Elegance and grace was all Lane had to disguise the boredom on their face. The coronation was an optional event to attend in name, but when faced with the title of "Lady Commander of the Physicians", attendance was mandatory. Sticking to the human facade was exhausting with all of the trivial formalities, they thought as they played around with their glass of champagne, watching the water dip and bend along with the never-ending stream of glassy bubbles. It could've been worse, though. They could've been in Nerea's position, forced to recite lines in a long-winded and flowery speech in front of a multitude of flashing cameras. But no. Instead, Lane got to take it easy at the table of physicians.

Boredom spurred them to find something more entertaining as they began to tune out of the speech, and with a subtle tug at the tight scarf around their neck, they grimaced at their own awful taste in clothing. A normal lab coat would've been much more comfortable than the fanciful white suit that was picked out for them. It was an archaic choice of clothing with a modern touch; as the overbearing lighting kicked up a sweat storm (yet another human-bodied trait Articuno wasn't accustomed to), the pearly sheen of the cloth twirled together in a radiance of soft greens, pinks, and blues. Again, another display of wealth for the cameras. Humans were too easily swayed by such matters.

Once the speech turned into a Q&A session, Lane focused on the retreating figures of Nerea and Akemi. They did their parts well, and Lane felt themselves share a sigh of relief once it was over. Based on Lane's memories, Nerea and Akemi were an interesting pair. The 'Magician' traits naturally piqued their own curiosity, even if Articuno couldn't fully explain why. Particularly with Akemi, there was something oddly familiar about them that Lane couldn't quite place--

Ah, and then there were the crowns. The children's merriment at the shimmering toys eased the stiffness of the room. Lane found themselves wanting one for themselves, regardless of whether the crown would fit them or not. Maybe later, when no one else was watching. Naturally, Articuno had questions, but social standards made it difficult to put their foot down and ask in front of so many people.

A tall member of the audience with a squeaky, nasally voice raised his hand. With permission to proceed and a pen and paper in hand, he asked "What was your inspiration for the name behind 'The Crown'?" and stared expectantly at Olivia for an answer.
