, particularly when an app has been taking longer than expected. rather than renewing that face claim reservation and running the risk of someone snatching it from right under your nose, though, consider buying this to put that face claim on reserve for as long as it takes to finish that app![break] does not work for canon reservations.[break] may be purchased for another account.[break][break]
WANTED AD RESERVE ( 25 ) certain wanted advertisements call for very specific face claims, but in the wait between you posting that ad and someone taking it, the face claim you're asking for may very well be snatched away! in order to make sure that face claim goes only toward the character in your wanted ad (at least, for the two week reservation date), reserve your wanted ad face claim with this convenient item![break][break]
CUSTOM TITLE ( 50 ) add a custom title to your account. this will show up in mini-profiles, user-profiles, and/or sidebars, depending on the skin. please, however, keep this short, at a maximum of perhaps three words (or two, if those words are particularly long).[break][break]
APPLICATION EDITS ( 50 ) whether it be a dull history that needs to be expanded on or a revamp in personality, if you see any reason at all that your application may need edits, fork over some money and get to editing! this counts only for major edits and character overhauls, so don't feel the need to purchase this for minor error fixes.[break][break]
EXTRA CANON SLOT ( 150 ) already hit your limit on canons? Never fear – assuming you have the correct number of funds! purchase this item and bypass the number limit on any group of canons in the canon list.[break] may only be purchased twice.[break][break]

POKEMON EGG ( 50 ) get a pokemon egg from... somewhere? eggs will hatch after three threads into any pokemon of your choosing, so make sure to let the staff know what 'mon you'd like, and drop a line in the moderation request thread when it's time for the little guy to hatch.[break]republic members only.[break][break]
SHINY CHARM ( 250* ) turn one of your non-shiny pokemon into a shiny pokemon using this special charm.[break] * 200 for parallax members[break][break]

MEGA EVOLUTION STONE ( 150* ) any stone of your choosing. if you've managed to earn this many points, you've had plenty of time to build up the correct bond to mega evolve with your pokemon, and the two of you have certainly earned it![break] * 120 for association members[break][break]
BUILD A BOARD ( 200 ) create a custom sub-board in any board, even if it's one of the main strongholds or a board controlled by another faction. be sure to send a small board description and board name along with your purchase so that the staff can put it up.[break][break]
TEAM CHANGE ( 150 ) officially denounce your previous group in favor of another. just remember that this will definitely have in character ramifications, and you'll likely never be allowed to change back - proceed with caution.[break][break]
POKÉ TO POINTS convert as many poké to points you can donate for your team here as you so choose - assuming, of course, you've got the poké to begin with![break] association members only.

LORE OF THE LAND
[attr="class","taketwogenmid"]
GIJINKAS
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Gijinkas are enigmatic creatures that have sat prettily somewhere between a human and any species of Pokemon for as long as, if not longer than written history dates. It's a mystery as to where they originated – the origins of one line of gijinka, too, may not be the same as another – or how they came to be. All that is known is that they've been hiding in plain sight for thousands of years, often trying to live under the guise of human beings. It's hard to say for certain what constants there are across all gijinkas, seeing as many differ in what powers they may have or what “Pokemon parts” they may exhibit. Most gijinkas, however, are able to wield at least a fraction of the power that their species of Pokemon does. A Charmander gijinka, for example, can create and manipulate fire, although the strength of their control over said fire will differ between this Charmander gijinka and that. One may have a tail while another may only have hair the color of a Charmander's scales. An Espeon gijinka, as well, is more likely to have psychic powers that a normal human. A Morelul gijinka can summon glowing spores to confuse their enemies. The list goes on and on. In addition to this, they also tend to have aversions to types that weaken them. A fire-type gijinka, for example, is more likely to fear water, and a bug-type gijinka is more likely to find themselves weary of birds. One constant across all gijinkas, however, is that they are more resilient than the normal human being; stronger immune systems make them less susceptible to diseases and more likely to recover, and blows that would incapacitate a human being may be shaken off (depending on the strength of the blow, that is).[break][break]
In the past, gijinkas were widely feared and ridiculed by human society, thought to be freaks of nature and “unnaturals”. This led to most gijinkas living in isolation or in hiding. Despite as much as a tenth of the population being made up of these gijinkas, fewer than one percent were ever known to be what they were. More recent history, however, has increased the number of gijinkas, albeit often through inhumane means. Team Imum, for years before they were made public and tore through the region, went about kidnapping civilians from the streets and preforming experiments of various types on them. Some of these resulted in artificial gijinkas through a very painful process. Some were reconditioned to later help in Imum's rampage; others escaped or were later liberated during the Imum war and have spent the rest of their lives as gijinkas against their will. A smaller company, in the more recent past, has discovered how to make artificial gijinkas through less painful and more humane means, offering “gijinka procedures” to the common man so that those who wish to become a gijinka could, despite their human heritage - but the procedure is still a long one, with many draw backs, and few outside the elite have the money to afford such a thing. The increase in the gijinka population, the sorrowful tales of those who were turned against their will, and the knowledge of where the species can come from have all served to make them better known amongst their human peers. This hasn't gotten rid of the extreme prejudice, however, between humans and gijinkas, nor has it done anything to smooth out tension between natural born and artificially made gijinkas. One could say that things are better than they've ever been for this group, now that they're being made known to the public – but “better” doesn't necessarily always mean “good”.
