What do you do, when your heart beats in a staccato in your chest? When it's hammering, with things you still don't quite understand? It's been years since you've met him, but still to this day, you can only feel a sort of awe. What was it that changed your life so much? You were going to enjoy pokemon whilst you could, before growing up and getting a job. Another worker in the machine, another boy that becomes a man. And yet, you got thrown a curve ball, a shimmering ball of adventure and promises to a funner future. Do you still remember that day?
[break][break]
The day that Gold Levine walked into your life like a hurricane.
[break][break]
It was supposed to be a simple, easy and done deal. You were supposed to deliver something important. And you, you were trusted with this since you helped out the Professor more often then not. You owed him for one; he had given you your first pokemon. What you might not know, is that you literally came at the worst time that day - there had been no starters. So he just handed you off a rattata and hoped that you didn't known any better. But knowing that wouldn't change anything. That first Rattata is your most precious pokemon partner - and that's in stone for now and forever. But still, you owed him for that (even though you really didn't, seriously, he just handed you a rattata m'boy, why is that even acceptable!?) so you took this little side job. It did help that it would pay a little - pocket money, really. But it was enough for a pokeball.
[break][break]
But that all important bag was stolen! Your heart stuttered in fear, and you felt a terror that you never could truly explain. Was it the fact you were going to fail your job? That promised pocket money slipping away? Your pride besmirched? Honestly, to this day, you still don't know - but you were frantic. It had been stolen by some stupid bird - a really smart bird, more so then normall you were sure of it - and you were really at a loss for that. Still, you weren't going to give up! Well, ok maybe you were close to giving up. What kid wouldn't be!? But that's when you met the person that you still try your best to keep in contact with to this day - despite how the world seems to hate that.
[break][break]
That bird had also stolen an antenna - his actually - and within moments you were swept up in whatever Gold was doing. His Aipom (Aibo, you remember, doesn't that mean partner? The fact you remember the name of his pokemon is probably weird and obsessive, but nobody knows that.) was the first thing you encountered. And from that? A quick adventure for the pair of you, retrieving what you'd lost. And then that spiralled out of control even more, mainly because well, the world was like that. (It was unfair and you knew this even then, although you didn't truly understand the meaning until later) But you weren't going to look at it crossly. After all, it was giving you brand new opportunities!
[break][break]
Like sleeping over at a friend's house for the first time. Meeting their parents, getting along with them - seeing someone's life that seemed more blessed then yours. How a kid your own age seemed to be quick on his feet, with a natural affinity for pokemon. How determination could help someone get ahead - even in the face of defeat. What bravery was, and what faith was. So many things to learn and try, things that could only happen with other people, and their pokemon. And you loved it. Even when you almost drowned. It was a whirlwind friendship - someone that seemed to not hate you for being strange, awkward and just a little off beat.
[break][break]
(That was when you truly understood that the world was unfair - within moments it was ripped away and all you could think of is how much more you wanted, a door in your heart opened, an addictive taste on your tongue.)
[break][break][break]
You were given another job. No pay this time, but you knew it was important - to see Gold's family back to his home, and check on his mother. You took it to heart, and you gave your friend a brilliant smile, heading off with confidence in your steps. You'd seen so much in those few days - you remember it all to the finest detail even to this day. (And if you went over those small details constantly, to make sure you never forgot, compulsively and obsessively, well nobody was going to mention that because you had no one to talk to) And so, suddenly being dropped back into your life was like a slap in the face. What was it that made you want to go out there? What had been awakened in you that day? You still don't know.
[break][break]
(And maybe that's why you obsess over it. Your first ever friend was surprising to you, and had showed you something beyond your little world. Yet, you don't know what exactly had begun, what had triggered and all you could think of is that it always came back to Gold in the end.)
[break][break]
But within no time at all, your life was back to where it was. Helping out the Professor occasionally, trying to make sense of what your life was. How much weight is an eleven year old kid supposed to bear? You're not sure. But what you do know, is that you would help when you could. Like when the Professor couldn't understand the simplest of technologies, and yet could make something like the pokedex - you were there to get things working. But you were a background character - and you knew it. Your life was boring, non-intensive - even quiet. So perhaps that's why you decided to take some time to go explore with your partners, after the whole Celebi thing. Consequently, that's when you missed Gold and Crystal working at the lab - if you had been there to work with Elm, maybe you would have seen him more.
[break][break]
(And the world made you pay for it - when you came back, he was gone, off to greater, better things still. And you had to learn, from one of your trips into the city, that Gold was a playboy and seemed to like girls and for some reason that threw a knife in your chest. Why? You still aren't sure, but you know that maybe it had to do with the fact that Gold never called you - even when you made the Professor give him your number, the one time you were forceful for something other then food and rest.)
[break][break]
But you would see him again soon... right?
[break][break]
(Wrong, it would long, painful years before you met him again.)
[break][break]
So with that thought in heart, you steeled yourself. You trained with your pokemon, and learned a lot of things about pokemon researching - you were assisting Professor Elm after all. That was the only reason you even heard of a bit of Gold's adventures. Fragments that let you paint a picture of sorts, but not enough details. You resolved to ask Gold those - and yet your calls were sporadic at best. You often spent your days outside, waiting for new trainers and challenging them to a battle - giving them your number, and knowing you were sending others on a journey of their lives. Who knows how many destroyed you in battle? You had a lot of Rattatas - for some reason you kept catching them. Your partner was happy and jokingly, you called them the Rat Pack.
[break][break]
But your smile was flimsy at best, and nobody could see behind it.
[break][break]
So when you heard that Gold left for Lyeant? You decided to follow him, near blindly. You took a long time to convince the Professor to finally let you go (and during that time, devastation had come and gone, the bells of revolution and discord ringing loudly) but went you did. Excitedly, you remember the last time you had left the area - the first journey that didn't go all too far, and the second that you tried to start, only to have to come back to put your mother in the ground. Aborted journeys both, but now you could get a real one right? A journey, an adventure, because Gold was in Lyeant and by Arceus you would find him and meet up again!
[break][break]
(But the joke's on you, does he even remember you?)
[break][break]
The first thing you thought when you arrived in Lyeant, is that everything was wrong. Team Imum (Inum? Imun? Whatever was it called you can't remember because they don't matter) managed to almost destroy the region. Factions were lines being drawn in the sand, and you had no idea where you stood. It was only the rumous of a powerful hatcher that made you decide to go with the Republic. You're still unsure about any and all of this political mess, but you hoped that choosing to follow Gold would lead you right to him.
[break][break]
(Would you find him? You're unsure - this new, disturbed region was unlike anything you've encountered in your small town before. You feel out of your depth, but you can only go on, with your one goal in mind.)
the first storm

