A greeting to the hostess and a nod of recognition, she pleasantly refused the offer to be shown to the table and instead headed straight for where James had already made himself comfortable, putting the case down and propping it against the table as she took her seat and offered him a knowing smile.

Okay so I already mentioned this because you know, I do that in passing. But I think Luci would definitely be using her connections to arrange meetings with James and give him good publicity best as she can because she's heavily involved in Parallax. Her father owns a chain of stores and restaurants in Kalos so she's one of the "upper" members of society. She might have briefly been one of his attempts at dating while Harper was missing but if it didn't work out I don't think she'd be jilted. More just like that's cool you're better off being the leader of our movement anyways.
Also she definitely admires his business sense since he's so young and the CEO of Silph. That's pretty admirable. She's probably written a bunch of articles being like "this is why you should trust this man." and brings him coffee when he needs some kind of press consultant who isn't just out to paint Parallax as a bunch of pokemon killers.

Luci loves her job. Having been in front of a camera her whole life - though as a child it was just her parents’ home recordings - when she was choosing to decide what it was she should do, she knew that reporting was at the top of her list.