THE POKEMON LEAGUE

The Pokemon League was created by the national Pokemon Association some many years ago, taking root in nearly all regions of Pokearth to this date. The League can be separated into two phases that anyone with a legal trainer badge (also issued by the Pokemon Association) can partake in: the Pokemon Gym Challenge and the triennial Pokemon League Tournament. Eight (give or take) gym leaders are assigned to various gyms across the region where they can be challenged at nearly any time by those who wish to do so. Those who beat the gym leader in battle or otherwise earn their respect through different means will earn themselves a special gym badge. Because gym leaders are so powerful, it's very rare for a single trainer to collect all eight gym badges. This does not mean, however, that it's entirely unheard of. Gym Leaders themselves are appointed by the Association, often by taking incredibly challenging battle-oriented tests of skills (for example: knocking out multiple high level Pokemon within a short time limit and without losing a single Pokemon). Other times, highly respected individuals may be offered the gym leader position by Association council members. It's by these means that the Elite Four are also chosen, although criteria for Elite Four members are much higher. They are, after all, a critical part of the Pokemon League Tournament.[break][break]
Every three years in Eirenhyre City – or the designated League spot in other regions – the Association hosts a massive League Tournament that any legal trainer, whether they have a single gym badge to their name or no, may participate in. This is split into a series of preliminaries, the finals, and then the Tournament's victor's shot at the champion title. On the off chance that a trainer has managed to collect all eight gym badges, they are allowed to skip the preliminaries and are put directly into the finals. Trainers battle each other until one alone has made it out of the finals. From there, the single winner is allowed the chance to take on the Elite Four and Champion in a series of rapid fire one-on-one battles. Should the victor be able to beat all five, they are crowned the new League Champion. Should they fail at any point, they are simply crowned the winner of the Tournament and the champion keeps their title for another three years. Elite Four members and the champion may be challenged at any point between League Tournaments, and should the champion lose, they are allowed to relinquish their title to the trainer who beat them, but in almost all cases, these Tournaments are where new Champions are witnessed taking power.
LEGENDARY POKEMON
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
While they are called gijinkas, the truth is that these legendaries-in-human-bodies are not gijinkas in the traditional sense. A true gijinka is based entirely on biology; legendary gijinkas are based on housings of the soul. Centuries ago, the Unovan dragon of truth discovered a means by which to force her soul into a human vessel. In this day in age, the knowledge has been spread throughout the legendaries and, for reasons unknown or unique to each legendary, they have decided to take on human forms. Like their reasons, however, legendary “gijinkas” and how they function vary on a case-by-case basis. Some have chosen to take over empty vessels, dead human bodies that they have chosen to reanimate for their own purposes. Some have chased the human soul out of the body or otherwise crushed it for complete control over the body. Some still have somehow merged themselves with the original owner, creating an amalgamation of the original human and the legendary that took them over. Appearance-wise, the only changes that may be made are entirely in eye and hair color. Only rarely do the legendary's “parts” appear on the human's outward appearance. These “gijinkas” are entirely capable of using their original powers, however, albeit a bit weakened compared to how they would be in their usual god-like forms. Jirachi may still grant wishes and Mesprit still reigns over emotions – that has not changed. Legendaries can sense each other even in their human forms, and many have already seen the vessels that others have taken on, although whether or not certain legendaries recognize that “sense” for what it is completely depends on the legendary in question.
