Hello, Concerned, and thank you for your input! We appreciate your concern for yourself and potential members who may find themselves alienated by the future state of the canon list. Unfortunately, there's no need for the change you suggest: it's already in place!

There are restrictions on both the number of canons that may be taken and the length of reservation time for each category, as low as one for the "most desirables" and as high as three in a category with a total number of approximately one hundred and seventy-five characters. The highest number of canons any one person can play at a time is eight, which may seem like a lot, but considering the fact that a) there are just shy of three hundred total canons on the site; and b) it's completely unrealistic to assume that a large number of people are going to be taking that many, especially considering no one has hit that number yet, that's actually not too terrible of an upper limit. We have a system in place that allows for the purchase of extra canon spots, but that is only with a high price in our site store, which is set up specifically so that only active members who have proven that they can handle another canon and will do it justice can purchase it.

(Also note that, aside from the region original canons - high ranking officers and the Pokemon League of Lyeant - none of these other canons hold any real plot significance at this time. If anything, they're only invitations for members who would otherwise not plot have a reason to plot together at this time. Even if you've somehow arrived late enough that all of the canons in a particular category are taken, there should be no need to feel alienated from the plot. Honestly, the site could function just as well without all of these extra canons as it could with - they're only there so people who liked those characters can play them. Nothing more, nothing less.)

As it stands, there's roughly only a quarter of the entire canon list claimed or reserved, and when the first few weeks of a site tend to be its best in terms of overall member count, you'll have to forgive me if I don't seem too terribly worried about a monopoly of canons, particularly by a supposed "specific group" which, as stated before, hasn't even met their maximum number of canons on a list as massive as this.

I also apologize if any of that seems rude in any way, or seems like I'm batting away your criticism at all. The truth of the matter is is that the staff has already worked hard to balance out what's already an entirely optional canon list, and aside from limiting everyone's number of canons down to one (which would result in a lot of these canons never being taken, including the few that are important to the site, and doesn't really seem all that necessary to me), there aren't many changes that can be put into place to fix a problem that... quite frankly, doesn't really need fixing. :'D
