Howdy guys! The names Astro and I am your resident Brit & Red muse (you'll honestly see me more on him than any of my other characters). I'm a moderator and my main job is to make sure everything is running smoothly so the Admins can focus on other things, you'll often see me within the apps and shops, etc when I'm not on Red. What can I say about myself? Ohkay so I'll just make this pretty later. But I was thinking that Liam could look up to Tai at something similar to a mentor? I don't really know what you had in mind for Tai specifically, but maybe he could notice Liam's touch/sight similarity to himself and then maybe try to help him with controlling it? or even just how to accept it/maintain it? Cause it's no secret that Liam struggles with touching or even using the gift that he has. I don't know if you have any other ideas, but this was just sort of what I was thinking.

He was tired. It had been awhile since he'd had a day off. So much paperwork. But, it was all for a good reason and so Liam had no qualms about finishing it, but ever since the battle against Team Imum, Liam had been itching. He hated it. Itching for something more. Sure, going after the spirits was interesting and it brought a sense of purpose to him, but after you've had a taste for battle it was hard to give it up, even if you didn't want it. [break][break] There was a moment of silence before he felt a gentle nudge on his leg. He looked down to see both Orcas, his vaporeon, and Somniis, his umbreon, staring up at him with intelligent eyes. With nothing to do what should be done? "What would you guys like to do huh?" He asked, leaning over so he could set his hand on the top of Somniis's head. Then Orcas made a rather jealous sound and nudged his head against his hand before he could pull away. Liam chuckled and gently scratched at the vaporeon's jaw before pulling away. He stood within one of the city's large squares. People everywhere. He was standing beside the fountain in the middle of the square, gazing into the water. Then he sat down on the edge and pulled out his mother's tarot cards. [break][break] To be honest, there was no real intention to actually read anyone's future or attract attention although he usually did. He just kept getting harassed by his mother so much that he just figured he might as well work on them. Liam shuffled the deck quickly and began to lay them out face down on the stone beside the fountain. Was he afraid they would get wet if they wind blew them into the water? Not really, the deck was waterproof and stiff. These were expensive cards. What should he ask? Is there going to be a war between the republic, Parallax, and the association? Honestly? He didn't want to know the answer to that question. He really hoped not. So he wouldn't ask it? [break][break] "Is today going to be a good day?" That was a horrible question to ask! Dammit! Well, better follow through with the reading. He reached out and took a card. Typhon... the card of fate. Curious. He reached for another card. The magus... the card of will. He narrowed his eyes. This reading was becoming more and more displeasing as he continued. Not that it seemed like a freakishly horrible reading. But it seemed as though something was about to happen. One more card. He could stop there he guessed... But... then he wouldn't get to know the rest of the reading. A sigh and then he looked up at the world around him, people moving past him back and forth. As life continues on.
Liam is one of the sweetest guys you'll ever meet. While he isn't the most social of people, he is certainly one of the most positive in his daily life. He consistantly tries to build up an environment to keep emotional tensions and drama low. Especially in the seers group. However, he knows when to be serious and when people need to talk or just be generally upset and he's a very good listener with some good advice. He's easy to talk to and generally caring and doesn't really distinguish a person by their faction. He's very on the fence about what he believes and would much rather a battle not start up. [break][break] I couldn't imagine him having a ton of friends, but he's certainly been the kind of person to help out a stranger so he could have one or two really good friends, with other people he's just genuinely been helpful to, both relating to his job, and in just every day life.
Once again Liam doesn't really distinguish between factions, he's more likely to follow an individual rather than a whole group unless he or those he cares about are in any kind of danger. If there is a war, he will fight. He'll fight for the people, for the innocent, and for the pokemon. Whoever has the gall to intend or allow the death or insafety of the innocent are his enemies and he will stand and fight to protect them. [break][break] On a more personal side, Liam is very protective of his own pokemon. So you have that there. But also, he can be quite distant on the emotions, so even though he can quickly relate with people on a personal level, he's not likely to share his own personal feelings with anyone. There could possibly have been a former friend who felt betrayed by his lack of emotional connection and possibly over reacted or something? I don't know, just throwing something out there.
So, this one is a little bit difficult, because Liam is so sensative to skin on skin touch. He tends to have visions relating to the emotions and personality characteristics of others so this would make it difficult for him to pursue a romantic relationship. He's likely not even thought about what his sexuality is. He's kind of cut himself off from this. Thats not to say that it would be impossible to go in any romantic direction, as he would never mistreat someone he loves for his own gain. He's just going to need someone to pursue him and work with him regarding the touching stuff.