LEGALITY IN LYEANT
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
The quickest way to break laws is to know what there is to break. While walking you through the entire list of laws in the Lyeant region, we figured it beneficial to make note of some particular laws that are either oft broken or deviate from our own “norm”. Murder, of course, theft in any form, assault, and the like are all still frown upon and punished heavily – former members of Imum can attest will to this – but others aren't as black-and-white as one would think.[break][break]
Trainer cards are issued to interested parties are a relatively young age. While simple spars are fine in the youth of the region (aspiring trainers battling it out with baby Pokemon) and the occasional scrap fine between those who are not registered trainers, in order to formally battle any member of the League and in order to battle for money or sport – you know, the old “travel across the land, searching far and wide” and battling trainers along the way sort of thing – one must be able to show an Association-issued license. Obtaining one isn't difficult at all, and can be done so from as young an age as ten. Those prone to unnecessary violence or particularly unstable mental conditions may be denied access to one on a case-by-case basis, but plenty of criminals have been found to have licenses post-arrest. Revocation of trainer cards is a particularly rare occurrence; those who have used Pokemon for theft or battery may have their card suspended, but typically only those who use their Pokemon for crimes such as murder or treason find their license indefinitely taken away; not that many get out from behind bars early enough in life to see it make much of a difference anyway. Because the difference between a “friendly fight” and an official “trainer battle” can be a little hard to determine, most laws regarding trainer cards are kept rather flexible. Truly, so long as you aren't cage fighting or battling once your card has been taken from you by force, you've little to worry about in this regard.[break][break]
Fire arms of virtually any sort are strictly prohibited across the region, both from a safety standpoint and because of the adverse affects their presence alone can have on nearby Pokemon. Pokemon exposed to guns are often seen to become more agitated, much more prone to violence, and the number of casualties caused by Pokemon reacting to the weapons are higher than the casualties caused by the weapons themselves. Weapons like knives, swords, hammers, brass knuckles, and so forth don't appear to have the same affect – or, if they do, not nearly to the same degree – and are typically allowed with varying levels of regulation. It's still pretty uncommon to see someone walking around with a katana in hand, but in comparison to our own version of Earth, skills with more elaborate blades are far more prominent.[break][break]
Human trafficking is, in truth, entirely non-existent, replaced, instead, with the equally heinous trafficking of gijinkas. Despite their more or less unspoken nature to the public, poor, captured gijinkas have been bought and sold in the region's underbelly for generations, some even bred specifically for the task. Because of their odd nature, many are thought of as less than human and Pokemon kind alike – prized either as breathing trophies or treated as monsters fit for nothing better than labor, depending on the owner. With the existence of gijinkas recently having been brought to life, this specific slave trade has been forced to slow even more, although it's not unheard of for gijinkas who haven't kept their nature very well hidden to disappear in the night – and end up in some very cruel hands.
THE TIMELINE OF IMUM
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
It's been not quite two years since the official fall of Team Imum. With their reigning leadership – admins and leader herself – disappeared like a fleeting puff of smoke, its members were left to scatter, many falling into the hands of the law and suffering due punishment for their terrible crimes. It was only after just over a year of bloody conflict, however, that victory was secured, the “Imum Wars” lasting just that long. Worse, still, is that a single year was not enough to contain the organizations evil. Imum's actual age remains something of a mystery, with different members throwing out various numbers as shots in the dark toward its point of origin. Crimes previously unsolved – missing persons, company arsons, stolen Pokemon – have been linked back to members of Imum as early as four, perhaps five years prior toward their official reveal and the start of the war. To this day, victims of horrific experimentation and condition have been liberated from abandoned laboratories, many of them thought to have died years ago. Perhaps only the original leader, Nymah, could say when the group first officially formed together underneath her vision. Its age, then, disappeared with her: knowledge never to be known, and a woman never to be seen in life or in death.

ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS LYEANT
[attr="class","taketwogenmid"]
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
On the site, we encourage people to create small, custom sub-groups of their own, often but not always bridging the gaps between the three main member groups. These are usually kept small, but are no less noteworthy. Once a member-submitted group has been approved by the staff, they'll be added to the list below for easy access. More than we encourage the creation of these do we encourage the participation in them, so once you've decided with which faction your character is most likely to align, consider which of the following they may also want to take part in!
Lyeant's most prominent and powerful mafia, stationed in Irisia. While originally an almost exclusively family affair, recent times have forced the Terra Nostra to open its doors and membership to those without Nickolos blood. Their names and their nefarious deeds, whether it be smuggling and distributing illegal goods, aiding in the gijinka slave trade, or the general breaking of heads are known almost only by those who affiliate themselves with the family, as well as the prominent members of Parallax that they aid and who, in turn, keep them out of jail.
A band of former Imum members who managed to escape the eyes of the law, sprinkled with blood-seeking radicals who missed out on the action the first time around. Neo-Imum boasts terribly small numbers in comparison to the Imum of two years prior, but if their plans pan out the way they desire, their former leader, Lorelei Ackermann, will have a terrifying force to return to with which to make the Imum dream a reality once more. Because of their small numbers and lack of general power, this group has done very little thus far in working toward their plan of world genocide, though hit-and-run acts of violence pinned on The Republic have been popping up across the three major strongholds all the same, and their short-term plans grow more and more dangerous by the day.