there is nothing left to take, but i still try to reach. try to swallow it all down, yet i can't seem to breathe. just a single pill of mine, nothing else would suffice - i take it in, now i'm alive. my phone is set on lock, and i don't really care. there's a tangle and a knot that i cannot repair. i'm a tragedy, i'm ugly, i'm trying to hide. i say "hello", then wave "goodbye". see me fall down - let me die here slowly. nothing goes right, not a trace of honestly. i'm to blame, so i'll remain. black, white; day, night; it's all the same. see it run down - cut away, no worries. say no more. i can surely say that i've had enough. i still refuse to believe.

>>> TL;DR

PLOT IDEA #1
every day would be the same. nothing more, little change. if i cared, it would mean nothing: it's all such a pain. friendly bonds are so unneeded, i don't give a dang. a busy life is what i am. could it be that family was a way of escape? didn't know if it was right, so i threw them away. couldn't take it anymore, i had taken enough, so then i hide my need for love.[break][break]
PLOT IDEA #2
lay me right down, let me sleep, i'm restless. cover my eyes. when i'm up, i'll finally fade away, here, today. give me a reason: then i'll stay. if i could fly, if for only a moment, there wouldn't be such a need for casualty. i'm alone, and that is how it'll be.

every day would be the same. nothing more, little change. if i cared, it would mean nothing: it's all such a pain. friendly bonds are so unneeded, i don't give a dang. a busy life is what i am. could it be that family was a way of escape? didn't know if it was right, so i threw them away. couldn't take it anymore, i had taken enough, so then i hide my need for love.[break][break]