So... I realize I'm coming in a little bit late to this party and that I'm a completely new member who's just dropping information or characters or whatever I decide to put down here, but hello friends I'm Avian~! I have Liam's bio up, but he's not accepted yet so there you go, but anyway, moving on. I am SUPER intrigued by this plot, like, super intrigued. It's been awhile since I've been on a war tension specific rp site, but I'm already so excited. Especially with the espionage idea, and in fact have a character that I've created on one of Leap's sites before this who was a creator of a spy group.
i love the idea about espionage? because i was considering having xander organize an assc-based spy group? little birdies will tell him secrets, because he's got to get to the throne sOME HOW OK i mean this isn't game of thrones what eye emoji. no, but in all seriousness, i would love to set up a subplot for association spies that have clearances to travel freely and set up shop in opposing faction work spaces and what not. who is here for making a kid char that is legit stealing information from the people taking care of them? fun emirate?
I almost nearly said I would take the child, because that seems like so much fun, but I also have the character that I mentioned above who would totally work with you xander cromwell on creating an association based spy group. He'd likely even be able to pass off as a supporter of Parallax if interested.
Idk, I'm just sort of throwing stuff out here now. xD Just thought I'd join the party since I'm new and love this kinda stuff, and this is the best way to start plotting. But anyway, Elliot is a bit ruthless, and if I'm going to bring him over I'm going to have to change some of Liam's core team because I kinda stole a couple of his precious pokemon from him. this is now fixed.

interesting tidbits [break][break] psychic✖ similar to what might happen in the show or book series called the dead zone, not every time, but a lot of the time, when he physically touches someone's skin with his skin he will often get short flashes of visions based on that person's emotions and personality and behavior. this process is hard on his body and mind and so he doesn't welcome it all too much, which is why he will usually be seen wearing gloves and long-sleeved shirts and pants most of the time, just so that people don't accidentally bump into him activating this ability of his. He will not normally use this, but especially during the war with imum, he learned to endure it as much as possible in order to learn things and because of battles ect. [break][break] nightmares✖ has nightmares about the imum war at night and struggles sleeping, but does his best to sleep as much as possible, even if it's only 3 or 4 hours a night.
psychic grew up despising touch, even by his parents or brother because of the visions that would often plague his young and impressionable mind. they tended to show a person's inner emotions which became mentally and emotionally overwhelming on liam's younger self. so he grew up believing that touching was negative, he's learned to do anything he could to keep people at a distance while at the same time working hard to help them smile. his mother wanted him to start working in her line of work but he refused due to his fear of the visions. now-a-days he's only likely to use this ability when he absolutely needs to. [break][break] detective as the son of a private detective liam became fascinated with his father's work and the different connections between people affected the world around them, including the pokemon. he began to read books and watch his father and older brother closely about how they worked. he tried to go along with them on rides sometimes when he was around tenish years old but his mother never allowed him go. he grew up a very intelligent boy, whizzing through his homework from school and being very good at problem-solving. the one thing he was never very good at was being personally social with people. sure he was good at bringing a positive atmosphere and being motivated to help people, but that didn't mean he was very good at connecting with them. because of his physical withdrawal, he found that he had emotionally withdrawn as well, keeping his distance. [break][break] pokemon rose and gale were found by him at the same time, two very young ralts that were separated from their mother. his father had found him a dawn stone and he raised them both. These two are his very best friends and his first pokemon. [break][break]

father's death it is publically unknown how his father died when he was about sixteen years old, but it wasn't a year later that his older brother also went missing and was later found dead. The only evidence that liam has come up with is that it somehow related to team imum. he has not been able to tell whether or not it was related to team imum directly or whether it was an individual specifically, but he continues to seek the answer as he works. imum's rise liam definitely had a hand in the fighting against imum and it's rise and demise, being unwilling to accept it's values and sins. he's grown a team of pokemon that he's become dear, dear friends with and has a deep relationship with each one of them, having fought so hard and gone through so much with them. He lost a few and gained a few within the last three or four years, but he continues to work closely with his pokemon, including training the younger and newer ones within his party. [break][break] seers as liam cares very little for the rising tension that is moving throughout the region he has stepped very firmly in front of his own pokemon and decided that he didn't like where either the republic nor the parallax were headed. so trying to consider himself as true neutral as possible but also stand beside his pokemon, liam joined the seers, also wanting to use it to look into the deaths of this brother and father in the background.