One of the hottest bands to hit the modern airwaves, claim critics, as well as one of few artists to have picked back up their instruments and hit the stage on Lyeant soil. The Subway Messiahs aren't your conventional hair band – for one, a woman lead is near unheard of, and not a soul sports the long hair or leather pants typically associated with the genre – but their popularity is undisputed, and the moral they've boosted with their music just the same. If it's not the music itself, it's the charity concerts they put on wherever and whenever they're able. Whether you're a musician yourself looking to join or an avid fan, drop on by.
In a region that generally outcasts gijinkas and has done so for as long as they've been known, it should come as no surprise that a system of gijinka protection has risen from their ranks. The Gijinkas for a Better Society is a group of – well, gijinkas – who have banded together in order to aid those who may be struggling to hide themselves among the common masses or make a general living for themselves. They aid others in the arts of blending in, as well as pool together and distribute resources in order to help levy their brothers who may not be so well off on their own. Their noble cause is only tainted by the administration's general distaste for human kind; members of the GfaBS are often encouraged to isolate themselves from non-gijinkas if at all possible and keep personal relations entirely within their own circle.
Lights – cameras – action! Nothing testifies the wellbeing of a nation than its ability to produce media, and in the last two years, Alstromeria has proven itself a powerhouse in that very department. With the financial aid and moral support of Unova's PokeStar Studios, Han-Ree Choi's dream of producing stardom on Lyeant soil has become a reality. Sitting down in theaters may just distract the people from the mess that lays around them, and it certainly pays its employees well. Movie stars and legendary directors aren't the only people involved here, however; models, vocalists, and even the lesser known guys like the ones doing your makeup can all be found here. If it's showbiz or the spotlight your after, there's no quicker a path to it than Alstromeria Studios!
Seemingly jumped right out from the television screen and onto the streets of Lyeant: Team Omricon is the closest modern day gets to real-life super heroes. Donning masks, costumes, and identity-protecting code names, these brave heroes answer any call for help across the region. Stationed out of Veherna, the Team has separated itself into individual squadrons – a smart move, show they need to cover more ground. Dreams of heroism are important, but make sure you know what you're getting into before you don the cape and cowl!

REGIONAL DIVISIONS
[attr="class","taketwogenmid"]
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Within just a year following the destruction of nearly the entirety of the Lyeant region, disputes over how the region should be rebuilt began to rear their ugly heads. At the time of To Bitter Ending's launch, however, vocal conflict between the occasional stray and the governing body have broken out into violent disputes between not two, but three major parties: the Pokemon Association, Parallax, and the Republic of Lyeant. Caught between two radically different ideas and a supposedly “lazy” middleman, disagreement over any one issue has never seem to been so wild, and never before has it ground production to such a halt. It's a power struggle to see who's will is done and who's is done first. The only questions now are who will be the ones to ultimately end up on top – and just who are you going to align yourself with?
PARALLAX ( #b474c2 )
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Money is power, they say, and nothing better defines this phrase more than Parallax, an alliance between Lyeant's two largest corporations and the common folk who share their ideals. Formed early on in the reconstruction process, Parallax speaks of a future far more technologically friendly than has ever been seen before and a need to launch the region so far ahead in the world of such technologies that organizations like Imum can never harm the region again. What they propose: region-wide defense so strong that it encompasses the entirety of Lyeant, protecting it from devastation from both internal and external forces that may nearly wipe it off the map again. People would no longer fear when they rest their heads at night, teams like Rocket or Plasma could be crushed before they even made a name for themselves, and Parallax would fund a program that would not only keep people safe, but comfortable beyond belief for centuries to come. The future can be now, so long as you swear allegiance to Silph Co. and allow them to turn your homes into the clockwork of a paradise of a fortress. The drawback? This only serves to benefit the humans that lost their lives – not the Pokemon those lives were lost to “protect”. Routes will be erased from maps, thousands of acres of Pokemon habitats destroyed to make room for one massive metropolis, and while nature reserves have always been part of the plan, there's only so much an imitation can do in the face of its original. Parallax promises protection that they can very well offer... but is safety really alright at the cost of another species' lifestyle?

THE REPUBLIC OF LYEANT ( #f75757 )
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Spawned from the outrage that came from Parallax's initial debut, the newest of the three groups has, despite not being a true republic yet, named itself the Republic of Lyeant and lives to be everything that the corporations are not. A Pokemon activist group with big plans for region upheaval, the Republic fights to revert Lyeant back to its past when the human footprint was still small and Pokemon were allowed to roam free and do as they pleased – not remain cooped up in a silly, confined nature reserve. Touched by Imum's originally noble cause, regardless of their repulsion to what came of it, members of the Republic are willing to admit that the region's past tragedies could have been prevented by being kinder to the Pocket Monsters around them and are willing to change to prevent future tragedies from happening in a much different manner than their biggest rival. Despite being thought of as the most “righteous” in goal of the three groups by most, the Republic's “open to any and all” attitude have made them an unfortunate magnet for delinquents and would-be rebels looking for any cause to excuse violent behavior. While their goals are noble, their methods are notoriously not, especially in comparison to the generally well-mannered members of the other two factions. Are the people willing to fight for what they believe in at the risk of being labeled, right or wrong, as a criminal?
[attr="class","taketwogencode"]GROUP BONUS: new pokemon discounts, rare pokemon chances
THE POKEMON ASSOCIATION ( #4d92d6 )
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
The Pokemon Association stretches its reach across nearly the entirety of Pokearth, responsible for the creation and upkeep of laws and regulations relating to the capture, training, and battling of Pokemon, as well as appointing Pokemon League members, providing social protection, and just about everything else under the sun. In Lyeant, their power has always been a little stronger than in other regions, functioning as the closest thing to a governing body it's ever seen. As such, when the region nearly met its death, it was their responsibility to protect the civilians, and it's now their responsibility to see that things go back to the way they were – exactly the way they were if all goes according to plan. No one cares to admit that they're wrong, particularly when their mistakes may just have been the cause of thousands upon thousands of innocent deaths, and if pretending that they were never wrong in the first place is the only way to maintain their power and give the people mental security in the people protecting them, then that's just what they intend to do. The first of the three factions and easily the most moderate, the Association houses everything from corrupt officials unable to admit to their mistakes, to League members just trying to protect the ones they love, to the common folk who want to see compromise above all else. Those who find themselves on the fence tend to fall here, if only because it calls for the fewest radical changes.

OLD & NEW LYEANT
[attr="class","taketwogenmid"]
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Moderate in climate and claiming Alola as its nearest neighborly region, Lyeant was a popular vacationing spot and a sea-faring superpower in the years before Imum stained its lands. Prior to the war, people were attracted for its landmarks, as well as the presence of nearly every wild Pokemon known to man. A draw back of this was the death of many foreigners caught up in the blast radius, with famous figures from across the globe wounded, killed, or otherwise trapped in the region as Imum had its way. The population is at an all-time low, what with the staggering number of casualties and people fleeing the region to make their home on safer grounds. At the same time, however, prominent figures from foreign lands have arrived to aid in the reconstruction process. What familiar faces will cross paths anew on unfamiliar soil...?
REGION STRONGHOLDS
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Only three cities manage to escape the battles with Imum relatively unscathed, credit either to their location or their defensive power during the war. While all three originally worked as strongholds for the Pokemon Association to work out of, upheavals of the other factions have claimed one city for each group - Irisia for Parallax, Eirenhyre for the Association, and Veherna for the Republic. No faction has actively worked to remove sympathizers or members of rivaling groups from their city limits, although vocal dissenters have been known to be attacked by more radical members of any given party. Despite the change in leadership, the physicality of each city remains virtually unchanged from their time prior to the war; a more thorough description of each can be found in the description of each's board respective.
LOST IN WRECKAGE
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
While Irisia, Eirenhyre, and Veherna claimed large populations from the start, many Lyeant-born citizens who live to tell the tale hailed from cities and towns now lost absolutely to wreckage. Whether the places themselves have been destroyed outright or have become inaccessible due to neighboring destruction, few of these areas can be visited, and going to any leaves one at high risk - whether it be to the elements, looters, or more of those pesky, trigger-happy radicals. For an idea of what Lyeant looked like two years ago, however, as well as possible places of birth for Lyeant-born citizens, please refer to these older descriptions of cities and landmarks. Each will be available for reconstruction as time goes on - but there's no guarantee they'll look the same in the future as they did in the past.[break][break]
VARDENT TOWN Humble and secluded by the sprawling forest wrapping it like a blanket. Vardent's small population and lack of physical landmarks made it easy to overlook, but its simple atmosphere made it the ideal nesting place for rare breeds of Pokemon, alongside the late Professor Pine.[break][break]
LICHT FOREST Once a place to be feared due to rumors of a ferocious beast hiding in the thicket of trees, the beast's supposed departure allowed for this otherwise bright and lush forest to be traversed without fear. Entrance into Vardent is impossible without taking the winding paths that lead through these old woods.[break][break]
CHISAI VILLAGE While boasting a similar size to Verdant, Chisai feels more underwhelming due to its accessibility. Tucked under the shadow of a towering mountain, only those who remember the unsuccessful mining days of old remain at these foothills. Supposedly, Acmi Industries got its humble start here.[break][break]
INFERIA TOWN Located higher up the mountainside than Chisai. Inferia, as one of the first established towns in Lyeant, have little to offer in way of landscape or natural attraction, but has managed to keep the spotlight on itself thanks to its local gym.[break][break]
NO MAN'S CAVERNS A series of tunnels seemingly made to test the patience, strength, and mental state of those who pass through it. In truth, it was originally carved as the fastest route through and around the mountains littering Lyeant's Western side, though local Pokemon and bored ne'ver-do-wells carved their own side paths through to transform the straight-away into something more of a labyrinth.[break][break]
ANGEL HEIGHTS Scenic, shorter, and far safer a path through the mountains than the No Man's Caverns, Angel Heights was named after its near godsend of a creation. The beautiful views to be seen from its overlooks have given it an especially fond reputation, and it's been labeled as one of the most romantic places in all of Lyeant.[break][break]
ERAYO CITY The shining star of the Western half of Lyeant, and known to boot for its various festivals and delicious foods. Despite its size, a hard-working police force has made it one of the safest places to live in the region, and many claim it to be a most-stop-place on any journey. Housing a gym only seems to make the statement all the more true.[break][break]
ISHYA TOWN The earliest target of Imum, before anyone ever even knew the name. Local hotsprings brought travelers who settled down in years gone by, and a gym that stood as the sole survivor after its original attack solidified its place as a Lyeant landmark, even after its original inhabitants were forced to evacuate the rubble.[break][break]
DESERT OF DISMAY A dip in the earth dividing East and West. This desert, in truth, only covers a small portion of land, but travelers would swear it stretches on for miles and miles all the same. The Pokemon here are especially ferocious, and those who would cross are advised to be as weary of heat stroke and dehydration as they are of wild Pokemon attacks.[break][break]
ARIA VILLAGE A dune - a hill - a shallow mountain? Simultaneously the highest point and site of the largest oasis in the desert, Aria is a little miracle of a village. For reasons yet unknown, flying-type Pokemon are especially common here, and many flying-type specialists, including the wealthy Hazel family have found their roots here.[break][break]
FIREFLY SPRINGS Tucked deep in the jungle-like mess West of Irisia, this largely unknown shortcut to the water-loving city is one of very few places of interest untouched by past conflict. Home to many Volbeat and Illumise, the water here seems to glow, creating beautiful scenery.[break][break]
IRISIA TOWN Separate from the underwater metropolis of the same name, although it inherited the name after the latter encroached on its territory. Irisia Town used to go by another name entirely, but after being mistaken for the water-loving city it neighbored, what with all the streams and fountains cutting through town, it gave in and embraced the name. A popular place for veterans to retire.[break][break]
DEMONS' LAKE Where demons themselves come out to play - supposedly. Many strange figures have been sighted on the far end of the lake, although no one has ever been able to claim to know what they are, and those who have gone to investigate have come back to explain. While many brush it off as powerful Pokemon obscured by distance, the lake has all the same been cut off to visitors... just in case. (a meeting place of legendaries, before and after their merge with humans; whatever did they get up to talking about here?)[break][break]
ORMY TERRITORIES Often mistaken for a tiny little town surrounded by nothing, the "town" actually claims all of the surrounding land, including foothills, a nearby forest, the wide expanse of plains, the ruins of what many believe to be an old temple, and a mysterious underground laboratory spanning nearly the entirety of the hundreds of acres Ormy covers. Home of another gym, fortunately conveniently located in the easy-to-locate town.[break][break]
OLD VEHERNA The remains of a city of dread near the Southern coast, abandoned in favor of New Veherna's high walls during the Imum War. Stragglers try to steal what treasures may have been left, but the empty gym has recently been re-purposed for brighter reasons.[break][break]
CASTLE TO THE SKY Located not far out into the ocean, the Castle was supposedly created long ago to house the strongest wild Pokemon in all of Lyeant. While the puzzles it takes to climb to the top - high enough some believe it climbs up all the way past the sky - are a challenge, the dragon-types that make this their home are all the worse. Most unprepared trainers don't make it out alive.[break][break]
NEURIFT CITY A city known for its wealth, as well as its gambling. Stretching out across both land and sea, sailors are far from an uncommon sight, and many a massive business managed to make its start here. It should be of no surprise that a gym was constructed here, and dragon-type specialists have reigned over it for generations.[break][break]
CASTAWAY ISLE An island of little content and fewer wild Pokemon - although, if rumors hold truth, any non-legendary can be found here if one searches long enough. One of few connections to the underground Cestavira City.[break][break]
CESTAVIRA CITY The ultimate safe house for humans, built during the time of an ancient war by brains of incredibly prowess. A combination of lost and current technology have made strides to make the underground city appear as though it is above ground, a false sky and everything, and prevents damage from heat and pressure, despite its location deep below the surface.[break][break]
HOPE'S PATH Formerly known as the Eirenhyre Pass, this underground tunnel extends to only half its length as a result of an arson cave in further down. A few stubborn souls haven't left their homes, caved into the walls, but it's mostly been abandoned.[break][break]
WORLD'S END A massive crater created by former Team Imum members and a misfired explosive that succeeded in cutting off the underground city of Cestavira from the above ground world. A memorial for many of the lives lost during the Imum War has been started here.

SO THE STORY GOES
[attr="class","taketwogenmid"]
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Eleven years ago, a quartet of frighteningly powerful trainers hailing by the title of the “Elite Four” tore violently across the face of the Kanto region, seeking to rid the world of its human population to make room for a Pokemon paradise. Many years after, a much larger group of like minded characters set to draw a firm line between Pokemon and their trainers, “liberating” the “enslaved” creatures from their “corrupt” partners. Both titans rose – both titans fell. Despite their corruption, however, and the fact that their numbers and their strengths had not been enough to see their will done, there were still those in the crowd (leftovers and sideliners alike) who continued to believe in their causes. Conviction boiled hot in the minds of Plasma members left lost in the wake of their leader's fall and those who had failed to take a stand when they'd had the chance. With a newly booming Lyeant region set on high, all it took was a few words to push them over the edge, and with their descent came the birth of Team Imum.[break][break]
Modeled after the supposed martyrs that had came before them, Imum set out to rid all humans that defiled Pokemon across the region – and more wildly, the world – owned and wild alike. For years the organization remained a secret, lead by their stealthy leader Nymah. However, when Nymah's successor, Lorelei, took the reigns, the group wasn't so quiet anymore. Making their entrance by detonating a party hosted by the league itself, all of Lyeant was thrown into panic as Imum ripped the region asunder, laying waste to anyone and everyone they could get their fingers on. For a while, it seemed hopeless, the enemy too powerful to stop. However, the people held onto what hope they could find.[break][break]
Banding together, the remainder of Lyeant's population rose up against the evil organization and, slowly by surely, tore away at it until there was nothing left. The people who they feared would destroy humanity as they knew it were scattered, thrown into prison, or put to death for their actions; former leaders Nymah and Lorelei have yet to be found, as well as a good number of grunts who went about blending into the population as normal citizens. Imum was dead. Unfortunately, so was a staggering portion of the region.[break][break]
It's been nearly two years since Lyeant's close call with death, but reconstruction has only just been able to begin. Had things gone as planned, the Pokemon Association would have been well on their way to restoring the near eighty-five percent of the region that has been rendered useless, but when everyone has stared death in the face, few are so placid as to roll over and let the Association have their way. No one can agree on how to restore things to their former glory (glory that, some would argue, never existed at all), and with dissent growing more and more violent as the days pass, it won't be long before what little remains falls apart under the weight of brutal civil war.

RULES & REGULATIONS
[attr="class","taketwogenmid"]
GENERAL
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
01
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Respect is a word tossed around these forum rules quite frequently, but it's certainly one that deserves to be mentioned and maintained. We understand that not everyone is going to enjoy one another's company, or even get along, but so long as you make an effort to be kind and respectful on the site, you and everyone else will be better off for it. Fighting should be kept out of the chat box and off of the forum entirely, and should disputes arise, the staff ask that you bring it to our attention so we may help resolve it before it gets out of hand. We don't ask that you be the nicest person to ever walk the roleplaying world's fictional ground – just that you aren't the meanest.
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
02
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
As is stated in Proboards' Terms of Service, all content on the site must be kept PG-13. This means that swearing must be kept to a relative minimal, excessively graphic violence should be shied away from, and sexual content will not be allowed in any form. If you really have an itch you need to scratch that violates any of these, you're more than welcome to take it elsewhere, so long as it stays off of the site. This also extends to images. If your character's avatar is making someone uncomfortable, please be the bigger member and remove it.
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
03
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Thieving of any sort will not be tolerated, whether that be stealing content from another site or using content stolen from this site on another forum. This includes characters, posts, applications, templates, art – anything, really, that you've taken and rehosted without permission. Blatant paraphrasing of another app or article counts as theft in addition to completely rip writing, code, art, and the likes. Should you be caught stealing, you'll be allotted twenty-four hours to remove the stolen content. If this fails to happen, you will be deleted and banned from the forum with no further warning.
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
04
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Please do not badger staff over direct messaging on Discord. We don't mind notifications for re-reservations, short-notice leave of absences, and things of a similar vein, but a channel in the Discord and a board on the site have both been dedicated to question asking and assistance seeking, so there's no need to pile up those notifications when the subject can easily be taken elsewhere. Casual conversation should be limited to discussion threads and the general chat, as well. Don't be dissuaded from talking to us about pressing or private concerns - we're not trying to berate anyone for asking from help at all! - but remember that we're busy people, and private messages probably aren't the place for very small questions.
CHARACTER CREATION
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
01
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
We're an account-per-character forum, meaning that for each character you roleplay, you'll have one account on the site. Out of character accounts are reserved for staff members, so if you're not part of the staff, make sure you only have character accounts on the board. We also impose no character limit or post limit before making a new character. Create as many as you wish, but be mindful of those who may want the face claim of a character you haven't touched in a while, as well as how active you can be with an arsenal of fifteen or more muses.
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
02
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
We require no uniformity when it comes to registered names - character names, ooc names, or any variant will do - although we ask that all display names are set to your character's full name in all caps. If your character exclusively goes by a name that is not their legal name, you're welcome to set your display name to that, so long as it lines up with your application. Otherwise, pet names and nicknames should be shied away from.
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
03
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Face claims should be animanga in nature. We do not accept real life face claims on the site. If you'd like to face claim a character from a series that is CGI in nature, you are welcome to, assuming the art you use is more or less done in an animanga style. Two characters on site are not allowed to have the same face claim unless you and another member have a set of twins or something along a similar vein, nor are you allowed to use characters originating from Pokemon as face claims for your characters should they appear in the manga. Exceptions can be made for trainer classes (like hex girls or lasses) that don't show up or play no real role in the story.
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
04
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
If you're struggling to find art for a supporting canon character (one that shows up in the manga), you are welcome to use a face claim from another series as a replacement. Be sure to claim both face claim and canon character in this instance. If there is sufficient art to be found, however, we ask you use their original design. If you are not using a face claim for your canon, don't worry about claiming their face in the face claim list. For example: if you're playing Red, you don't need to claim Redin the face claim list - only in the canon list.
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
05
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Characters are allowed to have any Pokemon parties that you so wish with no limit on number, evolution stages, or implied level. The only exception is that legendary Pokemon are not allowed, even in the case of trainers who, in canon, have owned or should currently own legendaries. Aside from that, we welcome all trainers of any age or experience on the site.
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
06
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Shinies are not allowed in Pokemon parties or for character gijinkas unless: a) you have purchased the necessary item from the shop (this allows you to turn one pre-existing Pokemon or gijinka into a shiny Pokemon or gijinka), or b) you're converting over a character from the original TBE who had earned a shiny at that time. Unfortunately, characters converted over from other forums with shinies over there will not be afforded the same luxary. Please do not give your characters starting shinies without meeting one of these criteria.
THREADING + ACTIVITY
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
01
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
We function on liquid time, so feel free to roleplay in one thread set in the future or past compared to another. Just don't take this too far - if you intent to play multiple years ahead and back, for example, there's a sub-board set aside specifically for it in the Alternative Universes board.
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
02
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
We are a death-enabled site in the sense that characters may be and are encouraged to be killed off at any point in time during the roleplay. However, we also value the time and effort people put into their characters and would never want to off a character without warning. The same standard will be held up to you and your fellow members. Do not do anything drastic or life altering to another person's character without the roleplayer's consent, whether that be death or otherwise.
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
03
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
“God moding”, “metagaming”, and “power playing” are more words that you tend to hear about in places like these, but just like the golden rule of respect, they must be noted – specifically the fact that they will not be allowed. Will certain characters be more powerful than others in intelligence, physical might, Pokemon parties, or any combination of the three? Of course. That's just how things work. But all of these gaps in power must always be within reason. Just shy of maybe Arceus itself, no one can be perfect or untouchable. Why would you even want to be when in character drama comes from struggle?
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
04
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
There is no upper or lower word limit here on TBE, whether that be in the application process or in roleplaying itself. We trust you all to know how to get your point across, whether that be in one hundred words or a couple thousand, so we put it to you to determine how much you would or would not like to write. Do note your roleplaying partner's word count preferences during roleplay, however; if you tend to write a lot and are roleplaying with someone who doesn't care for walls of text, consider toning it down, and vice versa in the reverse.
GRAPHICS + AETHETICS
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
01
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
All characters are expected to have a 100x100 icon for their mini-profile, a 250x350 avatar for their user profile, and a 600x300 image for their application and user profile. While these will technically resize should they're too large or small, we ask that you make all images to size, or at least to ration to prevent scaling issues.
[attr="class","taketwogenmid1"]
02
[attr="class","taketwogenmid2"]
Graphics should be tasteful. Please refrain from using poorly cropped or edited images, fast moving or large gif images (slow and subtle icons, however, are fine, but please don't use too many), or screencaps if at all possible. If you aren't able to make suitable graphics for yourself, please go to this board and put in a request; able staff or other helpful members will get you situated!

congratulations on completing your application and getting it approved! now that you've been given the thumbs up, though, you've still got a few more steps before you can hop into the roleplay. for starters, make sure to update your face claims and, if applicable, canon claims, then add your new character to the member directory. after that, consider starting or replying to a character plotter, participate in some forum games, or fill out an open thread. otherwise, good luck, and happy writing!
